Chapter 26: Going to Quidditch World Cup Final
Few days had breezed by since the day Harry had set up his plans in motion.
Today, finally the day had come… the day which marked the start of the events of Harry's fourth year. Today was the day of the Quidditch World cup final.
But this time it was going to be different at Harry was going to twirl everything on his finger as per his wishes.
Harry had dressed himself in his robes… the same old, baggy clothes which represented his poverty. No, it was not the time to upgrade these things but not a lot of days remained.
Harry arrived outside the wards of the Potter Manor and vanished with a twist of space.
.
.
.
When Harry reappeared next, he found himself near a shabby looking pub or inn.
He was here to pick up Hermione. Like him, Hermione had also been invited by the Weasley family… well she had been invited to stay with them for few days but on Harry's advice she had politely denied the invitation and had agreed only to attend the Quidditch final.
Not a moment he had appeared when he felt a presence approaching him quickly.
"Harry…" Hermione panted as she had run across the street to reach Harry.
"You can really apparate," she said in excitement.
Although in the past few weeks, Hermione had got used to these new changes in Harry thanks to his parents' diary but she would still awe for it. Sadly, she herself could not learn and try these things because of the underage restrictions on the use of magic.
"Hermione," Harry smiled warmly. "I have been using this to arrive to your house."
"Yes… but seeing myself is a different feeling," Hermione grinned.
"I told you that I can remove those underage restrictions… no would know it," Harry chuckled.
Hermione huffed, "Yes… but I would still be breaking the rules."
Harry shook his head but did not argue.
"Your parents left?" asked Harry.
"Yes…" Hermione muttered slowly. "They had work."
Harry only nodded and did not speak anything.
He then took hold of her hand, "Prepare yourself… you may feel your stomach churning."
"Are we going to apparate?" she asked in nervousness and excitement.
"Yes… but it won't feel much as we would be apparating a short distance… just across the street to Diagon alley but it would still give you a feel."
Hermione nodded and with a twist of space both of them vanished.
.
.
.
The duo appeared in an isolated street of Daigon alley. Hermione did not seem much affected by the apparition, only her breathing had turned heavy.
"Mr. Arthur would be waiting for us at the Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour," said Harry.
"Do not tell him or Ron about the new things I have been doing," he said in a serious voice.
"Yeah…" she replied. "You have already told me."
The duo walked towards the Ice Cream Parlour where they found Arthur Weasley already waiting for them.
"Harry… Hermione," he greeted them both pleasantly.
"Mr. Weasley," the duo greeted back in unison.
"I think we should proceed in haste… rest of the boys and Ginny are already waiting for the two of you," he said and took out a white handkerchief from his coat.
"This is a portkey," he continued.
"These are magical object enchanted to instantly bring anyone touching it to a specific location," Arthur described thinking that they might not know it.
Harry and Hermione touched the handkerchief.
"You may vomit afterwards…" Arthur grinned mischievously and muttered the activation word, "Quidditch."
With a twirl of space, the trio vanished from Diagon alley. They reappeared in a vast green expanse of space.
Arthur quickly looked towards Harry only to find him standing normally and was slightly shocked to see no sign of stress from Harry.
He then quickly observed Hermione whose face had slightly turned pale.
"You both are doing much better than expected," muttered Arthur.
He then took out a piece of parchment from his coat and looked in it.
"Here… we need to go in that direction," he said after pointing towards a certain direction.
.
.
.
While walking towards their destination, Arthur was greeted by few of his friends from the ministry and Arthur was quite enthusiastic in introducing them to Harry Potter.
Although Harry had expected and almost known this, he personally felt this feeling this time. Arthur Weasley was flaunting his connection with Harry Potter.
Even in his previous life Harry had made it absolutely clear to everyone that he did not like any attention but despite that the Weasleys would show off their connection with him.
Be it going for gathering their supplies for Hogwarts or dropping him at Hogwarts express… the Weasleys would always create a big ruckus as if purposefully drawing attention. All these were works which could have been done in peace.
Harry shook his head in lamentation. He had been too naive in his previous life to understand the motives of people behind their action.
.
.
.
After fooling a non magical human or muggle and his memory wiped for who knows how many times, as if practicing mind arts on a muggle was the most natural thing to do, the trio approached the tent where Harry would be meeting his so called best friend Ron Weasley.
