Heavenly Opposers

Chapter 303-Seeds of a New Era

The shimmering plasma displays on the walls of the Realm Scrapper's initiation chamber pulsed with soft, ambient light, casting an ethereal glow upon the figures within. Azrail observed his mother, Lan, and his sister, Xuanyin, alongside his grandparents, Guo Ai and Fulu Ai, and his uncle Max and aunt Kia. They were all seated, eyes closed in deep concentration, slowly adapting to the incredibly pure Qi that saturated the atmosphere. The initial shock of the sudden transport had faded, replaced by a focused determination to absorb the boundless energy around them.

Yun's face, usually calm and composed, held a hint of awe, her features softening as her body gradually synchronized with the powerful Qi. Azrail felt a familiar warmth emanating from her, a testament to her inherent strength and adaptability. Beside her, Xuanyin remained as still as a statue, her presence a silent testament to her unwavering focus. Azrail, through their deep connection, could feel the subtle tremors of excitement coursing through her usually cold demeanor, coupled with a budding sense of wonder. Her eyes, even closed, conveyed a silent question, a hunger for understanding that echoed his own ambitious spirit, she can't take i all in yet but even then a nourishment is still needed.

'Looks like they're getting used to it faster than I anticipated,' Azrail mused, a small, knowing smile playing on his lips. 'My family is indeed capable of great things.' He had chosen this path for them, a path to heights beyond their wildest dreams, and this was merely the first step. The Realm Scrapper, a marvel of scientific and spiritual development, was the perfect crucible for their transformation.

He glanced at Guo Ai, his grandfather, who, despite his boisterous personality, now wore an expression of profound focus, his stylish beard unmoving. Fulu Ai, his grandmother, radiated a gentle yet firm aura, her hands clasped, a faint glow around them indicating her steady progress. Max, his uncle, had shed his usual comical worry, his features tightened in concentration, a rare seriousness gracing his face. Then there was Kia, his little aunt, whose Qi was already rumbling with an innate power, her progress monstrous even at this initial stage.

'Kia, in particular, is a wildcard,' Azrail thought, his eyes narrowing slightly. 'Her potential is immense, a double-edged sword that needs careful handling.' He was aware of the ominous threads that circled her, the connection to Anya, the Scourge of Realms. 'But that too, can be turned to my advantage.' His plan for Anya was audacious, a testament to his ruthless cunning, and Kia was intrinsically linked to it.

"Huff... the Qi here is... astounding," Yun muttered, her eyes fluttering open, a gasp escaping her lips as she took another deep breath of the potent energy. Her expression, though still in awe, was quickly returning to its usual playful cunning.

Azrail chuckled, "Welcome to the true beginning, Mother. This is just a fraction of what this place offers." He reached out, gently patting Xuanyin's head, who, sensing her mother's awakening, also slowly opened her eyes. They were the same deep black as his, but now a newfound clarity seemed to reside within them, a spark of awakening that promised immense growth.

Xuanyin silently leaned into his touch, her hand instinctively reaching out to grasp his, a familiar gesture that spoke volumes of her attachment. 'She's so pure, so fiercely loyal,' Azrail thought, his heart softening. 'And I will ensure she reaches heights no one can imagine.' He had already made plans for her, far beyond just curing her cold, aiming for her to rule over great powers in the third heavens, specifically the Ice Phoenix shrine.

Yun, having fully regained her composure, looked around the advanced room with a critical yet impressed gaze. "This place... it puts even the Imperial Palace to shame," she remarked, her eyes twinkling with a mix of ambition and appreciation for the sheer power on display. "And the Qi... it's intoxicating. No wonder you insisted on bringing us here."

"I did promise you a long road ahead, Mother," Azrail replied, a matching sly smile gracing his face. "And this is merely the groundwork. We have much to do to build the greatest power that masks the cosmos." His words carried the weight of his conviction, a calm declaration of his boundless ambition.

Guo Ai finally stirred, his eyes snapping open with a renewed vigor. "Azi! This feeling... it's unlike anything I've ever experienced! My body feels alive, pulsating with strength!" he boomed, a hearty laugh escaping him. He looked at his grandson with immense pride, his earlier concerns about the path Azrail chose now overshadowed by the intoxicating taste of newfound power.

"Indeed. The potential here is boundless," Fulu Ai added, her voice serene but with an underlying current of excitement. Her gaze met Azrail's, a silent understanding passing between them.

Max, too, shook his head, looking around in disbelief. "To think I've lived my entire life in ignorance. This place... it's a miracle!" His earlier goofiness seemed to be momentarily forgotten, replaced by a genuine sense of wonder.

But it was Kia who rose first, her eyes burning with an intense fire. The coldness around her intensified, not from the Qi, but from the sheer force of her awakening ambition. "Nephew," she began, her voice sharper, more focused than before. "How do we get more of this? How do we get stronger, faster?" Her competitive nature, coupled with her newfound drive, was palpable.

Azrail looked at his family, a surge of satisfaction filling him. Their reactions were exactly what he had anticipated. 'The seeds are planted,' he thought. 'Now to cultivate them.'

"Hold yourselves for a moment," Azrail commanded, his voice firm but laced with an undeniable charm that settled their eager minds. "First, you must all stabilize your internal Qi, adapt fully to this environment. Taking too much too soon will harm your foundation." He scanned them with his enhanced senses. "Kia, your progress is indeed good but you must still heed caution. The path to power is not a sprint, but a marathon."

Kia, despite her eagerness, nodded. She respected Azrail's strength and understanding, having personally experienced his overwhelming power.

Yun, ever the pragmatist, interjected, "While the training is vital, Azrail, we still have matters to attend to outside. The auction needs preparation, and we can't be absent for too long." Her eyes held a mischievous glint, knowing Azrail's ambitious nature.

Azrail smiled, "Indeed, Mother. And that's where Nayan and Valencia come in. They are already assembling the necessary resources and personnel. This Realm Scrapper has more than enough to handle all our needs, and its time dilation allows us to train here while very little time passes in the outside world."

'The beauty of the Realm Scrapper,' Azrail mused internally. 'A perfect hiding place, a perfect training ground, and a perfect base for my burgeoning empire.'

"I also wanted to ask about the auction, Mother," Azrail continued, his gaze returning to Yun. "Did you manage to get more intel on the competing forces, especially the Imperial family's movements?" He had given her tips on what to do before he brought them here.

Yun smirked, "Of course. Your grand entrance at the Royal City, Azrail, has thrown them into a frenzy. The Emperor, Liang, is already scrambling, trying to understand your depth. He's trying to gather weaknesses, and his wives, Liam's other women, are predictably stirring trouble for Valencia and Raena." She let out a soft, satisfied chuckle. "It seems your reputation precedes you, my son."

Xuanyin, still holding Azrail's hand, subtly squeezed it. Azrail understood. She was absorbing every detail, connecting the dots of the intricate power play, her silent nature belying a sharp, observant mind.

'She's growing stronger, not just in spirit, but in understanding,' Azrail thought, a surge of pride swelling within him. 'Soon, she'll be able to stand beside me, a true queen of ice.'

"Good," Azrail said aloud, his eyes gleaming with a calculating light. "Let them scramble. The more chaos, the more opportunities for us to rise." He had planned for this, meticulously orchestrating every event to serve his ultimate goal of domination.

"And your disguise for the upcoming events?" Yun asked, her eyes narrowing in a teasing manner. "I assume you have something spectacular planned to further 'confuse' our enemies?"

Azrail's smile widened. "Of course, Mother. After all, the element of surprise is a powerful weapon. And who better to wield it than the master of shadows himself?" His voice carried a hint of mischief, a subtle nod to the dark powers he commanded.

Xuanyin blinked, her grip on his hand tightening slightly, a silent affirmation of her trust and unwavering support.

'This is just the beginning of our journey,' Azrail thought, looking at his family. 'A journey that will shake the very foundations of the cosmos.'
