051: Divinitas Adveniens 1

[Patriarch Karzun]
Gurndin had taken to telling bawdy tales to pass the time. Surprisingly, Eg'Valla was deeply interested in them. Patriarch Karzun was less interested but still found the idea of the three of them sitting on the moon of a newly inducted world, telling stories, to be quite amusing.

"...then I heard the sweet young lass say, 'Father if you don't let me go, I'll show more than him! I'll make sure that every boy in the village gets an eyeful!" Gurndin exclaimed, continuing his most recent tale.

"No!" Eg'Valla exclaimed, covering her mouth in mock horror. "She didn't!"

"Aye, she did. She did." Gurndin said with a smile. He opened his mouth to speak when all three of their heads snapped to a point on the planet below them.

A moment later, a Box appeared.

Gurndin let out a low whistle. "It's callin' ya' by that title. It must be very angry."

Patriarch Karzun let out a long-suffering sigh. "Let's get this over with before anyone actually gets hurt, and we have even more to deal with."

Eg'Valla smiled at them both and waved a hand, opening a portal to the location of the pulse of power from earlier.

[Theo and Julia]
Movement was impossible, and after struggling for a moment, Theo simply waited. He watched Durn struggle against the mesh of power, but it was unmoving and unforgiving.

Suddenly, a portal opened, and through it stepped a familiar face. Theo saw Patriarch Karzun in his humanoid form step through. Behind the elder dragon came a woman that Theo first thought was someone cosplaying a Wookie; then he realized that she was simply that hairy. Lastly, came a Dwarfish man who looked rather jovial, other than the burning hatred in his eyes as he looked at Durn.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

The Dwarf stepped forward to the frozen Unwanted God. He looked up at the sickly, ghoul-like deity trapped by the System. "Durn the Unwanted, ye' 'ave been declared a rogue god. We have been tasked with suppressing ye'. Please resist. I want ye' to resist."

Durn looked mildly amused, then his eyes rose and locked with Patriarch Karzun, who had pulled a blade from a storage and was standing idly by. Durn saw the blade, and his eyes widened. Gurndin smiled. "Oh yes, it called him by that title. Ye' really messed up this time."

>Local Message: Forced Mana Stabilization enabled

A pulse of energy rushed through the area, and suddenly, the world seemed more solid. The mesh faded, and Theo took a breath, reveling in the power that thrummed through everything at the moment. Julia stepped up next to him and took his hand.

>Local Message: Judgement in progress...

A massive eye the size of a planet opened in the sky and peered down at Durn. Durn glared up at it and cried out. "You would judge me! I am a god. Before you ever came to this reality, I was ancient. You are nothing! Who are you to resist the will of the Divine!"

With that, Durn lashed out at Theo and Julia, still set on killing them off. A flash of light and a raised hand from Eg'Valla stopped the attack. Durn snapped his head to Eg'Valla. "I already took your home world once, you little upstart! Interfere again, and I will make the multiple millennia of work you have done reclaiming it meaningless!"

Durn lashed out again, and Eg'Valla stopped him once more. Before he could speak, Eg'Valla spoke. "I am not the little girl that you tormented all those thousands of years ago. I will not stand by and watch anymore. And I think you forget that I am not here alone."

Gurndin stepped closer to Durn and held a hand out to the side of his body, and a hammer fell into his open hand. He slammed the hammerhead into the palm of his other hand. "What about me, Durn? You took the one thing that I love. I made this hammer specifically for use on you. I still want to."

"I never took anything from you, Gurndin," Durn said dismissively.

The air around Gurndin blossomed into the shimmer of a heat mirage as the heat of a star began to roll off of Gurndin. "Never took anything?! NEVER! TOOK! ANYTHING?!"

Gurndin waved a hand, and an anvil that absorbed light appeared. He reached for Durn, who suddenly looked mildly concerned and stepped back.

Patriarch Karzun stepped up and placed a dragon scale-clad hand on Gurndin's shoulder. "She would not want to see you like this."

Gurndin froze and took a deep breath. The heat pulled back into his body. He waved a hand, and the hammer and anvil vanished. He looked around and saw that several trees had been reduced to ash, and the dirt for roughly fifty feet around him was blackened and destroyed. He looked at Theo and Julia.

"Here," Gurndin said, tossing a pouch that he summoned to Theo, "for the damages. My apologies."

Patriarch Karzun nodded to Gurndin, then turned to focus solely on Durn. "Now then, Durn."

Durn visibly and audibly swallowed; his throat had gone dry. "Amadylaren I..."

"No." Patriarch Karzun said, "No, you do not get to call me by that name. Not after all you have done to my people. And especially not after what you did to my family. You also do not respect me. You only call me that when you want something, and you think I don't know you are trying to manipulate me. Call me what you call me to everyone else."

"Amady..." Durn started.

"No." Patriarch Karzun said this with no change in his tone or inflection.

"Ama.."

"I said No. Call me what you call me to everyone else." Patriarch Karzun said.

Durn looked resigned. But he also had a twisted grin on his face. "Fine, you useless lizard."

"There it is." Patriarch Karzun said with a grin as a pulse of power emanated from him.
