Harry Potter The Unseen Heroine

Chapter 47: The Slytherin Connection

I continued to ask Professor Flitwick questions for the next hour, everything I could think of. Supposedly my father was gifted in Transfiguration, while my mother excelled in Potions, and to Flitwick's delight, Charms. At the end of our conversation Flitwick offered me a cupcake, and I made my way through the corridors, lost in thought.

For one I was pleased, I knew so much more about my parent's now. I would have to tell Harry at some point, when I had the chance. However I was bothered by the fact that Hagrid, and now Professor Flitwick were keeping secrets from me?

What were they hiding?

"Potter." Someone's voice pulled me out of my thought's and I turned to see Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle.

"Hello Draco." I said nervously.

"You look stressed, did your brother do something stupid again?" Draco asked as Crabbe and Goyle burst into laughter.

"I already told you, I'm not getting involved in with the Gryffindor, Slytherin Rivalry." I replied shaking my head.

"Relax, it's just a joke. You must be used to your brother's stupidity anyway." Again Crabbe and Goyle roared with laughter.

"Are you and Harry going to be at each other's throats for the next seven years?" I asked.

"Your brother is free to apologize for his transgressions. Until then, yes." Draco said firmly.

"Whatever. What do you want anyways?" I asked.

"Nothing actually. Like I said you looked stressed. Cant a classmate worry?" He asked me smirking.

"I guess."

"So what are you stressed about?" He again asked me.

"Oh, just thinking."

"Isn't that what you Ravenclaw's do all the time?" Draco asked.

"If you believe the stereotype."

"Us Slytherin's know all about stereotypes." Draco replied smirking.

"I'm well aware. When I first asked about the houses, I was warned multiple times against Slytherin." I replied.

"Who told you that?" Draco asked me frowning.

"Ron." I replied, knowing no matter what I said he'd go after Ron anyways.

"Typical of Weasley." Draco said shaking my head.

"Like I said, I'm not getting involved." Trying to change the subject.

"Suit yourself. But I have high hope's you'll see reason."

"See Reason?" I asked.

"See that your brother choice of friend's, his insult's towards me, his selection into Gryffindor, is the wrong path. And that if you sided with me and my parent's, you would be far better off."

"Draco, I don't want any trouble, but Harry's my brother. I would never choose you or anyone else over him."

Draco looked disappointed, then shrugged.

"Suit yourself. I have faith, with time, you'll learn to see it my way. After all, you are a Ravenclaw."

Before I could respond Draco marched off, flanked by Crabbe and Goyle. Leaving me with a headache of thoughts.

I woke up and made my way to the common room. I found Anthony sitting on an armchair, looking quite excited.

"I found the perfect spot. Fourth floor classroom, hasn't been used in year's." He told me excitedly.

"How do you know?" I asked.

"The room was filled with dust, in fact the entire hall was. I spent yesterday afternoon cleaning it." He explained. I nodded as Lisa made her way over to us.

"You have everything you need?" She asked Anthony.

"Yes."

"What time?" She asked.

"Mid afternoon. After everyone's dispersed throughout the castle."

We left the common room about halfway to two, making sure to hide everything in our robes pockets.

"Just around this bend and we should be..."

"Hey Sarah!" Harry's voice interrupted Anthony as we all turned to face Harry and Ron.

"Hey...Harry. How are you?" I asked, hiding the Bezoar Egg behind my back.

"Nothing much, we were just trying to catch up on homework." Harry said.

"Sounds fun."

"What are you three up to?" Ron asked.

"Just out for a afternoon stroll." Lisa replied, clearly the three of us looked suspicious.

"In this part of the castle?" Harry asked.

"We were just curious."

"Well, anyways, do you three have Professor Binn's assignment done yet?" Ron asked.

"I do." I replied, trying to look as normal as possible.

"Would you help us with it, we've been stuck on it for hours." Harry asked, while Ron gave a pleading look.

"Of course...just meet me in the library at five." I said, looking to Anthony to make sure that would be enough time. He gave me a subtle nod as I turned back to the pair.

"Sound's like a plan. You three enjoy your...walk" Harry replied, as he and Ron sped off. And all of us collectively breathed a sigh of relief.

We entered the abandoned classroom. Like he had told us the room hadn't been used in ages, cobwebs. In the center of the room sat Anthony's cauldron. And the ingredients needed for the experiment.

"So what do we do?" I asked Anthony.

"I'll stir, you take the Chimaera tears." He said and handed me a vile. "While you take the Bezoar Egg." He said as he handed it to Lisa.

"So what are we trying to do again?" Lisa asked.

"That's the exciting part, I have no idea." Anthony said excitedly, then walked up to the cauldron.

"So where throwing random ingredient's into a cauldron to see what happens?" She asked.

"Indeed." Anthony replied as he began to stir the boiling water. "The scientific process can not be stopped." He added.

Anthony began to stir and steam began to fill the air. Me and Lisa shared a nervous glance.

"This won't...blow up and kill us, will it?" Lisa asked.

"Not kill." Anthony replied.

"How assuring." I stated.

"When I tell you, throw the ingredients into the cauldron." Anthony told us.

"We've already come this far." I told Lisa.

"In three."

"That water is boiling really hot."

"Two."

"I hope they don't expel us for this."

"One."

"Maybe we should have listened to Hermione..."

"Now!"
