Harry potter: I am the king of United Kingdom

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: A New Chapter Begins

The summer sun hung low over Pendragon Castle, casting its golden rays over the grand halls and lush gardens. Arthur Pendragon II sat by the wide bay window of his study, the morning breeze rustling his dark hair as he traced the edge of a parchment letter in his hands. His heart raced with a mixture of excitement and nervous anticipation. The letter he'd been waiting for had finally arrived, its emerald-green ink confirming his acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The moment was monumental—not just for him, but for his family. As the heir to the Pendragon legacy, this was the first step toward mastering the magic that ran deep in his blood.

"Have you decided with whom you will go shopping for your school supplies, Arthur?" his mother, Queen Guinevere Pendragon, asked as they sat for breakfast in the grand dining hall. She was a woman of regal poise and sharp intellect, her every word carefully measured.

Arthur paused, a piece of toast halfway to his mouth. "I thought I'd go alone," he replied after a moment's thought.

The queen raised an eyebrow. "That won't do. You're not just any student. You're a Pendragon. Building strong ties with other noble wizarding families will serve you well in the future. Connections are as valuable as gold in our world."

Arthur set his toast down, considering her words. She was right, of course. His upbringing had taught him that alliances were crucial, but this was Hogwarts—he wanted it to be different, a place where he could forge his own path.

Still, if he had to choose…

"Perhaps the Greengrass family," Arthur said after a long pause. The thought of spending the day with Daphne and her younger sister Astoria was far from unpleasant. They had grown close over the past year, and their family's influence made them an ideal choice.

His mother smiled, clearly approving of his decision. "Very well. I shall make the arrangements."

A week later, Arthur stood in the grand foyer of Pendragon Castle, dressed in a crisp, tailored suit that spoke of his royal heritage. The Greengrass family's carriage arrived promptly, drawn by enchanted horses with shimmering coats. Daphne and Astoria stepped out, their demeanor as poised as ever.

"Arthur," Daphne greeted with a warm smile. She looked elegant yet understated, her calm confidence always a stark contrast to her bubbly younger sister, Astoria, who waved excitedly at him.

"Daphne, Astoria," Arthur said with a slight bow, his own smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Thank you for letting me accompany you."

"It's our pleasure," Daphne replied. "This is a big day for all of us."

Before long, they were on their way to Diagon Alley, and at Daphne's suggestion, they had extended an invitation to Draco Malfoy, who joined them at the entrance to the magical marketplace. Draco, as always, carried himself with an air of superiority, but he greeted Arthur with surprising warmth.

Their first stop was Gringotts Wizarding Bank. The grandeur of the marble hall, with its rows of goblins meticulously counting gold and sorting gemstones, never failed to amaze Arthur. Each of them withdrew their school funds from their respective vaults, the weight of the galleons a tangible reminder of the privilege they carried.

As they exited the bank, Astoria tugged at Arthur's sleeve. "Let's go to Madam Malkin's first! We need our robes."

Arthur chuckled. "Lead the way."

The group made their way through the bustling streets, the chatter of witches and wizards blending with the hum of magical activity. Inside Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, they were greeted by the seamstress herself, who quickly ushered them to the fitting area.

As they were being measured, a boy with untidy black hair and round glasses entered the shop, looking somewhat overwhelmed. Arthur's breath caught in his throat. He knew this boy—he'd been waiting for this moment.

"Harry Potter," Arthur said warmly, stepping forward.

Harry looked up, startled, but managed a polite smile. "Yes, that's me."

Arthur extended a hand, his demeanor friendly and open. "Arthur Pendragon. It's a pleasure to meet you. I've heard a lot about you."

Harry hesitated for a moment before shaking Arthur's hand. "Thanks. It's nice to meet you too."

Daphne and Draco exchanged curious glances, while Astoria beamed at Harry. "You're the Harry Potter? That's so cool!" she exclaimed, earning a stern look from her sister.

Arthur, sensing Harry's discomfort, quickly redirected the conversation. "Are you excited about Hogwarts? It's going to be quite the adventure."

Harry nodded, his nervousness easing under Arthur's calm and friendly demeanor. "Yeah, I am. Though I don't really know what to expect."

"You'll do fine," Arthur assured him. "If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask. I'd be happy to help."

Harry smiled, a genuine warmth in his expression. "Thanks, Arthur."

As they left Madam Malkin's, Arthur felt a sense of accomplishment. Building bridges with Harry Potter wasn't just a strategic move—it felt right. Harry was a symbol of hope in the wizarding world, and Arthur knew that their paths were intertwined, not just by fate, but by the choices they made.

The rest of the day passed in a blur of activity. They purchased wands, books, and potions supplies, each stop an opportunity for the group to bond further. By the time they returned to Pendragon Castle, Arthur felt more connected to his companions than ever before.

Daphne walked beside him as they entered the grand hall, her expression thoughtful. "You handled that well," she said, her voice low enough that only he could hear.

Arthur glanced at her, surprised. "Handled what?"

"Meeting Harry Potter," she replied. "You made him feel at ease. That's not an easy thing to do, especially for someone in your position."

Arthur smiled. "It wasn't strategy, Daphne. He's just… someone I feel like I should know."

Daphne studied him for a moment before nodding. "Well, you made a good impression. That will matter in the days to come."

Arthur didn't reply, but her words lingered. As he retired to his chambers that evening, he couldn't help but feel that this was just the beginning of something far greater than himself—a destiny he was ready to embrace.
