He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact

Chapter 361. Zarek Acts

Dahlia's eyes glowed faintly with malevolent redness.

Tccchhhhh!

The monstrosity halted for a second — temporarily petrified — turned into stone.

But it wouldn't last forever.

That was all the time she needed.

Because in a battle between awakeners, a second could determine life and death.

" Ophidian collosus," she muttered — her voice drowned in the screams and attacks of her society members, and the bestial sounds of spawned creatures they were battling.

Then, her form expanded — she grew to the size of the monstrosity that had previously towered above her in a brief moment.

The monstrosity looked like a small hill, something she had trouble running from a moment ago.

Something that almost crushed her to death just a moment ago.

However, thanks to her petrifaction, she had gained a moment to make a large difference in the battle.

The ability to concentrate universe energy in her eyes and activate her petrifaction affinity had taken a while.

She had engaged the creature several times — narrowly evading deadly strikes and attacks that could have killed her — to buy time for this moment.

But in the end, it had paid off.

Her expanded form, roughly about the size of the enemy she was battling — petrified for a moment — struck.

The air tore like a sheet of paper wherever the hand fell towards.

Boooooooomm..!

Finally, the attack that bore the weight of a looming apocalypse landed on the head of the petrified, ginormous, dinosaur-looking creature.

For a moment, it was like time had stopped.

Until the petrified creature broke into smithereens of stone — its broken pieces shattering across various directions.

She reverted back to her previous form — green armor glowing faintly, hair dancing wildly in the wind.

She watched as the broken smithereens of stone turned into the dead flesh of the creature she had just killed.

" Close call," she sighed at the sight. " A moment of delay or hesitation and the petrifaction would have worn off — and I would have probably been dead right now."

Dahlia checked the rankings.

Her individual position was not bad.

But her society members were not doing so well, and from the rankings, the other societies were not faring better after all.

The Sword Tribunal Society had left the other societies in the dust when it came to average rankings — their total society credit results ranking them at the top.

Even though they had first years who were weaker than the members of the other societies?

How was Kailen Darkhaven doing it?

And where was he on the rankings?

What was he cooking up?

Dahlia sighed.

" I don't have any personal feelings against you, Kailen Darkhaven, for what happened between you and the Arcane Empowerment Sect. But the opportunity to become the personal disciple of the sect leader is not something I can pass up. And if killing you will make that possible, then I won't hesitate."

A glint of determination and ruthlessness flashed through her eyes as she spoke.

In another region of the secret realm, a slim figure moved with undeterred agility — his society members spread towards multiple directions as they followed his lead.

This was Riba Harker, president of the Harkers Society.

Wielding two daggers, he weaved through spawned creatures with uncanny speed and precision — as though he had eyes everywhere — leaving society members and the empirewide audience in awe.

His battle instincts were off the charts — each strike, dodge, parry, counter — attested to the fact.

Yes, the previously fat fellow who had gone on a diet recently was an assassin-based awakener.

Don't get this wrong — although he was previously a fat fellow, that didn't affect his abilities in any way.

Suddenly…

The ground above which he stood seemed to part — turning mudlike.

Riba felt a threat beneath him.

Then he muttered, " Drifter's agility."

A movement technique that boosted his agility to terrifying heights.

Gales of wind swirled beneath his feet.

It was as if he had teleported.

His figure, in the blink of an eye, appeared a few distances away from where he previously stood.

Looking around, Riba noticed that a few of his society members had their legs entwined in some deep crimson vines that pulled them downwards into the mudlike ground.

They activated affinities, movement techniques, teleportation runes — but it was to no avail.

It was as if all their attacks were not working.

" What the hell…"

" Mr. President, help us!"

" No— I— don't know— wanna fucking die here!"

Their desperate screams resounded in the environs — sending chills running down Riba's spine, and that of the other society members who had been fortunate enough to either notice the threat and escape before they became victims, or were fortunate enough to not come across the traps in the first place.

It was then that he recalled something hinted at in the rules — something that stated that spawned creatures and opponents from other societies were not the only threat in the society wars.

Riba heaved a sigh of relief for not being the brunt of the trap.

From his observation, the fact that the victims had their preternatural attempts to come out of the traps not working meant that , the red vines , on coming into contact with the victim had some sort of ability to nullify the abilities of the victim and anything that relied on universe energy to work.

He felt a chill creep up his spine just at the thought.

But,

His eyes glinted with determination.

All these sacrifices could not be in vain.

These were strong society members he had just lost. But it would be worth it later.

Right now, he was currently trying to meet up with the other society presidents so they could deal with Kailen Darkhaven and the members of his society.

No matter how strong he was, there was no way he could fight them all at once.

" With the large amount of credits The Sword Tribunal Society members have garnered, getting rid of them would be akin to getting rid of fat cattle. We'd earn these points in one fell swoop. And after that, we have to do everything possible to emerge as the top society. Let's move!"

" Yes, sir!"

The society members replied like battle-hardened warriors, following their leader.

*****

In another region of the secret realm, a handsome, tall male elf stood silent — alongside his society members.

What was ensuing right now was breathtaking to watch — despite the chaos that was ensuing right now.

There was only one word for the occurrences — beautiful chaos.

The members of the Atrexia Society were surrounded from all directions by spawned creatures — yet they were untouchable, at least that's what it seemed and looked like, from what the spectators from all across the empire were witnessing.

They had terrifying precision, agility, and battle instincts when it came to launching, predicting, and evading enemy attacks.

Several arrows of different kinds — formed from different affinities: wood, wind, ice, fire, earth, etc. — would impale the spawned creatures and kill them.

The Atrexia Society members were always baiting the creatures, luring them to reveal their weak spots and striking efficiently — to end them.

The Atrexia Society had not been one for constant show of power in the academy.

Of course, that didn't mean anyone underestimated them.

But today, the whole empire was watching something mind-boggling.

Turns out they had been underrated completely.

They were strong — especially their president, Zarek Atrexia.

Despite the breathtaking display of indomitable power and might by his society members, Zarek was on another level.

He never launched second arrows towards the same creature.

Each single launch claimed a life and caused his rankings to climb.

Zarek suddenly appeared on the top leaderboard of the society wars.

He had beaten every president.

And his society members were literally butting heads when it came to the rankings with the members of the Sword Tribunal Society.

In the outside world, the spectators were going bonkers.

" This is insane!"

" Did you see that? Based on the strength he has demonstrated, he's a rank 5 supreme stage ascendant level lifeform "

" Shit, this guy is terrifying. I should have placed bets on him!"

" That Zarek guy is just dominating the individual rankings with just his arrows?"

" I thought his sister was terrifying, but this guy is on another level!"

" His society members are really off the charts too!"

" Damn! I lost the bet thanks to you! You said they won't have anything good to offer!"

" Fuck off! The society wars have not even ended yet. Don't be too hopeless!"

" Zarek, I wanna have your baaaabiiiieeees!"

" Just your presence will help me ascend the dao and fulfill my destiny!"

******

Kailen stood above the forest region — having observed the various states of every president and their societies through the eyes of his shadow creatures.

He had been oddly patient.

Suddenly, he smiled.

" It seems Zarek has started to act. Well, as a president, I can't let others look down on me, can I?

Perhaps, it's time I start to hunt some spawned creatures."
