What a wealth of quests!

Though none of these quests seemed particularly appealing, Theresa didn't let that bother her—after all, she wasn't exactly virtuous herself!

The last quest in particular caught her eye; it was clearly designed for grinding later on.

Without further ado, Theresa swiftly accepted them all.

"You seem quite elated," Rimuru observed curiously. "What's gotten you so excited?"

"Oh, nothing much. Just remembered something happy."

It dawned on Theresa then—she couldn't stay by Rimuru's side indefinitely. She had to venture out and complete those charming quests at some point.

However... she couldn't neglect their relationship either, given how many Demon Lords lingered around him.

Completing the blood-sucking quest from demon lords proved easy enough.

Alas, Rimuru lacked blood himself; otherwise, he could have become one of those mighty beings someday too.

"Rimuru, can't you transform into the appearance of any creature you swallow?" she asked thoughtfully. "Why not find a humanoid monster to consume?"

"But they're sentient beings..." Rimuru replied hesitantly.

"...right." Well then, Theresa mused, Rimuru truly is as kind-hearted as ever! It was precisely this innocence that granted him his extraordinary Unity Aura—a game-breaking advantage indeed.

Under Rimuru's stewardship, even creatures naturally hostile towards each other now worked harmoniously together, building a prosperous home where once there had been only strife and division.

-

Theresa had been trailing behind Rimuru all along. Truth be told, even Rimuru didn't know where they were headed; however, it was inevitable for them to explore their surroundings upon first emerging.

As they ventured forth, some utterly foolish and seemingly brainless demonic beasts attacked them. These creatures met swift doom at the hands of Theresa and Rimuru, who dispatched them without hesitation.

Rimuru then proceeded to devour every last one of these fallen foes. Its method of consuming food remained unchanged: enveloping the entire carcass in a thick liquid before swallowing it whole into its stomach pouch—a space that seemed virtually infinite in capacity.

This stomach pouch existed in another dimension, effectively giving it infinite space.

Watching Rimuru effortlessly absorb these demonic beasts, Theresa couldn't help but feel envious. If only I possessed such a bizarre yet powerful ability, she thought wistfully.

It seemed as if even the System couldn't bear this sight any longer, prompting with a message:

Host can potentially obtain skills by absorbing a demon's blood.

"Really?" Theresa questioned skeptically. "Why haven't I gained anything despite drinking so much?"

Just keep absorbing more times, and you will eventually acquire something.

"...," Theresa fell silent, realizing her abilities still paled in comparison to Rimuru's. She felt somewhat inadequate, though not entirely discouraged. After all, there was always room for growth and discovery in this fantastical world.

-

The Great Jura Forest was home to many monsters. They lived by the law of the jungle: survival of the fittest. Weaker monsters often became food for the stronger ones. From the moment they were born, these creatures understood this rule and struggled to survive in the forest.

Tempest Dragon Veldora had been sealed within a cave deep in the Great Jura Forest. The local demons revered him as their guardian deity. His presence maintained three centuries of peace throughout the forest, allowing even the most vulnerable among them to survive with minimal interference from predators.

However, when Tempest Dragon Veldora vanished, that delicate balance began to crumble.

Powerful monsters descended into madness, preying indiscriminately on the weaker members of their realm.

-

A horde of goblins appeared before Rimuru and Theresa—these creatures brandished various crude weapons, their green-skinned bodies trembling with fear as they knelt before the pair.

" Mighty ones," stammered what seemed to be their leader, addressing both Theresa and Rimuru but primarily focusing on him, "what brings you here?"

Unlike mindless monsters, though weak, goblins were intelligent beings. The lead goblin could sense the overwhelming magical energy emanating from Rimuru—a power so potent it was downright terrifying.

"Mighty ones?" Rimuru blinked in surprise. I'm just a cute little slime! he thought. As for Theresa beside him, she too was merely a soft young maiden—not exactly imposing figures by any stretch of the imagination.

"The magical energy around you..." Theresa helplessly reminded him.

She hadn't mentioned it earlier because it didn't affect her personally, but now, seeing the reaction of these goblins, she felt compelled to point it out. After all, even if one remains oblivious to their own aura, others can still perceive its influence clearly.

At that moment, Rimuru realized what was happening. He had been unknowingly emitting terrifying magic power. With the Great Sage's help, he quickly retracted his magical energy.

Theresa looked at the group of weak and ugly goblins before her. These were the first lackeys in Rimuru's control.

For some reason, protagonists from Japan seemed to really like goblins.

What with Overlord, Reincarnated as a Slime, Goblin Slayer...

It was all about goblins.

But these might be the luckiest goblins ever, since they're with Rimuru... They could end up facing off against demon lords one day.

-

The story unfolded like a typical anime: Rimuru and Theresa were led by the goblins to their village—a primitive settlement that seemed stuck in the Stone Age.

The entire village consisted of crude huts made from branches and leaves.

Upon arrival, an elderly goblin—so frail it looked as if a gust of wind could blow him away—greeted Rimuru and Theresa. This feeble creature was none other than the village chief himself, who would later transform into a formidable leader after being bestowed with a name.

This incident serves as a valuable lesson: sometimes, your best bet is to hitch your wagon to a rising star. No matter how hard you strive on your own, aligning yourself with the main character can yield far greater rewards.

-

Inside the tent, the goblin village chief explained the situation to Rimuru and Theresa: A group of magical beasts called the Fanged Wolf Tribe wanted to expand their territory and had set their sights on the land where the goblins lived.

Upon hearing this, Rimuru realized that it was directly due to him consuming the Storm Dragon—his mistake—that had caused this conflict. Without hesitation, he agreed to help resolve the issue.
