UPDATE
So, I've been quiet for a while on Royal Road about updates and elements of Book 2 while I've been rewriting parts of Book 1 on Space Battles.
Writing "Hive Mind Beyond the Veil" was my first real experience of actually writing something that made sense. I'm close to finishing the rewrite of Book 1:
I've fixed several plot holes and added a number of new chapters that were not in the original. I made so many mistakes that I completely mislabelled one chapter; if anyone's wondering, that's Chapter 53, and it's currently listed under space battles.
For Book 2 I've been thinking through several plot elements I want to see play out, such as:
The galaxy contains many mysteries that remain unanswered, for example what lies beyond the light of Nythora's Halo. Beyond the galaxy there is total darkness, with only a few flickering lights. This will expand the interaction between the Sil'narae and Trumek as a large exploration fleet is assembled to chart the darkness and the distant lights of possible other galaxies.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
Other mysteries include how multiple species found their way to Nythora's Halo; this will also cover how humanity first appeared in this galaxy.
Nythora's Halo finds itself in the midst of a brewing conflict between minds touched by the etheric realm and those untouched. Lines are being drawn and society is splitting between the Etheric Union, a coalition of etheric species, and The Equinox Pact that opposes etheric users, as well as The Pan-Neutarlity Union that wishes to remain neutral. The growing tension could lead to the first galactic war.
Trumek would be seen as an anomaly by all sides, representing something unique yet horrifying on a grand scale. I might let you, the readers, choose which way he swings.
I'll also cover several other factions, including independent A.I. enclaves, galaxy-wide religions, mercenary guilds, megacorporations, other anomalies, and strange phenomena.
Hopefully by next week I'll be back to releasing updates on many of the worldbuilding elements I put on hold when life became complicated. I'm still trying to find alternatives to PayPal so I can use Patreon or Ko-fi.
