Harry Potter: Demon Monarch

Chapter 71: Chapter -71 Plan to develop Azkaban

Chapter -71.

In a dark room in Knockturn Alley, dozens of elegantly dressed old pure-bloods gathered to happily celebrate today's victory.

"Narcissa, what are you worried about? Lucius is pure-blood; he will be fine."

A tall old pure-blood came to Narcissa's side, comforting her.

To this pure-blood's reassurance, Narcissa could only manage to force out a smile and said nothing more.

In the entire room, except for the poor Narcissa, the other old purebloods were caught up in a frenzy. In fact, the news of the riot at the Ministry of Magic was spread by them, aimed at undermining the Ministry's prestige.

As for the source of the photos, they came from a guy who called himself Beetle, a remarkable figure with firsthand knowledge of the Ministry's situation.

The old purebloods didn't care how he got those photos; they were more concerned about their own interests.

"I believe the reputation of those new pureblood scoundrels at the Ministry will surely plummet."

"Yeah, then it will be our time to take control as true purebloods!"

Just as this group of purebloods reveled in their fantasies of dominating the wizarding world, an owl flew straight through the window into the room.

Then, to the astonishment of all the wizards, it dropped a freshly printed Daily Prophet.

"Legendary Auror Suppress Rebellion, Minister Smith Leads Effectively!"

Below the bold headline was a photo of Carlson educating the prisoners, among them the previously glorious Dark Lord Arlis, now lying on the ground like a dead dog, helplessly watching the prisoners being educated.

Minister Smith was also posing with numerous Ministry officials, directing the Ministry staff to handle the battlefield, looking as if he was in control of the situation.

Below the image was a lengthy article of 4,000 words, vividly describing the entire process of the battle.

It detailed how the legendary Auror Carlson, with the assistance of Minister Smith and many high-ranking Ministry officials, defeated the Dark Lord Arlis and brought the Azkaban rioters under control.

At the end of the article, there was a promotional message urging wizards in the wizarding world not to panic, stating that the riot had been suppressed and the Ministry was undergoing reconstruction.

The author of this article was none other than the 'legendary' reporter in the wizarding world, Rita Skeeter.

...

Inside Azkaban, after the revelry, all the prisoners had returned to their cells.

Unlike before, Azkaban now truly allowed for doors to be left unlocked at night; the doors of each cell did not need to be closed, and prisoners could move freely around the island.

The recent riot at the Ministry not only allowed these prisoners to vent their pent-up rage but also brought them a nice fortune.

They were still partying all night in the activity area outside Azkaban.

However, while the prisoners could revel, Lester, the godfather of Azkaban, needed to handle some aftermath and determine the future direction of Azkaban.

In the Auror office of Azkaban, Lester sat comfortably in the boss's chair, facing his trusted aides, Arlis and Carlson!

"Arlis, you're quite impressive now, having become the third-generation Dark Lord of the magical world."

Lester flipped through the newspaper, seeing 'Arlis' rampaging through the Ministry, and couldn't help but tease him.

Arlis: "."

As a member of the Azkaban prisoners, after he submitted to Lester, he became one of their own, so he also had the opportunity to see the latest issue of the Daily Prophet.

Then he saw himself on the front page, going on a rampage.

To be honest, he rejected the title of the third-generation Dark Lord; after all, sharing a name with Grindelwald and Voldemort put too much pressure on him.

However, if given the choice again, he wouldn't refuse Lester's invitation.

Being the third-generation Dark Lord was quite a prestigious title; once he was out, who would dare to provoke him?

Ignoring Arlis's protests, Lester turned to Carlson and said, "I've secured you the position of Warden of Azkaban, along with a seat in the Wizengamot."

"Thank you, leader! I, Carlson, will definitely serve you well in the future!"

Though he had been mentally prepared, hearing from Lester that he had become the Warden of Azkaban and had a seat in the Wizengamot still filled Carlson with joy.

After all his hard work in the Ministry, he ended up as just a guard, but by aligning with the right leader, he quickly became the Warden; perhaps that's the charm of picking a side.

After Lester spoke, he waited for Arlis and Carlson to take a few minutes to process before continuing, "From now on, Azkaban will be our base; we need to develop it well."

"In a few months, I will be going to Hogwarts, and by then, the affairs of Azkaban will be entirely under your and Arlis's responsibility."

Upon hearing this, Arlis and Carlson immediately nodded to indicate their understanding.

Lester had his own thoughts about having Arlis and Carlson jointly oversee things.

If Carlson were to manage it alone, it would inevitably lead to centralization and easily breed ambition, so he needed to find someone to balance Carlson.

Arlis, the third-generation Dark Lord, was a good candidate. The entire magical world now knew he was the third-generation Dark Lord, which meant that unless he could escape abroad to develop, he would have to obey Lester forever.

Seeing that Carlson appeared calm and showed no sign of dissatisfaction, Lester continued, "In the next few months while I am still here, I plan to carry out a thorough transformation of Azkaban."

"First, Azkaban needs to be clearly divided into two parts: one is the original Azkaban prison, responsible for holding prisoners."

After saying this, Lester took a sip of the tea on the table and continued, "The other part will be the construction of a luxurious living area, responsible for housing our people."

Lester took out a map of Azkaban that he had prepared earlier and began explaining it to Carlson and Arlis.

Azkaban is an isolated island with only one port for contact with the outside world.

The port and Azkaban prison are located on the eastern and western sides of the island, respectively, and aside from these two buildings, the rest of the island is barren land where not even birds would drop droppings.

Lester's plan was to build a luxurious residential area in the northernmost part of the island, so that those prisoners of Azkaban who submitted to him would have houses to live in.

After all, they couldn't be fighting for their lives in the Ministry of Magic and then have to return to live in prison cells; what would be the difference between them and those purebloods who would abandon them once they were no longer useful?

Of course, this doesn't mean that Lester is a good person; he is doing this merely to better control these prisoners.

Not only that, but he also had many plans for developing Azkaban. As long as he could implement them successfully, he would become the most powerful force in the wizarding world.
