Chapter 503: Chapter 503 Hermione: I want you to experience what domestic violence is
It is clear that Snape does not trust Dumbledore as much as one might expect.
But he has no choice!
In the current wizarding world, Dumbledore is the only one who can defeat Voldemort. To protect Harry, Snape must help Dumbledore.
But the two are obviously not that united.
Harry is one of Voldemort's Horcruxes.
This is the biggest gulf between Snape and Dumbledore.
If there was only Dumbledore in the wizarding world, Snape would naturally have no choice but to 'believe' in Dumbledore.
But now, Snape has another choice.
Andy Collins!
Admittedly, Andy is still far from being a match for Voldemort, but Andy's magical talent is extremely high, and he is growing at a rapid pace.
More importantly, Andy's IQ is online.
Not to mention, he is more reliable than Dumbledore.
Anyway, Andy's suggestion of using the Dementor to extract Voldemort's remnant soul from Harry was far more persuasive than Dumbledore's vague assurances.
In this incident, although Dumbledore promised to keep Harry safe, in Snape's view, this promise was worthless.
Once Harry fell into Voldemort's hands, who could guarantee Harry's safety 100%?
So Snape approached Andy.
He wanted to add another layer of insurance for Harry.
"Hmm..."
Andy pondered for a moment.
"Sorry!"
Andy sighed and said, "This deal is very tempting for me, but I can't just think about myself."
"Barty Crouch Sr. is the Head of the Department of International Magical Co-operation, and my father works under him. If I confront Voldemort head-on, he might retaliate against my family."
Snape fell silent on hearing this.
Everyone has someone they care about.
Snape cared about Lily, which made him want to protect Lily's son. Andy cared about his family, so he naturally wouldn't take risks lightly to ensure their safety.
Snape naturally wasn't in a position to force Andy to do anything.
After thinking for a moment, Andy continued, "I can help Harry prepare a Portkey to the Forbidden Forest; so if he encounters danger, he can use it to escape back."
"Thank you!" Snape nodded.
"You're welcome. Harry is my friend too," Andy said in a joking tone.
Snape was momentarily taken aback.
He didn't believe that Andy considered Harry to be his friend.
A stupid Gryffindor!
If Harry wasn't Lily's son, Snape wouldn't even bother with him.
After a moment of silence, Snape suddenly said, "When all the dust settles, the real battle will begin."
Andy shrugged nonchalantly.
No matter what other people think, Andy is ready to run away if he can't defend himself and his family.
"I hope this will all be over soon."
Andy said helplessly. "All this chaos just gets in the way of my studies."
Snape: "..."
How much do you love studying?
This young wizard is even willing to drive away incompetent professors just to study. After all these years of teaching, Snape has never met a young wizard who loves studying as much as Andy—someone who is willing to fight anyone who gets in the way of his studies.
Snape couldn't help but begin to fantasise: Could it be that Voldemort's future death was caused because he delayed Andy's study of magic?
How ridiculous!
"By the way..."
Snape said, while taking out a few grimoire tomes from the desk drawer, "What I promised you last time."
"What?" Andy was taken aback.
Snape handed the grimoire over, "I borrowed it from Malfoy. Magic Transfiguration, as well as about Obscurus."
Andy looked at the titles and said with some joy, "Thank you! Just what I haven't read."
He put the books into his pocket, which had been charmed for extra space, and then slowly got up. "It's getting late... Professor Snape, if there's nothing else, I'll go and eat first."
Snape nodded and waved his wand, unlocking the office door.
After leaving Snape's office, Andy couldn't help but sigh in his heart, 'Snape really does worry about Harry a lot... I really want to know what kind of beauty Lily is and how she managed to make Snape so infatuated with her.'
To be honest, even though Andy and Hermione are currently in a close relationship; if one day they really broke up, Andy would only feel sad for a while, and then he would find the next one.
In modern society, it is normal to break up and find someone new, right?
Andy really finds it hard to understand how Snape has such a high popularity rating on the internet in his previous life.
To be fair, if Snape were the protagonist of an online novel, his portrayal as a dog-licker (simp) would probably get him spat on as beta by readers.
Back in the Great Hall, Andy found Hermione in the crowd. The young witch had already finished lunch and was sitting at the Ravenclaw table, doing her homework.
Looking around, Andy spotted Harry and Ron at the Gryffindor table.
Nodding at the two, Andy sat down next to Hermione.
"What did Professor Snape say?" Hermione asked curiously.
Andy took a bite of his sausage. "He told me to create a Portkey for Harry to the Forbidden Forest. Dumbledore will keep Harry safe, and the Portkey will serve as a safety net if anything goes wrong."
Hermione thought about it for a moment and nodded, agreeing, "You are indeed the most suitable person for this task."
Snape being the obvious villain and Dumbledore not being able to tell Harry the truth, no matter how she looked at it, this task could only be given to Andy.
"I thought you would say that it is illegal to make a Portkey without permission!" Andy said with a dramatic expression.
Hermione gave Andy an annoyed glare, "How could I be so inflexible? Besides, after knowing you for so long, haven't I already broken the rules many times?"
Andy shouted in protest, "So, I've corrupted you?"
"Isn't that the case?" Hermione huffed.
"Of course not!"
Andy looked at Hermione seriously, raising an eyebrow before saying, "Tell me, is there any possibility that you were never someone who liked to follow the rules?"
"All these years, you've been suppressing your inner self, and only recently did you find the chance to act on it."
"As for me... perhaps I'm just a pretext for you to let your inner self out."
Hermione: "..."
"Andy, have I ever told you that you can be really shameless sometimes?" Hermione's face showed a mixture of emotions.
"Never!" Andy said firmly.
Hermione looked at Andy and said, "To be honest, I really want to show you what domestic violence is like right now."
"Come on, Hermione! I can bear it; I promise, I'll be fine. Be rough." Andy said with a look of determination.
Hermione: "…"
"Just eat your food!" Hermione rolled her eyes.
"I knew you couldn't bear to hit me," Andy said with a cheeky grin.
