Hollywood What If Chapter 62

"Kazir, when are you going to start the sequel to Napoleon Dynamite?"

"Tom, you need to relax. We still need to polish the script."

Kazir Grey and Tom Rothman had a meeting about the sequel to Napoleon Dynamite.

The 5% of the box office had already been settled and Kazir had received confirmation from the bank.

Out of respect for Tom Rothman, Kazir decided to be honest.

"Tom, I'm going to be honest with you. I don't want to direct the movie."

"I fucking knew it!"

Tom Rothman sighed and leaned back in his chair. He knew so many directors who didn't like sequels.

Steven Spielberg didn't make Jaws 2 and other Jaws sequels. Wes Craven didn't make the Nightmare on Elms Street sequels. In fact, Wes Craven hated sequels. He felt that they diluted the essence of the movie.

The whole Nightmare on Elms Street almost became a comedy because of the endless sequels.

But Napoleon Dynamite was different.

"Kazir. You have to understand, Napoleon Dynamite needs you. Fox Searchlight will never hesitate to give you terms. $7 million salary and 10% of the North American box office. What do you think?"

Tom Rothman thought Kazir would be tempted. This offer was already a big deal.

"Tom, I have to be honest, but I have to say no. I'm still thinking about directing another movie."

"Are you talking about the script that is circulating? Kazir, there's no guarantee on that Teady Bear script. You have to think about it seriously."

"..."

Kazir just smiled.

To be honest, he was struggling with his next project.

He was interested in making Ted, but he was also eager to start his vast Continental Cinematic Universe.

He wanted to be the first to start a successful Cinematic Universe.

"I hope you'll give me a positive answer when you're done with The Hangover."

"Thanks, Tom."

The two shook hands and parted. Kazir left the 20th Century Fox building.

After meeting with Tom Rothman, Kazir went directly to Warner Bros headquarters.

He walked into the editing room.

"Good morning, Kazir."

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Hamilton."

"Just call me Brody. You don't have to be so formal."

The man before Kazir was Brody Hamilton. He was currently 36 years old. He was one of the editors at Warner Bros.

Warner Bros gave Kazir full creative control over The Hangover. However, Warner Bros would have to use their own editors. They would never let outsiders touch the post-production of their films.

Although Kazir had a good relationship with his last editor, Rector, he knew that this was the way the business worked.

Kazir was already happy that Warner Bros gave him full editing rights on The Hangover.

"Let's start our work."

There was no proper introduction, the two just walked into the editing room to start post-production.

Post-production was a very important part of the movie process. The footage Kazir shot was over 800 minutes. He had to cut the NGs and find the best shot for each scene. Then he would put them together to make a real story. Then he had to squeeze it down to 100 minutes.

Sounds easy? Post-production usually takes more than a month. Sometimes more than half a year, especially for movies with CGI/special effects.

.........

......

...

"Are you sure he'll show up here?"

Cassandra asked her informant.

"That's what we heard. Anyway, my work here is done. You're on your own."

"..."

The informant left after leading Cassandra to the rendezvous point.

Cassandra heard that Kazir was going to buy a new suit because he was going to the premiere of Twister.

Cassandra looked at herself in the mirror and fixed her appearance. Especially her cleavage, she wanted to emphasize how ample it was.

"Good morning."

The saleswoman greeted her as she entered the store. She was not thrown out because of her appearance.

Cassandra looked at the dress and noticed that it didn't have a price tag. The clothes in the store didn't have price tags...

But based on the clothes they were selling, each dress could cost more than 10 thousand dollars. For a woman who was currently in debt after maxing out her credit card, Cassandra was sweating as she looked at them.

The saleswoman looked at Cassandra's expression and clicked her tongue, realizing that Cassandra was not a rich person.

"Ma'am, I think you need to leave."

"N- No, I'm waiting for someone. He'll show up..."

"Good morning, sir. Good morning, ma'am."

A couple entered the store and were greeted by another saleswoman.

Kazir and Reese walked into the store. The woman hugged his arm. She was flirting with Kazir.

"Let's find something for you first."

"Thanks, Kazir."

Reese giggled and kissed him on the cheek.

"..."

Cassandra was stunned as she watched the scene. She couldn't believe that Kazir had a woman next to him! Besides, she was beautiful.

To make matters worse, Cassandra could not take her eyes off of Kazir. The man before her was hot and sexy. His beard was trimmed and groomed. He was damn handsome. He didn't have his fat belly either! He was fit and hunky!

Cassandra remembered the reason she had married Kazir... Because she loved his looks and his confidence.

The man in front of her was exactly that. Kazir was handsome, confident, and successful. The perfect man.

Cassandra swallowed hard for some unknown reason. Her face flushed and she didn't know why.

She took a deep breath and smiled. She waved her hand at Kazir.

"Husband..."

But before she could speak, Kazir and Reese passed by without looking at her.

Kazir never looked at her. As if she were a stranger.

"Ma'am, I think you need to leave."

The saleswoman woke Cassandra from her shock. Of all things, she hadn't expected Kazir to never look at her. Her heart felt heavy and sour as she left the store. As if she had lost something precious.
