Chapter 903: Alan's frustration-2
Alexis didn't pay attention to Alan Arjo who was leaving, but poured herself a glass of brandy and sipped it leisurely. The days when she didn't have to worry about was coming soon.
Well, she was following all the tactics handed by Samuel. It was predetermined. At that time, she just need to wait quietly for the day after tomorrow to come.
Meanwhile Alan, who returned home was feeling depressed. Reality was just setting in for him but right at time he received a call from his father Bernard Arnaud.Just hearing the ringtone, the arrogant young master became quail.
Bernard was old but he had enough prestige to make anyone shudder. He had a calm demeanor amount him but at the same time his shrewd ways always left everything uncertain. They knew if they showed even a hint of weakness the old snake would jump to strangle their finances.
Which was why his own arrogant son feared him a lot knowing his father had a lot of contingency plans. He knew he could never go against his father until his death. He was also at ease feeling that he was supporting him. This was a natural sense of fear.
"Alan, where have you been during this time? Why can't I find you?" The majestic voice of his father came through the phone, making his son nervous.
Could that witch really told on him? The more he thought about it, the more believable it became. Still, he couldn't let her ruin his life. He had faith in his father rely on him for everything.
"No, Dad, I have been contacting Count De Hay Aitom during this period, hoping to buy the stock in his hands." At this time, Alan Arjo can only sell De Hay Aitom. The earl mentioned it as his shield.
"Really?" On the phone, Bernard Arnault's voice was a little puzzled, how can his son lie through his teeth?
"Of course, father, I have been staring at Count De Hey Ettom but he is showing me cold shoulder probably wanting bigger payout because of his debt." Alan breathed a sigh of relief at this time. It seems that Alexis that bitch, had no talked to his father. He might really lose it if that were to happen.
"That's it? You should be more persuasive. Is she not helping you?" Bernard continued to ask.
"This, father, not yet, Count hasn't promised anything, but, father, don't worry, I will keep close eyes." The more Alan was half truth as he really been in contact with Count.
"Well, son, remember, the day after tomorrow is the big day, you have to be prepared." He reminded him again.
" Of course, father, don't worry." Alan let out a sigh and hung up the phone.
Fortunately, this time he was hiding it pretty well and didn't let his father notice anything unusual.
However, what Alan Arjo didn't know was that his father, Bernard Arnault, hung up the phone and looking disappointed.
He originally wanted to give his ineffective son last chance. It seemed that he was not up for his expectations. He had already recieved detail reports about what his son was upto.
His bastard had spent the past few days in the clubhouse. Moreover, rumors had spread all over the paris, saying that his trash son has been fascinated by the famous social flower. It was easy for rumours to grow since his group was in the news during to the upcoming company event.
On the other hand Alan was laughing inward over the phone. Forget it, it's too late to think about it as long as he got to keep the ancestor's money. Explore stories on empire
Bernard Arnault looked at the sky in the distance, thought of his daughter, unknowingly, showed a satisfied smile. There were many methods to divide his wealth and was eager to see what his daughter would next. Wouldn't it be a huge surprise for everyone?
Alan Arjo hung up his father's phone. The more he thought about it, the more he happiness turned to uncertainty. He lied to his father. Although he could hide it for a while, but if he wanted to keep it for a while, it was obviously unrealistic. It will be exposed soon as his father was extremely intelligent.
Thinking of this, Alan thought about Alexis again. It seemed that he should rest assured of his dignity and take the initiative to make peace with her.
Thinking of this, Alan Arjo picked up the phone again and called Alexis. Fortunately this time, the phone was connected.
"Hey, Alexis, I came to you before, why did you let people stop me?" His tone was cheerful but she could tell his voice was icy. Obviously, she was still angry, but she didn't want to think about it either. But was this a gesture of begging?
"Oh, is it? I'm sorry, I thought you were in the clubhouse, so I didn't think it was my right to ask your where abouts." She replied casually during the call.
"Um, that, Alexis, you know, it's just..." When it came to the clubhouse, he had nothing to say, after all, it's his own problem not worth explaining.
"Really? You know you are talk of the town. Even without digging, I kept hearing about yout tryst from others. How do you think others would feel about you special adventures?"
" You..."
" Fine don't answer." She paused thinking putting him on spot was all she could do. He was a damn good liar so there were no surprises there.
She steered the conversation toward what he was actually interested in, Count Hey's shares. She had to keep dangling him the carrot.
Alan was surprised, he didn't know she too was unsuccessful in securing the deal which was odd considering they were paying eighty percent of current market value for the shares. Wasn't he deep in debt?
She could tell the panic in his voice so she decided to hit him with the first devastating news of the week.
"Now it's too late to contact Count De Hay." She sneered.
"why?"
why? Alexis was dumbfounded hearing hus question. Did he have shit for brains?
"Alan, if you think you can handle it, you can contact him by yourself. I have other things to do now, so let's me be. Before finding the reason, I hope you will not contact me before the party." With that, she hung up the phone relieved about her antics.
