Chapter 181: Reputation Points
Chapter 181 - Reputation Points
[Main Quest 6: Fame in Orario]
[Completion Status: 20/1,000,000]
After showing off part of his Noble Art, Raikiri, Mahiro's focus lingered on the system panel for a moment.
Last night, when he dealt with the three adventurers who tried to blackmail him, he gained 15 reputation points.
Now, he had just gained another 5 points from Eina.
Mahiro was starting to understand how this reputation points worked.
It was pretty much what he expected.
Reputation.
Fame.
Or maybe fear.
The goal was simple: show your strength, get people talking, and make them remember your name.
Get them to fear or admire you—or both.
That was how he'd complete this quest.
It didn't sound too hard, but with only 5 reputation points gained from a single interaction, he could tell this was going to take a long time.
'Maybe dealing with high-class adventurers will give me more points,' Mahiro thought to himself.
He'd asked the system about it last night, but as usual, the system had no useful answers. It just told him that figuring out the task was up to him.
A million reputation points... At this rate, he'd need to get at least 200,000 people to recognize him.
'Looks like I'll have to make some serious waves. If I keep taking things slow, I'll be at this forever,' Mahiro snapped back to reality.
He turned his attention back to Eina, who still looked stunned.
"Are you serious? You're not messing with me, right?"
Eina stared at him, still not quite believing what she'd seen.
"Do you want me to take off my shirt and prove it?" Mahiro asked with a sly grin.
"No! That's not necessary!"
Eina's face turned red as she quickly looked away, sneaking a glance back at Mahiro when she thought he wasn't paying attention.
For just a moment, she wondered if she had refused a little too fast. It wouldn't have hurt to check, right?
"Mahiro, do you have elven blood?" Eina asked, her curiosity breaking through her hesitation.
The Falna of the gods, after all, was usually carved into the back of an adventurer.
If Mahiro was willing to let her check his back, then he was probably telling the truth.
But without a Falna, only elves—or those with elven blood—should be able to use magic.
"Do I look like an elf to you?" Mahiro sighed. "You're the one with elf blood, and you're the cute one here."
"I'm just a half-elf," Eina said, a little flustered, though she couldn't help but smile.
She'd been complimented plenty of times before, but somehow, Mahiro's words still made her feel good.
"Still, using magic without a Falna…" Eina trailed off. "It just doesn't make sense. It goes against everything we know."
"But it's happening, isn't it?" Mahiro said, shrugging casually. "Maybe I'm just built different."
He meant it as a joke, but Eina couldn't laugh.
What Mahiro was doing wasn't just unusual—it was unreal.
If word of this got out, every Familia in Orario would be begging to have him.
"With your talent, you could join the Loki Familia or even the Freya Familia without breaking a sweat," Eina said, still trying to process what she'd seen.
"That's not my style," Mahiro replied casually.
"Why not?" Eina asked, genuinely confused.
"They're already at the top," Mahiro explained. "Joining them wouldn't mean much. It'd just be another win for them."
He leaned forward slightly, his tone turning serious.
"But me? I'm not just here to be another adventurer."
"I'm going to build the strongest Familia in Orario with my own hands."
"I'll make it as strong as the Loki Familia or the Freya Familia—or even stronger!"
"That's insane!" Eina exclaimed. "Do you even know how hard that is?"
"The harder it is, the more fun it'll be," Mahiro shot back with a grin.
Starting the strongest Familia wasn't just some random dream for Mahiro.
It was his plan. And it was probably the fastest way to rack up all the reputation points he needed.
