Her Cultivation Diary

Chapter 1303: Brother Xiaosun Teaches the Dogs

The newly constructed road was wide and flat, with lush shrubbery on both sides. On the tour bus, everyone was chattering about the tick crisis and the deworming schedule, while a pack of fierce and handsome dogs ran alongside the bus!

They panted against the wind, their long legs powerful and nimble, with their fur glistening in the afternoon light, and their entire doggie faces full of contentment and freedom.

Especially the leader, Elizabeth, who ran at the front with a huge body paired with a cool, studded pink collar. She was practically like a fierce tiger princess—majestic and gorgeous.

Someone on the bus sighed, "Living in a village is better. We usually have to walk our dogs at midnight, just in case we scare someone night jogging."

"Exactly! In the city, they were so strict with big dogs recently, I didn't dare take mine out, afraid of complaints."

"I have to muzzle my dog when taking it out, otherwise it's difficult to get into the elevator, with so many kids in our community."

"It's really nice, watching them run makes them look so happy!"

Everyone chatted away, just like the dogs, basking in the gentle spring breeze. They walked past asphalt roads and around cement paths, and before they knew it, they saw towering symmetrical cliffs rising on both sides of a vast water surface, and lush large fields of riverside beaches at the foot of the slopes, stretching as far as the eye could see.

The sightseeing bus gradually stopped, and everyone continued sitting in awe as I sighed after a long pause, "It's really beautiful!"

It's not the kind of beauty from meticulously sculpted urban floral parks.

It's the kind of carefree beauty that's deeply rooted in one's heart.

On the outermost edge along the vast riverside beach, there were large areas of high, lush reeds covering a significant area, reminiscent of the reed marshes in childhood wartime films, enough to play hide and seek endlessly.

Every now and then, colorful ducks would leisurely swim out from there, sparking curiosity to explore and find the hidden treasure of duck eggs.

On the other side, connected to the river's edge along the mountain slopes, there were clusters of little lotus sprouts sporadically standing up in the shallow riverbank. Occasionally, one or two small, pitifully and adorably green leaves unfurled, clearly newly planted lotus roots.

Shifting attention to the other side, the riverside beach connected to the reed marshes boasted an assortment of varying heights of pasture grass... everyone couldn't recognize the varieties, but they knew it was neatly and charmingly lush.

But within the innermost fenced area: "That one looks familiar... is it sorghum?" someone curiously asked.

Zhang Yanping glanced over and replied, "Oh, no, that's sweet cane, it looks a bit like sorghum but it's not the sorghum we eat."

"It's like a slimmed-down version of green sugarcane, it's really sweet when it ripens in the summer. Our people and dogs all love it."

"But it hasn't grown tall yet, and the cattle and sheep love it, so it's fenced off."

But clearly, the fence was low and rough, and a little calf mooed as it approached, eagerly wanting to taste the restricted treat.

In an instant, a black and white streak of lightning charged over from a distance, loudly admonishing in front:

"Woof!"

After it stopped, the vividly white and clear markings on its coat were particularly striking, as its fur flowed like satin in the river breeze. It stood there with an air of seriousness; the entire pasture was its domain.

How handsome!

"Whoa!" someone couldn't help but exclaim, "Dog Brother, isn't that the Border Collie you were selling in the group last year? I distinctly remember the black and white pattern!"

"Really? If I had known the Border Collie was this handsome, I wouldn't have been afraid of being looked down upon for my low intelligence and missed it!"

"Be cautious, be cautious! It might just be raised well at the owner's home. If it were with us, it might really look down on us."

Zhang Yanping glanced over, recognizing the white spot on the forehead as Little Ten, and helplessly sighed, "Stop with the exclamations, it really is!"

"Other than Song Tan and Qiaoqiao, these two Border Collies look down on everyone."

"It seems like there's no one in the world smarter than them. They've practically become the tyrants of the pasture."

Yet despite such words, seeing its imposing appearance, a group of devoted dog folks humbly said, "Honestly, my IQ isn't very high either. If it's willing to command me, I'd happily listen."

"Yeah, don't you think it's cool? We could play real-life CS games together and plan tactics."

Such antics, Brother Xiaosun couldn't quite grasp the state of dog owners today.

He thought to himself, why even bother talking to you lot!

Meanwhile, another group was raring to go: "When will the Border Collie have puppies? Can I reserve one?"

Zhang Yanping thought based on age, they were about to reach adulthood, but mentally... referencing the other dogs at home, [unaccomplished careers, no sense of settling down] was an issue.

Hence, he avoided the topic: "Come on, have your dogs all arrived? I'll call Da Wang over to get acquainted first."

"All the stray dogs in this area have acknowledged Da Wang as the boss, no one can approach without its permission."

According to conversations between Chen Chi and Qiaoqiao, five stray dogs have already acknowledged Da Wang as the boss, but they are too disheveled to be allowed near the riverside beach.

And when the elder dogs raise pups, they occasionally share some dog food—like bringing a meaty bone to distribute.

Everyone turns a blind eye to this.

But in the big pot of stewing meat at the mountain, some extra staple food and bones were added each day.

In any case, everyone summoned their dogs individually. Extending his arm, Brother Xiaosun put his arm around Elizabeth's shoulder, quietly whispering like sending a child to perform:

"Elizabeth, you're the best looking and most outstandingly raised in your litter!"

"Raising you has been a significant financial burden on Dad."

"So this time, in the matchmaking, the dog can't lose face!"

"If you blossom, butterflies will come!"

"Just be yourself! You can sit, lie down, roll, follow commands, eat gracefully, and eat only three chicken legs at a time... Don't say anything, just show!"

"Don't become a sycophant. It's worthwhile if it works out, but if not, there's so much dog shame..."

"Anyway, see that? Dad put thought into choosing your suitor—that Da Wang in front, isn't he handsome?"

"Take him down!"

"Reclaim the dignity I lost last year!"

Such whispered words stunned the men and women giving similar advice to their own dogs nearby:

"Dog Brother, you're really putting yourself out there!"

"You lost dignity last year? Clearly, it was my William/General that lost dignity, okay?"

"Right! You're such a good matchmaker, why didn't you help make connections for us last year? You didn't save the trump card for your own Elizabeth, did you?"

Everyone mocked, "Cunning! Dog thief! Bootlicker!"

Brother Xiaosun raised his chin, "Who's the bootlicker?"

"I'm clearly teaching not to bootlick, okay?"
