HI3: I Don't Want to Be a Valkyrie

Chapter 80: Chapter 27: You're Really Pushing Me Too Far, Theresa

"Have you two no shame?! Can't you see I'm still here?" Shion couldn't help but stand up, observing the suggestive posture of the pair before her.

"Then... Shion, would you like to try as well?" Upon hearing this, Theresa hesitated, casting a wary glance at Shion.

"I don't..." Shion began, momentarily stunned and ready to decline. However, she paused again, overcome by curiosity—and something else. She recalled that Theresa was not only an honored benefactor of the Ogre Tribe but also someone who had demonstrated immense power during their battle against the Orcs last time. Even after evolving into a kijin herself, Shion knew she stood little chance against Theresa.

"If it's Mistress Theresa we're talking about..."

"Oh..." Theresa rose from her seat, approaching Shion until they were face-to-face. As she looked at Shion, disappointment washed over her expression instantly.

Why is she so tall? Theresa thought to herself. Not just big-breasted—she has to be taller than me too?

At that moment, bat-like wings emerged from behind Theresa's back, and she floated gracefully into the air...

"Well then, since you want to give it a go... very well!"

Theresa threw herself at Shion, sinking her teeth into her neck.

"Ahhn..."

Acquired innate ability: Super Regeneration (Source: Shion)

-

After her soak in the hot spring, night had fully fallen. Theresa returned to her room and lay down on her bed.

"To acquire two skills in just one day... Though they may not be particularly useful for me."

The system had mentioned before that there was a chance of obtaining another's ability by draining their blood. However, it had been so long since she last gained any skill that Theresa began doubting whether she truly possessed this capability.

It didn't make sense; after all, Theresa was clearly European by descent.

Kallen hailed from Northern Europe, and with Kallen's genes coursing through her veins, Theresa naturally shared that heritage—undoubtedly making her European as well.

(TL Note: Idk what being European has to do with anything but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

-

Theresa gazed at the two skills she had acquired that day: Shuna's [Demon Arts] and Shion's [Super Regeneration].

While Shuna's Demon Arts offered some utility, it wasn't particularly game-changing for Theresa. Though Luna Kindred lacked long-range attack capabilities, her arsenal of firearms more than compensated for this shortcoming.

As for Super Regeneration, Luna Kindred already possessed formidable self-healing abilities, rendering the skill somewhat redundant.

"Ah... if only Rimuru could have blood," Theresa mused wistfully. Acquiring both Great Sage and Predator from him would be truly extraordinary...

Still, even without those divine gifts, things were going quite well as they stood.

Glancing at her list of close friends, Theresa noted the recent additions—Rimuru and Inky now joined their ranks.

Once Rimuru grew stronger and they ventured into new worlds, having such a powerful ally by her side would undoubtedly prove invaluable.

Commission suitable for host detected. Accept summon request?

"Hm? Another commission task?" Theresa was taken aback; another bounty mission so soon?

Nevertheless, any opportunity to complete tasks must be seized.

"Accept."

Initiating teleportation...

-

"The forest..."

Upon being teleported to her destination, Theresa's first instinct was to survey her surroundings. She found herself deep within a pitch-black woods.

The dense canopy above completely obscured the moonlight, leaving not even a glimmer of illumination beneath its shadowy veil.

Yet for Luna Kindred—a vampire—no darkness could hinder her vision. As she scanned their immediate environment, it wasn't until after this brief assessment that Theresa finally turned towards the one who had summoned her.

To her surprise, it wasn't a human at all, but rather a monstrous creature... A particularly renowned and colossal specimen: none other than a troll—the type often seen frolicking with goblins in fantasy tales.

The troll before her appeared utterly battered, covered in wounds that showed no signs of healing—an anomaly among these creatures. While trolls were rarely mentioned in the Slime universe, as classics of Western mythology, they naturally existed alongside goblins in this world.

In any realm, trolls were indispensable as high-tier magical beasts, known for their exceptional regenerative abilities. Their resilience made them nearly invincible against most adversaries.

As Theresa observed the troll standing before her, she noted its imposing height—roughly five or six meters tall—with four massive fangs jutting out from its mouth, far too large to be contained by mere lips.

Wrapped in the fur of some unknown creature, He held a bone club several meters long.

"Was it you who summoned me?" She glanced around, ensuring no one else was present. That could only mean the troll before her must have been the summoner.

To think I've actually been called forth by a troll, she mused.

"You tiny thing," the troll rumbled, eyeing the small figure with clear suspicion. "Are you truly that legendary demon capable of fulfilling any wish?"

The mere sight of this diminutive demon after his summons was utterly disappointing—what a failure!

"Huh? Uh... Fulfill any wish?" Theresa stammered, bewildered. What kind of nonsense is this? She wasn't an actual demon; even if she were, there was no way such a being could grant every single desire imaginable. Not even primordial demons could do that—it was simply impossible according to their ancient lore.

"Well then, let's start with your wish..." she ventured cautiously.

"My wish?" The troll growled, its voice deepening menacingly. "It's simple: Kill Hinata Sakaguchi, leader of the Holy Order and one of those so-called Ten Saints."

"If you can't manage it, prepare to be devoured!" With these words, the troll parted its massive jaws wide open, leveling a threatening gaze at Theresa.

Commission Request: Eliminate Hinata Sakaguchi

[Quest Reward: 100 Crystals, Troll's Soul]

[Accept?]

"Hinata Sakaguchi..." Theresa's expression grew serious as she studied the troll before her. She quickly realized why this creature, despite being a troll, could not heal its wounds on its own.

It was clearly injured by a holy knight—one with power befitting a saint.

However, it likely wasn't Hinata Sakaguchi herself who had wounded it. Against such a formidable opponent, a mere troll stood no chance of survival.

Hinata Sakaguchi, one of the Ten Saints (Awakened Demon Lord Rank), served as both the chief knight of the Holy Emperor's personal guard in the Holy Empire of Lubelius and the leader of the Holy Knight Order. As the Right Hand of God, she was recognized as the most powerful human across all Western nations.

Moreover, she bore the title of Hero—a single troll standing against her should have been no match whatsoever.

Thus, this quest seemed designed to torment Theresa deliberately.

Although the reward of "a hundred crystals" sounded enticing, Theresa was still in her developmental phase. Uncertain if she was yet a match for Hinata Sakaguchi, there was no way she would recklessly seek out trouble from someone so formidable.

"I decline," Theresa decided firmly.

Theresa immediately abandoned her mission.

"You're kidding me, aren't you, little one... Why don't I just crush you first and eat you up?" Upon hearing Theresa's refusal, the Troll wasted no time in raising its club high before smashing it down towards her without hesitation.

"Seeking your own demise," Theresa observed calmly.

As the massive club bore down on her, she didn't flinch or dodge. Instead, two blood-red short swords materialized in her hands as she raised them to meet the blow head-on.

Thud...

With a single strike, she effortlessly blocked the colossal weapon.
