Chapter 110: The Map.
Maya took a long breath, exhaled it slowly as she picked up the marker lying in front of the whiteboard. She removed the cap with a small thud, looking front, towards where they all were sitting. Her voice came low but firm.
"So, the Annual Meet of all High-School crews is soon enough," She said, her gaze drifted towards Ryan. "So, Crew leader. I hope that you know what I mean, right?"
Ryan's eyes were already fixed on Maya, a small bead of sweat appeared on Ryan's forehead, his body was calm, but there was a feeling of slight distress. "Eh? Annual Meet?" Ryan said, his gaze slowly drifted towards Arthur, who was sitting next to him, arms were closed, eyes were shut, face was unreadable as usual.
After looking at Arthur for a while, his eyes shifted back to Maya. His mind was foggy, but still his voice came, calm. "Mind enlightening me about that, Crew's Min?" A small teasing smirk curled up on Ryan's mouth, as if he was trying to sound playful.
Maya's expressions didn't change, her eyes were still full of seriousness, a small sigh left her mouth, voice came slow but steady. "The Annual Meet of the crews, in which all crews meet together, and they discuss about the treaty."
She took a small pause, then continued. "I don't know much about that, but here we have someone who's well known with it." Her gaze fell on Kai.
"Mind joining me for now, Kai?" She said in a soft tone, but the feeling of authority was buried inside of it.
Kai, who was sitting quietly for a while now, arms crossed next to his chest and eyes fixed on the whiteboard, his voice came slowly. "I don't mind." The moment he finished speaking, he got up and moved towards Maya; his steps were slow and calm.
The moment he reached there, he stood next to Maya as his gaze looked towards the rest of the crew. "I'll not waste any time and start right away,"
His face seemed unreadable. He took a small pause and then continued. "There are four crews, North-High Crew, West-High Crew, which is ours, South-High Crew and the East-High Crew."
Maya didn't waste any time; she picked the marker up and started drawing a map of the Crews on the whiteboard. Kai continued talking, didn't even take a single break now. "The Crew with the most land under them is the East-High Crew."
While Kai was telling about it, Maya quickly drew the map of East-High. "The one with the least land under them is South-High Crew, but they're still not someone whom we can take lightly."
Maya drew the area that's under the South-High and completed drawing the map of the four crews, marking the names of the crews with a red marker.
Daniel had a bright smile on his face, eyes were glimmering with excitement and his voice came softly, feeling of excitement was filled into it. "Yeahhh, he's correct. I know a few people from the South High, and they're definitely strong."
Ryan looked at Daniel, a nd a hint of confusion took over his mind. 'How does he always know about everything? He's so mysterious, damn it!'
Kai's voice came slowly, "Yeah, Daniel is correct. Now let me tell you about what happens in the Annual Meetings," He looked at Maya slightly from his side eye. "Hope you catch up with what I'm about to tell now, Maya."
Kai's eyes drifted back towards the crew. "The crew leaders go to the meeting place, and only 3 people can accompany them there. The crews discuss about the recent matters about what's going on in the city, maintain the peace between their crews, make some deals or transfers about the crew members sometimes."
He took a small pause, eyes flinched slightly. "And sometimes they even join hands to take over the land from the other crews."
Leon finally broke his silence. He was sitting next to Aiden, a small smirk was curled up on his lips, and one leg of his was resting on the other. "So, it's basically a normal ritual where the heads meet up to just show off?"
Kai's eyes drifted towards Leon, and he gave a small nod in agreement to his statement. "Yes, you're right," He took a small pause, eyes shifted towards Ryan. "But I think that this time it'll be different from the other times."
Maya, who was standing beside Kai, stepped forward a bit. "Because we took over the West-High Crew?"
Kai's voice came. "You're on spot." He said without looking at Maya. Arthur, who was quiet the entire time, finally opened his eyes, looked towards Kai and broke the silence. "So, it means that some of the crew leaders might even try and hurt our leader by thinking that we won by luck?"
Kai gave a small nod and crossed his arms next to his chest. "Yes, that might happen. As I mentioned before that these guys usualallynce to take down the weak crews, this might be one of the cases for that outcome."
Ryan took a small sigh, and finally, he spoke. His voice carried authority. "Maya, got any plan in mind?" He looked at Maya.
Maya gave a quick nod as she faced towards the whiteboard, started drawing a few lines. It looked like a map of a location, a building that was under construction. She tapped her marker's bottom onto the whiteboard. "This is the place where they usually host the meeting."
Leon's voice came low, tone cocky. "Oh, this place? I remember beating the shit out of the executive of North-High Crew in there." A big smirk curled up on his lips.
Ryan thought as his eyes shifted towards Leon and then back at the board. 'Yeah, for a while I forgot that half of my crew is made up of misfits of the city.'
Maya said slowly. "Leon, please don't interrupt me while I'm talking." Leon gave a small nod to her as he straightened back in his chair.
Maya looked back at the board once, then shifted her gaze towards the others.
