Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Hattori's Secret

A tailed beast is a massive, chakra-based creature with tangible life force and multiple tails.

In the beginning, there was only one: the Ten-Tails, a fusion of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki and the Divine Tree. Later, the Sage of the Six Paths, Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, defeated and sealed it. To prevent its resurgence, he divided the Ten-Tails into nine separate entities, creating the One-Tail through Nine-Tails.

Being creatures of chakra, tailed beasts possess immense destructive power and immortality. Even if killed, they eventually regenerate. These traits drew human interest, and wars erupted among nations over the desire to possess and wield the tailed beasts.

Then came Hashirama Senju, known as the "God of the Ninja World." Not only did he establish the village of Konoha after defeating various clans, but he also captured all the tailed beasts. To maintain balance among the nations, he left the Nine-Tails in Konoha, while distributing the rest among the other ninja villages.

Hashirama's goal was peace, but sadly, after his death, wars reignited, and the tailed beasts became trump cards for each nation.

However, these beasts were untamable and refused to submit to humans. Thus, the concept of jinchūriki, human hosts capable of controlling them, was born.

When Chiyo mentioned that someone had used a tailed beast at the border, three words immediately came to Hattori's mind: **jinchūriki**.

Chiyo clearly thought the same, which explained her grim expression.

"It might be Konoha's jinchūriki. Ebizō probably didn't expect something like this. This complicates things!"

She then looked at Hattori.

"Hattori, you've encountered a tailed beast before—the monster that appeared in the village last time. Do you have any way to handle it?"

"Uh?" Hattori was stunned, not expecting Chiyo to ask for his opinion.

Seeing his reaction, Chiyo shook her head and gave a bitter smile.

"Of course, no matter how talented you are, you're still just a kid. What could you possibly do against something like a tailed beast?"

"…"

Seeing Chiyo's expression, Hattori frowned, then hesitated before speaking.

"Teacher, do you trust me?"

"Why would you ask such a strange question?" Chiyo gave him a puzzled look.

"You're my student; why wouldn't I trust you?"

Hearing this, Hattori bit his lip, thought for a moment, and then asked, "What if I could use jutsu from another village? Would you still trust me? Would you think I'm a spy?"

"Hmm?"

Chiyo seemed to understand and gave a half-smile.

"Who told you that learning jutsu from another village makes you a spy? Jutsu transcends borders. If you can master it, that's your skill. How does that relate to being a spy?"

"What about bloodline-limit jutsu?"

"Even if it's a bloodline-limit… wait, bloodline-limit jutsu?"

Chiyo's eyes widened as she processed what he was saying.

"You have a bloodline limit?"

Hattori nodded, then lowered his arms and clenched his fists.

"I can use this!"

As he spoke, five golden chains shot from his abdomen, diving into the ground and re-emerging beneath Chiyo, instantly binding her like a cocoon.

It happened so quickly that Chiyo didn't even react until the chains released her and disappeared.

Only then did Chiyo realize what had happened, her face filled with shock.

"This is… the Adamantine Sealing Chains of the Uzumaki clan? Hattori, are you an Uzumaki descendant? But their hair is red. Why is yours…?"

Before she could finish, Hattori dunked his head into a washbasin and scrubbed vigorously.

When he lifted his head, the water had turned black, and his hair had transformed from a dull brown to a vibrant red.

Seeing this, Chiyo's eyes widened further, her face shifting from shock to confusion, then from confusion to self-reproach, and finally to guilt-ridden sorrow.

Hattori had never seen so many emotions cross someone's face at once, leaving him a bit panicked.

"Oh no, what's going on here? What could she be thinking? Is she planning to kill me?"

As he debated whether to make a run for it, Chiyo suddenly spoke in a hoarse voice.

"Turn around."

Hattori: "(Д*)"

Oh no… she's going to kill me, isn't she?

In that instant, he remembered a scene from a movie: a ruthless boss holds a wooden club and tells his underling, "Kids, look away," just before whacking him!

(D`) Terrifying!

He instinctively took two steps back, staring at Chiyo in terror.

"Teacher… I only awakened a bloodline limit, I didn't betray the village. Can't you give me a break, considering all the time we've spent together?"

Chiyo: "..."

What nonsense.

Hearing his words, Chiyo's expression softened as she gave him an amused glare.

"Who's trying to kill you? What goes on in that head of yours? It's just a bloodline limit. What's the big deal? Tell me, who else knows about this?"

"Uh…" Surprised by her reaction, Hattori hesitated before replying.

"Only two people know—Karura and you."

"Karura? Rasa's wife?"

Hearing his response, Chiyo gave a look of realization.

"She's the closest to you in the village. It makes sense. She was the one who told you not to tell me, wasn't she? Do you trust her more than you trust your teacher?"

"Uh…"

Hattori was momentarily taken aback by her question.

Quickly recovering, he grinned and moved over to Chiyo, deftly massaging her shoulders.

"Heh heh, what are you talking about, Teacher? Of course, I trust you! That's why I'm telling you everything."

"Oh, really?" Chiyo raised an eyebrow and looked at him, a slight smile tugging at her lips.

"Then do you have any big secrets that even Karura doesn't know?"

"Um… I…"

Seeing his hesitation, Chiyo's expression changed, and she grabbed his ear.

"You little rascal, so you do have another secret? Out with it!"

Hattori: "Σ(っ°Д°;)っ"
