Chapter 17: CHAPTER 17
The moment Xu Kai walked into the meeting the whole room froze in their seat. There was an icy aura around that gave everyone chills when he walked past them.
'Miss Cheng please come back soon.' Everyone said in their hearts.
Xu Kai sat down and motioned them to start with the meeting.
"What is this? Do you call this a presentation?" He shouted, the man that was busy representing shrieked back in fear.
"Do I pay you guys so much to get sloppy work, this looks like it was made by a child." Xu Kai insulted them.
"I'm sorry sir I'll fix it." The man said.
"There is no need you can collect your paycheck and leave my company." He said and stood up.
"Ms. Shen in my office now." He said and left the room.
The other colleagues tried to comfort the man that just lost his job.
Shen Mu stood up and followed him, she didn't want to waste time and make him angry.
She entered his office and closed the door behind her.
"Yes sir!" She said and stood in front of him.
"When is Cheng Xiao returning?" He asked her.
"Sir, she has no plans of coming back." Shen Mu said looking everywhere except him.
"Tell her that it has been a week, her vacation is over. I want to see her first thing in the morning." He said leaving no room for negotiations
"Sir I don't think Cheng Xiao is planning on coming back." She replied.
"LOOK AT ME." He said,
"I want to see her tomorrow when I come." He said strictly.
"Okay sir I will relay your message." She spoke.
"You may leave." He said and she immediately went out.
Cheng Xiao walked into the interview.
"So, Miss Cheng it is said that you worked as a secretary, right?" The interviewer asked.
"Yes!" She responded.
"Well why did you resign from the biggest designing company," The interviewer asked.
"I wanted to be a designer." She replied honestly.
"It also shows that you haven't designed anything since graduating from university, seven years is a long time even if you were good." The interview said looking at het portfolio.
She nodded.
"Well, that is all. We will call you after we make a decision." The interviewer said.
"Thank you!" She replied and stood up and left.
On her way she kept thinking of the questions that the interviewer asked. She had no hope that she would get the job, after all it really has been seven years since she designed.
With this, she couldn't be more regretful for wasting seven years of her life being a secretary.
She should have resigned immediately when her mother got better from the cancer, but she held on to the hope that she would be transferred to the design team.
