Chapter 201: Twin Resonance Ignition
Rynar and Rynor stepped forward at the same time, flames swirling on one side and sparks crackling on the other.
Across from them, the remaining elders steadied their breathing, weapons shaking in their hands.
One elder gritted his teeth.
"No matter what weird transformation you two went through… You still can't beat us!"
Rynar tilted his head, a cocky grin spreading across his face.
"Are you sure about that?"
Rynor rolled his shoulders, lightning snapping across his arms.
"We've changed. And now it's time for you to realize it."
The elders shouted and charged first, launching numerous flame and thunder spells toward the twins.
The twins didn't dodge, block, or even flinch.
They just stood there and let every spell land directly on them.
Explosions erupted, resulting in smoke that covered the area.
The elders cheered in victory, thinking that the twins were done.
But the moment the smoke faded, the elders were in shock.
The twins were still there and standing without any injuries.
Rynar brushed ash off his shoulder.
"...That's all?"
Rynor cracked his neck.
"Feels like a warm-up."
The elders froze, faces twisting in disbelief.
"W-What?! How can fire not burn you?!"
"And how can lightning not paralyze you?!"
Rynar held up a hand, flames swirling into a tight sphere above his palm.
"It's simple."
Rynor summoned crackling thunder in his fingers.
"We changed."
The twins exchanged a nod.
Then moved.
Rynar blurred forward, flames exploding beneath his feet.
His fist sank into an elder's gut, lifting the man off the ground.
And then he connected it with an uppercut straight into his chin, sending the man flying into the air like a ragdoll.
Rynor, meanwhile, danced around another elder.
He spun once and launched a roundhouse kick straight to the elder's ribs.
A burst of lightning erupted from the impact, sending the man flying sideways, crashing through a stone pillar.
Another elder panicked and tried to cast a spell.
"F-Flame Wall!"
Rynar appeared in front of him instantly, flames spiraling around his fist.
"Nope."
BAM!
One punch and the elder folded instantly.
Rynor somersaulted over two elders rushing him.
Lightning sparked across his legs as he flipped.
"Try harder!"
He kicked downward midair, each strike sending shockwaves through the ground.
The elders flew back like bowling pins.
The courtyard trembled from every hit, every flash, every crackle.
Rynar and Rynor regrouped in the center, breathing calmly.
It was like they'd just done a quick warm-up set instead of beating a squad of clan elders.
One elder crawled backwards, fear all over his face.
"T-This isn't normal…! This isn't possible…!"
Rynar smirked and lit his fist ablaze again.
"It is now."
Rynor patted his brother's shoulder, lightning still dancing along his skin.
"Face it. We're built different."
Rynar nodded.
"And stronger together."
Garion then stopped in front of them, giving each twin a quick once-over.
"Good job. So? What do you think of your new physiques?"
The twins exchanged looks.
Rynar was the first to speak as the fire slowly faded from his body.
"It… feels insane, Master. I can control flames like it's nothing now."
Rynor nodded, electricity still sparking at his wrists.
"And my body feels way faster than before. I don't even feel the weight of my movements anymore…"
Then both of them frowned at the same time.
"But damn, Master…"
"It felt like we were being stabbed from the inside!"
Garion laughed loudly, waving dismissively.
"Hey, hey, come on. Didn't I tell you already? What part of that did you think was going to be comfy?"
Both twins sighed and rubbed their faces.
"Still sucks…"
Garion laughed and then jerked his chin toward the wrecked area.
"Anyway, stop worrying about that. You two did well today. Strong hits, good instincts. And that Twin Resonance ability of yours…"
He grinned wider.
"…absolute monsters. Perfect for tag-teaming."
Rynor puffed his chest proudly.
"Of course, Master."
Rynar nodded.
"No wonder you got so strong back then. If you awakened something like this…"
Garion raised an eyebrow.
"Oh? Compliments now? What's next, you two going to buy me dinner?"
They immediately went silent.
"…No thanks."
"…We're still broke."
Garion snorted. "Figures."
He glanced back at the beaten elders.
"Anyway, leave them here. Just let the other Revalis deal with them later."
Rynar stretched his arms with a tired groan.
"Good. I'm starving."
Rynor slapped his brother's back.
"Same. Let's get back to the gym before Master decides to train us again."
Garion smirked dangerously.
"Oh, I heard that."
Both twins froze.
Then they slowly turned their heads toward him.
"…Master."
"…We were joking."
Garion raised a brow.
"Were you?"
The twins shook their heads rapidly.
"Nope."
"No, absolutely not."
Garion laughed again and waved them forward.
"C'mon. Back to the gym. We need to regroup before Raviel returns, and I need to check if your bodies stabilized after the awakening."
Rynar sighed in relief.
"Finally."
Rynor stretched.
"Let's go."
---
Raviel paced back and forth on the deck of the flying ship.
"Rendric, how long until we arrive?" He snapped without looking back.
Rendric checked the compass-like navigation plate, sweat on his forehead from keeping the extreme speed.
"At our current pace… about four more hours, Patriarch. This is already our maximum speed."
Raviel clicked his tongue.
"Four hours… damn it."
Behind him, Dahlia leaned her elbows on the railing, kicking her legs lightly.
"Sir Raviel, don't worry too much," she said, trying to sound comforting but failing to hide her grin.
"Master Garion is insanely strong. He handled Elder Kalzor like he was a toddler. Do you really think your Grand Elder can beat our master?"
Arden, sitting cross-legged beside her, nodded calmly.
"Master won't lose. He looked excited before he flew off. That's always a good sign… I think."
Raviel froze mid-step and slowly turned to stare at them, expression dark.
"That's exactly what I'm worried about."
Both Dahlia and Arden blinked.
"Eh… what do you mean?" Dahlia asked carefully.
Raviel jabbed a thumb toward the distant horizon.
"That old monster Rakir is dangerous, yeah. But Garion… Garion is something else entirely. If he gets too excited…"
Raviel swallowed.
"… I'm scared my entire clan's main building will be a crater by the time we get there."
Dahlia laughed awkwardly.
"Ahahaha… Master wouldn't… destroy a whole building… right?"
Arden scratched his cheek.
"Um… maybe only half of it…?"
Raviel grabbed both of their shoulders dramatically.
"You two haven't seen Rakir when he fights seriously. And you also haven't seen Garion when he gets too hyped. If those two clashed full force..."
He pointed downward.
"...my beautiful clan building is DONE."
Dahlia and Arden could only offer weak smiles.
"…Good luck?" Dahlia whispered.
"…Let's hope the gym is still there," Arden added.
Raviel groaned and continued pacing.
"Four more hours… Please, heavens… please let there still be walls when I arrive…"
The ship continued at max speed as his disciples nervously looked at each other.
