Harry Potter: Journey to Godhood

Chapter 402: Chapter 402: Orcs and Garona

After quickly browsing through Alaric's work, Llane excitedly handed it to Lothar.

Before long, Lothar had a rough understanding of the book's content.

The two exchanged looks of surprise, shock, and admiration directed at Alaric.

In any era and dimension, intelligence is an indispensable weapon for victory in war.

However, in a feudal kingdom like the Stormwind Kingdom, where have they ever seen such professional intelligence analysis?

To say it frankly, Alaric alone had summarized orc intelligence that far surpassed the entire collection by the Stormwind Kingdom.

Moreover, the analysis of the orcs in this book presented many angles that Llane and Lothar had never even considered.

As a general, Lothar had only understood the elements directly related to war, such as the orcs' military deployments, supplies, armaments, and soldier quality.

However, in Alaric's book, the orc race was comprehensively analyzed from various perspectives, including military, political, historical, cultural, biological, and sociological angles.

Through this comprehensive analysis beyond military aspects, Lothar saw many weaknesses of the orc race—weaknesses that could not be uncovered through military intelligence alone.

This way, the army of the Stormwind Kingdom could quickly grasp combat methods to deal with the orcs, and these commanders could fully develop strategies tailored to the orc's tactics, significantly increasing their chances of victory in battles against them.

Lothar even thought that if he had seen this book earlier, the casualties of the Stormwind Kingdom's army in the last battle against the orcs would have been at least halved.

"Truly... remarkable..."

This was the evaluation Lothar finally expressed.

Not just about the book but also about Alaric himself.

"Indeed, Archmage Sandor's talent... is truly impressive," Llane agreed.

"To write such a book indicates that Archmage Sandor has profound knowledge in many secular disciplines beyond just magic.

A polymath like this is truly unprecedented; in fact, I'm already thinking about how to invite him to become the Grand Chamberlain of the Stormwind Kingdom."

"Your Majesty Llane jokes; my ambition lies solely in the study of magic, and I can only let Your Majesty down," Alaric declined with a bitter smile.

Llane also realized that this request was somewhat unrealistic, so he moved on and proposed to transcribe Alaric's book, Preliminary Analysis and Speculations on the Orcs, a Suspected Otherworldly Race, to distribute it to the nobles and generals of Stormwind City.

Alaric had originally intended to write this book for that purpose, so he gladly agreed and also asked Llane to make several copies so he could take them back to Dalaran.

The first copy was sent back to Dalaran along with a report to the Kirin Tor Council, of course, including a sample of orc blood as evidence.

According to the lore of World of Warcraft, the orcs were originally a native race on the planet Draenor, living peacefully in clan tribes under the leadership of their tribal chiefs, venerating the spirits of their ancestors and the elemental teachings of shamanism.

However, one of the leaders of the Burning Legion, the deceiver Kil'jaeden, set his sights on this race.

He deceived the orcs' most respected shaman mentor, Ner'zhul, telling him that their neighbors, the Draenei, were plotting to exterminate all orcs.

Thus, the orcs slaughtered and enslaved the Draenei, and in the process, to enhance their combat strength, they consumed the blood of a dreadlord named Mannoroth, gaining great power while transforming their once red skin into green.

This demonic Fel energy not only granted the orcs tremendous power but also made them irritable and bloodthirsty. The demons exploited this to incite them to attack Azeroth.

Alaric knew very well that the mages of Dalaran actually had no desire to interfere in the secular changes of kingdoms but were rather vigilant about the existence of demons.

Thus, if he wanted to persuade these mages to participate in the war against the orcs, the orc blood containing Fel energy was the key.

Compared to communications with the Stormwind Kingdom, the speed of messages exchanged with Dalaran was much faster, but it would still take a few days.

While waiting for Dalaran's reply, another incident occurred for Alaric.

It was an ordinary afternoon, and Alaric was in his room giving a lecture to his two attendants—two mage apprentices—while passing the time.

Suddenly, heavy footsteps were heard outside, and soon the door was knocked on.

The apprentice, interrupted in their lesson, opened the door unhappily.

Standing outside was an old acquaintance, now a friend of Alaric, Anduin Lothar.

"Hey, Sandor, good afternoon," Lothar boomed, "I hope I'm not interrupting you. Could you come with me? There's some recent military news you might find interesting."

"Well then, let's pause our lesson here for now, and you can review on your own," Alaric nodded at the apprentices and followed Lothar outside.

In the corridor, perhaps thinking Alaric could withstand it, Lothar casually threw an arm around his shoulder as if treating him like a fellow warrior and said, "Hey, buddy, you might not know, but we caught a strange character."

"What do you mean?" Alaric asked, easily bearing the weight that would crush an ordinary mage.

"Our patrol caught a batch of orc scouts in Elwynn Forest," Lothar explained.

"That's pretty normal."

"Yes, we catch a few of these guys every couple of days..." Lothar paused mysteriously. "But this time, the captive is different."

"Oh?" Alaric looked at him.

Lothar lowered his voice deliberately: "This time, among the captives, there's a female orc."

"Really?" This news did surprise Alaric.

"Of course, it's true," Lothar said. "Based on your intelligence and our actual encounters with the orcs, it's quite rare for female orcs to go into battle.

This is the first time we've captured such a female orc. However, according to the soldiers' reports, she has some distinct characteristics."

"Like what?"

"The soldiers said she's much smaller than the average orc, has almost no tusks, and looks more like a human than the female orcs you described... They suspect... they suspect she might be a hybrid of human and orc."

After hearing Lothar's words, Alaric was somewhat surprised.

A suspected hybrid of orc and human? In his memory, the only character that fits this description and appeared around this time was the legendary hybrid, Garona.

This woman could be considered a key figure in the history of Warcraft.

Lothar obviously saw the interest on Alaric's face, so he took the opportunity to add,

"If you're willing, you can go take a look at her, probe her background, and see how she came to be."

"To help you guys gather some intelligence, right?" Alaric added.

"Uh... you could say that," Lothar said awkwardly, caught out by Alaric, but still asked, "What do you think?"

After considering it, Alaric finally agreed to the request.

"Alright, I'm indeed very interested in her. Where are you keeping her?"

"Northshire Abbey," Lothar said happily. "That's where our priests gather, and it's currently an important stronghold for us in Northshire."

"Okay, then I'll head to Northshire Abbey," Alaric nodded. "I'll set out tomorrow morning."
