Harry Potter: I'm James Potter.

Chapter 4: First birthday

James was born into the Potter Family, an ancient family of pure-blooded wizards. His parents, Fleamont and Euphemia Potter, had difficulty having children. However, to the couple's surprise and amazement, Euphemia became pregnant. James was born on March 27, 1960.

Today, James' mother, Euphemia, had put him in her stroller around noon. And she started playing with the baby with a strange toy that moved by itself.

James didn't want to disappoint his mother and played with her, even though it was a little embarrassing he felt very happy, as he noticed the love coming from Euphemia.

Although he had no memory of when he was a baby in his previous life, he found it impossible to imagine his previous mother, Elizabeth playing with him in this way.

With each passing day, he loved his parents more. He never thought that two people could be so loving. As in his previous life, he never felt love, it was a completely new feeling.

His father had a job, so he spent less time with him compared to his mother, but when he arrived he would pick him up in his arms and play with him.

The only bad thing that James noticed about his parents was that they seemed to be of an advanced age, between 40 and 45 years old approximately.

From what he could hear, his father and mother had difficulty having children, and had even given up hope of having a child of their own. Luckily they managed to have James, the bad thing was that they were of advanced age compared to the average parents, something that James didn't like at all, as he wanted to spend a lot of time with them.

It had been several months since he was born, and his love and bond with his parents grew stronger every day. It was what he always wanted, parental love. He remembered that the protagonist of the novel he read in his world, Harry Potter also wanted his parents, as he was orphaned and treated very badly by his aunt and uncle.

'Will he be my future son...' thought James with a strange expression on his baby face.

If he wanted it to be so, he should marry Lily. As he read the book, he felt very sorry for Harry's life, he slept under the stairs and was treated abominably by his aunt and uncle and his cousin used him as a punching bag.

Harry's life without love and being verbally and physically abused by his family was worse than Edward's life with the Rothschilds. Despite all this, Harry was a gentle child who was not swayed by hatred.

This made James really like the main character of the book and also somehow move on with his life, knowing that there were people in worse situations than him, even though it was a novel.

The book Harry Potter despite how little he read, was his favorite book and he enjoyed it very much, so he would like to give Harry a happy life, however, there is a long way to go for that. And besides he must fall in love with Lily, he doesn't even know about love, and if in this life he will like that girl.

His first birthday came on March 27, 1961. His parents prepared a big party for the first year of their beloved son. Both Euphemia and Fleamont were very proud of their little boy.

Although they would love him no matter what, James showed skills far superior to 1-year-olds.

At only 5 months old James was able to crawl, usually an average baby does this between 8 and 10 months. He could also say "Mom" and "Dad" and had a much larger vocabulary than the average child his age. His understanding was very high, as someone who reincarnated and spoke the same language as his past life, he understood perfectly what his parents were saying, he just acted a little silly, as it would be strange if he could understand everything they said.

Seeing his parents so proud of his small accomplishments made James want to continue to show his abilities to them and not let them down. In his past life his parents, although proud of him for his great genius, saw him as an obligation and showed no love for him.

In addition to his parents, several family members attended his first birthday, the most incredible thing is that some came through the chimney, one of them was his grandfather, Henry Potter.

"Father, you arrived" said Fleamont with a smile, approaching the old man.

"Yes, yes hi" said Henry not paying much attention to his son and looking for James who was in a cart near Euphemia.

"Look who we have here! My favorite person!" said Henry with a smile, as he eagerly picked up James.

"..." Fleamont looked with a hurt expression at his father but said nothing.

"Be careful" said Euphemia worriedly, watching Henry levitate James to play.

James, who had no grandfather in his past life, made Henry happy by laughing and even said 'Grandpa', which made Henry even happier.

In this year James' life changed radically. In his past life, his expression was stoic and he only smiled in meetings, but in a fake way, just acting. Now, however, he did it because it came from him and he wanted to make his family happy.

This was the best birthday he ever had in his life, for one simple reason: His relatives did show that they loved him. He got many gifts that would be considered strange in his past life. A miniature broom and a toy wand were the best gifts.

The most popular sport in the magical world is Quidditch: very dangerous and exciting or so he heard from his father and grandfather who are very enthusiastic about this sport played with flying brooms.

After his first birthday, James' childhood continued. Days turned into months, months into seasons. Soon, five years had passed since Edward had been reborn as James in this magical world.

Despite being born into a family of pureblood wizards with plenty of money, similar to the status of the Rothschild family of his previous life, his upbringing was different.

His parents, were very loving, going as far as being overly loving several times, however, this did not bother James at all. Their love was because James was their only son and they had him very late in their lives, which made them pamper him a lot.

In this life his parents let him do whatever he liked, if he liked he could dawdle, sleep all day, and play with his numerous toys, the routine was up to him to decide, something he never thought he would be able to do.

The only thing he had to study was reading, writing, and simple math, however, this was extremely easy for James who in his past life was a genius and had learned 5 languages to perfection. His parents did not know this, so he must have acted like he was learning at a super fast pace, which made both of them prouder.

Not counting his relationship with his parents what interested James the most were two things: Quidditch being his favorite pastime, his favorite team was Puddlemere United, which was also his grandfather and father's favorite team. And what fascinated him the most was magic, the whole of it, as Quidditch was a magical sport. Above all, performing magic spells.

Despite not possessing a wand, he could perform magic. To be specific, when he was 2 years old, he was able to use magic for the first time. He managed to levitate small and light objects such as toys or balls. This pleasantly surprised his parents, reinforcing the idea that their son was a genius.

It was unusual for a child to show signs of magic before the age of seven, or so the Ministry of Magic considered. And even more so if it was a two-year-old child, although it was not so surprising since in James' case he was a reincarnated soul.

Unlike other magical children, he could control his magic perfectly and it did not get out of control, since, as a 15-year-old reincarnated soul, he could control his emotions.

Already as a 5-year-old, he did not have the difficulties of when he was a baby. He could already speak fluently and move properly, which made things much easier, especially for learning magic.

James was in the library at home, reading a book, entitled: "How to teach your child magic from an early age".

His parents were still not letting him study books with more advanced spells since he didn't have a wand and they thought he was too young to learn something that would be taught to a first-year Hogwarts student.

As a good son, he obeys what his parents say, although if Euphemia or Fleamont found him reading such a book they would not scold him severely, but he does not want to be a spoiled child.
