Chapter 399: Children of Noah Vaelgrim
While Noah was trying to coax three Origins to be his adopted children, outside of his training white realm, the wives were already gathered, waiting for him to finish his task but also… glaring at each other.
"Now," Selene began, smiling, "while we wait for Noah to finish his work, why don't we decide the winner?"
"The winner?" Aphasia echoed, "How should we decide it if we all came at the same exact time?" Her voice was bitter.
She believed she was the first one to finish her ascension, only for her belief to evaporate like smoke once she came back at the same time as her sisters.
"Weird," Appolonia interjected, putting her smooth golden-white hand on her chin, "don't you find all of this too bizarre?" She asked, her vitiligo skin shining with mesmerizing luster under the soft light of the room.
"The fact we came at the same time?" Lilith guessed with a grin.
"Yes," Appolonia nodded, "it's too perfect and too convenient, don't you think? One would believe someone made sure we all came at the same time, and that no matter who finished first." She said while looking at her sisters with a soft knowing smirk.
"And I guess we all know who did that," she added.
Selene shrugged, "Maybe. Maybe not," she said, "and does it matter?"
"We still need to decide the winner," she continued, "and maybe it's not obvious enough but I am quite motivated to have my one-year time alone with my dear son, you see." She whispered, the room beginning to frost. Ice began to slither around the floor and the wall.
"So why not do it like the old times?" she proposed at last.
Red and Anya began to grin, "Oh, I know where you are going, Selene," Red laughed, "are you sure you want to do this?"
Selene only stared at them with smirking eyes, her expression dripping with confidence.
"It seems she is serious," Elira added, then she laughed.
Emmie, meanwhile, was looking at them with puzzled eyes, confusion clear on her beautiful face rimmed with golden glasses, "Huh…" she began awkwardly, raising her hand as if asking for permission to speak, "I don't understand. Like, what are we going to do? Fight?" She asked, causing the women to stare at her weirdly.
"Fight?" Alice repeated, then laughed, "How silly. We would never fight among ourselves, sister Emmie. We don't want to anger Noah."
"Then what?" Emmie asked just as she witnessed each of the women taking out an artifact shaped like a camera.
Puzzled, she stared at her sisters and found them already in a circle, grinning maniacally,
"I will certainly win today!" Ester said, before all the other girls stared at her scornfully,
"Stay out of this, Ester. You are not eligible." They said in perfect sync, before focusing back on the game.
Ester's lips twitched.
Next, Emmie witnessed how each of her sisters took out pictures of Noah. Seeing them, Emmie's eyes widened in surprise before she struggled to contain her laughter.
Not only her, each of them was trying hard not to laugh.
All the pictures they had taken out were the most embarrassing they got of Noah.
And once they put all the pictures on a table made of ice created by Selene, they began to exchange glances at each other then slowly,
"The one who has the most embarrassing picture of Noah will win!" Selene declared, confident in her victory thanks to her station as Noah's mother.
Yet the result of this little conquest would disappoint all of them, except one unexpected winner.
…
While his wives were in the process of shaming him, Noah was still waiting for the answer of the three origins.
Needless to say, Noah's proposal left them wide-eyed, unable to properly process what they had just heard.
It was not the first time powerful beings all around the universe came to them and asked for their origin, proposing many kinds of benefits and rewards, one of them always being the promise of taking their concept to a whole new level.
But never had someone dared to ask them to be their adopted children.
To begin with, no one would even think of that.
It was so absurd and unexpected that they were struggling to react properly.
[You truly dared, Noah.] Providence whispered inside his mind.
Noah only smiled as he raised his arm and wrapped it around Caus's shoulder. His action made the minds of the three siblings drag themselves back up to the current situation.
"I don't need much introduction," Noah began, his tone light and gentle, "but I will still tell you some of the things you will get by accepting my offer."
Fated bit her lips, trying to control her rude tongue. Destiny nodded softly at his words, while Caus was looking at the bowl of milk as if that was all that mattered to him now.
Knowing he had their attention, he continued smoothly, "First of all, you will get many mothers who will shower you with unbearable love!" He started with so much energy the siblings began to feel it enter their being.
Unconsciously, they began imagining having so many mothers.
"Without forgetting that you will also have two older siblings. They are quite something but they are good children and will certainly support you if needed. And oh well, they might be weaker than you for now, but be careful."
He grinned,
"Their destiny is as glorious as anything this universe has to offer. Or even more than it."
The siblings arched an eyebrow at his words, finding it surprising. They did not doubt Noah's words, for he had no reason to lie.
That meant they would have siblings at the top of the universe in due time? Now they were slowly being sold.
"Added to that," Noah continued, "you will go far and above any concepts. With your origin in my hands, there is no doubt I will make it reach a higher level, all while giving you the highest authority under mine."
He stared at them seriously, "Your freedom, too, would not be restricted and…"
Here, all of them began to relax completely, finding all this quite beneficial.
He next pointed at the foods on the table, "You would also have the opportunity to eat this many good foods anywhere and anytime."
And here…
They were sold.
Completely.
Caus snapped his head towards him faster than thought, "Caus accept! Caus want to be Mister Noah's son!"
Fated and Destiny were more reserved, but even they knew there were barely any choices.
They could not escape this man no matter what they did. And even if by miracle they succeeded, they were not fools to not know he would come after them, and they would certainly not like the outcome.
They knew, since the moment they had been dragged here, that they would end up giving their origin to this man.
But even they did not expect him to ask them to be his children.
They might have the shape of a child, but they were anything but. They were as old as the universe, yet somehow…
They couldn't help but like the idea of being his children as they looked at him with his calm and gentle smile, his arm around Caus in a friendly manner while giving him food continuously and cackling at how fast Caus was.
'We accept?' Fated asked Destiny through mind link.
Destiny smiled, 'Sweet Noah is sweet. And gentle. And powerful. So accept we shall.'
Fated smiled too, before she immediately erased that smile, hmphed rudely and snapped her head to the other side, "It seems we have no other choice but to accept!" She scowled at Noah, "You better take care of us!"
"Sweet Noah. We agree." Destiny said while nodding slowly.
"Oh! Caus's happy!" Caus chirped.
[They actually accepted.] Providence added with a low chuckle.
Day by day Noah continued to surprise her. And now he had made three origins his children.
With a wide beaming grin, "From now on, you three are the children of Noah Vaelgrim."
He declared and the space around them began to vibrate. He continued without minding it.
He looked at Fated, "You are now Fated Vaelgrim."
Fated shivered, something inside of her began to shift.
Noah's eyes slid toward Destiny, "You are Destiny Vaelgrim."
Again, Destiny trembled unconsciously.
Next he looked at Caus, "And you, dear youngest, you will be Caus Vaelgrim."
Caus's body quivered.
Soon, all of them began to glow with a translucent light.
At the same time, an overwhelming presence descended in the white realm, and The Records spoke once more,
{A ridiculous feat has been performed.}
This time, Noah could sense the obvious amusement of The Records.
{Noah Vaelgrim, you never cease to surprise us. You have made three Conceptual Origins taken form your children, giving them your name they shall bear until the end of time.}
{Glorious!}
{You have received a new Title.}
{Title: Father of Origins.}
Then slowly…
{Noah, you are so magnificent!!!}
