Hero or Villain, Both

I narrowed my eyes to look at the leader before finally saying, "Alright, it doesn't matter how strong you are since that isn't what I'm here for. As long as you can represent the ice demons, that's enough."

The leader gave a nod before saying, "Only why are you looking to talk to the one that can represent the ice demons? What are you looking for?"

Revealing the same smile as before, I said, "Like I said, I want to help you return to the territory of the demons."

"And we're supposed to believe that you would do that out of the kindness of your heart?" The leader gave a snort as he said this.

The other ice demons all looked like they thought the same.

I wasn't offended by this since this was just demon culture.

This was the reason why I had been aggressive in the first place.

If I wasn't, then they would have become suspicious as to whether I was a real demon or not.

But once they saw that I had the same mannerisms as any other demon, they let their guard down a bit. They didn't have any doubts as to what my identity was and they seemed to submit a bit since I was a stronger demon.

Still, there was a reason why I was here acting like a demon.

"It's very simple, I want you to serve someone."

The ice demons all knitted their brows the moment that they heard this.

The history of the ice demons was a complicated one.

They were a weak group of demons, but it wasn't as if they had been kicked out of the territory of demons right away.

Instead, they had actually spent some time serving other demons.

It was just that whenever they served other demon tribes, they had been used as disposable tools. Before they chose to serve other demon tribes, their population had been more than triple what their tribe currently had.

It was only because they had been used by those demon tribes that they had lost many of their members.

So they weren't exactly keen on serving someone else.

"I can see that you don't like this idea, but I can tell you that you won't be used in the same way. Instead, you'll receive something that will make you much stronger than before."

The ice demons still had the same look on their faces, as well as a look that made it seem like they thought of me as some kind of conman.

I just ignored all of this as I said, "You're afraid of my flames, but I haven't always had them. It was because I was helped by the one that I'm trying to introduce you to that I was able to gain this power."

Seeing the traces of doubts that they still had, I got rid of the flames and rubbed the ring on my finger.

The moment that I rubbed it, there was a change that happened.

The horns on my head became much smaller than before.

At the same time, the mana that I had been releasing also shrank in size and force.

The ice demons naturally sensed this and they all looked confused when they sensed this.

With a smile, I took out an ice crystal that I tossed over to the leader of the ice demons.

He looked at it with one brow raised before poking it with one finger.

The moment that he poked it, the expression on his face immediately changed.

He grabbed it in his hand before he was covered in ice.

Once he was covered in ice like this, he looked back up at me as a smile slowly appeared on his face.

"Don't you think about it." I said when I saw him looking at me like this.

The ice demon leader didn't care as he raised his hand and gathered ice in it.

But I just shook my head with a bitter smile and gave a simple snap of my fingers.
