Harry Potter: I'm an Exemplary Student

Chapter 18: The Sound of Nature

The whole Great Hall was silent.

People from other grades were waiting to watch the show. At the same time, the first-year students stared nervously at the dirty and torn hat, as if a giant Magical Creatures would jump out of it in the next second.

Then, the hat suddenly began to twist, and the tip of the hat swayed from side to side, and the brim of the hat on both sides undulated up and down as if dancing.

But the more Kyle looked at it, the more he felt something was wrong.

How should he put it? Kyle doesn't know who designed this set of movements. It looks like some kind of flat fish that likes to eat colleagues, but the movements are a bit stiffer and not as smooth as others.

Also, he's a bit ugly.

The Sorting Hat probably also knew that dancing was not its strong point, so it quickly opened a mouth-like opening and started humming.

"I'm a hatter.

But don't underestimate my appearance.

I was born thousands of years ago.

I have seen the world change.

I crossed the wilderness quagmire.

Also walked along the forest river.

Come on, put it on me.

Find the perfect House.

If you long for power, go to Gryffindor. They are brave, righteous, and courageous, and they can discover the courage buried deep in your heart.

Maybe you will join Slytherin. They are strong, calm, elegant, and self-possessed. There is no need to hide your ambitions and desire for power because everyone here is the same as you.

Hufflepuff is upright and loyal, tough and honest. Come here, and you will find the most trustworthy partner.

And Ravenclaw, if you have extraordinary wisdom and shrewd mind, then please don't hesitate. There are fellow travelers like you there.

Come on, put it on me.

Don't worry and be afraid.

I will tell you what your heart desires. "

When the song ended, there was thunderous applause. It was obvious that the little wizards in the magic world were very polite.

The Sorting Hat bowed to each of the four tables, then stood still.

Although the song of the Sorting Hat is a bit hard to describe, the first-year students can basically hear it. The so-called sorting should be done by wearing this hat.

This made many people secretly relieved.

Compared with the rumors they heard before, wearing a hat is not easy at all.

Isn't it just that the hat is a little dirty, a little old, a little ugly? It doesn't matter, it's just for a moment anyway, and you don't have to wear it all the time.

Professor McGonagall walked forward quickly, holding a piece of parchment in her hand.

"Whoever's name I call now will put on his hat, sit on the stool, and wait for the sorting."

Professor McGonagall glanced at the parchment.

"Thomas Albride."

A blond boy held his head high and quickly walked over and put on his hat. After a moment...

"Ravenclaw!" shouted the Sorting Hat.

The boy looked delighted. After taking off the Sorting Hat, he couldn't wait to walk to the Ravenclaw table, which was where the applause was the loudest in the Great Hall at the moment.

"Katie Bell!"

This time, it was also a little girl who ran up in a panic and put the sorting hat on her head.

Maybe because she was too nervous, she used too much force when putting on the hat, causing her whole head to poke into the hat, leaving only a neck outside.

"Ha ha ha ha!"

There was a burst of laughter in the Great Hall.

Professor McGonagall sighed upon seeing this and quickly stepped forward to help tidy up.

"Thanks, little Greg, I almost thought I was going to burst."

The Sorting Hat nodded to Professor McGonagall. "Without a doubt, Gryffindor!"

On the far left side of the Great Hall, a burst of warm cheers erupted from the Gryffindor table!

Fred and George stood on the stools, whistling excitedly, and it was obvious that they really liked this little girl.

Katie Bell ran away with a red face.

The sorting continued, but in order to prevent what just happened from happening again, Professor McGonagall felt that it was better for him to preside over it, so he did not step aside as before but stood behind the four-corner stool, holding the sorting hat in one hand. Holding the parchment in one hand.

"Cho Chang!"

An Asian girl slowly walked to the four-corner stool and sat down. Professor McGonagall stood behind her and gently placed the Sorting Hat on her head.

"Ravenclaw!"

"Oh... that's great!"

The two freshmen were both Ravenclaws, which made the eaglets extremely excited, and the enthusiastic cheers seemed to lift the ceiling.

"Marietta Edgcombe!"

A little girl ran up happily, picked up the Sorting Hat, and put it on.

"Ravenclaw!"

"Oh!!!"

As the Sorting Hat called out the name of the same House for the third time, the eaglets went completely crazy. Some stood on the stool and danced with their feet in front of the Professors and students. Some people picked up the decorative flowers on the dining table and threw them to the ceiling with excitement.

They put aside their usually proud composure and cheered wantonly.

"Three, the branching has just started, and we already have three new students!"

"Ravenclaw, this year will definitely rise!"

The professors on the stage didn't stop them and just looked on with smiles. It wasn't until they started throwing plates that Professor McGonagall stood up with a straight face.

Outstanding effect.

After seeing Professor McGonagall, the eaglets felt as if they had had a bucket of cold water poured on their heads. They calmed down a lot, transformed from Eagles into Quails, and sat back on the dining table in an orderly manner.

Professor McGonagall's face looked much better, and she looked at the parchment again.

"Omid Flower!"

"Slytherin!"

...

The number of first-year students was getting smaller and smaller.

Kyle stood in the crowd, patiently waiting for his name, but somehow he always felt a little itchy on his back, as if someone was constantly poking him with a needle.

Kyle turned his head subconsciously and saw Kanna, whose face was red and staring at him fiercely.

But unlike before, this time, she was angry.

The shy little girl seemed to have become a different person at this time, with her little white teeth grinding and creaking as if she would pounce on him and bite him at any time.

"Ahem... Oh, the weather is so nice."

Kyle laughed dryly twice, as if he didn't see anything, and turned his head calmly.

Then Kyle moved his feet lightly and squeezed forward quietly, trying to stay as far away from Kanna as possible.

Unfortunately, things did not go as planned. There was only a small place here, and there were not many people. There was no place to hide. No matter where he ran, Kanna could always see him.

The feeling of being on edge never disappeared.

Fortunately, at this time, a voice suddenly came.

"Kyle Chopper!"

For the first time, Kyle felt that Professor McGonagall's voice was so beautiful, like the sound of nature, and like an angel who gave people salvation.

To be honest, if he could re-elect the Headmaster, Kyle would definitely choose Professor McGonagall.
