Chapter 92: Interactions With The Night Part 51
The ring absorbed more power and stabilized. It jumped two stages in one go.
As soon as it settled, flashes of information sunk into his head—the first ability had awakened.
Whisper of Spite.
As the name implied, it let him sense negative thoughts—hate, bitterness, little grudges.
Normally, a skill like that would be useless. Who cared what people thought?
But this one rewarded him for it.
The more they hated him, the stronger he got.
Perfect for someone who never knew when to shut up.
'No wonder Grandpa gave me this thing. Fits his psycho personality, '
He paused.
Yeah… his personality was pretty messed up too.
So, like a good grandson, he just blamed the bloodline.
The next skill was called Scent of Fear.
It let him sense fear—and just like the last one, it came with a bonus.
But instead of giving him a boost like Whisper of Spite, this one let him store that fear.
Bottle it up. Then turn it into an attack strong enough to make even the bravest man flinch.
Perfect for catching cocky bastards off guard.
'The skills are decent, but kinda underwhelming,' he sighed, hoping the next eight would be better.
He turned his attention to the remaining items, eyes scanning them like a kid picking snacks—except these could probably kill a lot of people.
First up was another gem. It was the same type he used to upgrade his gear.
'So, another armor upgrade. At this rate, I'll be unstoppable,' he chuckled to himself.
[Midnight Coat +2]
[+10% Durability]
[+10% Comfort]
[+2% Evasion]
[Bonus Effect: Moonlight Enhancement]
Luck's grin widened as he read the description. He hit the jackpot.
Ten percent boost at night. Fifteen on a full moon.
Luck let out a low whistle. "That's nasty."
It was the perfect skill for a world where the real danger always came after sunset.
The last two were gems too, but different from the upgrade stones.
One glowed white. The other, blood red.
When he touched the white crystal, a prompt appeared.
It was an item that could add 50 years of lifespan.
Luck smiled, already deciding where to use it—Kana.
He held off upgrading her stats before. because it would cost too much of her lifespan.
'I'll give it to her secretly later,' he muttered, slipping the gem into his pocket.
Finally, he turned his attention to the last item.
[Item Identified: Blood Stone]
[Effect: Stores the user's blood over time. When activated, it releases the stored blood as energy—rapidly healing wounds or boosting physical power for a short period. The more blood stored, the stronger the effect.]
"So basically… a reusable health potion. That also doubles as a steroid."
The stone shimmered faintly as if responding to his voice.
A grin tugged at the corner of his mouth.
'Alright, I'll feed you some of my blood.'
Blood flowed from his palm in a slow, steady stream.
It didn't hurt at all.
In fact, it felt… clean. Like the stone was filtering his blood as it drank—pulling out impurities first.
'I wonder if this thing makes me immune to cholesterol buildup.'
He couldn't help himself. If he wasn't throwing out side comments, something always felt off.
It was like his brain was wired to be as annoying as possible.
Once again, he blamed it on his grandfather's bloodline.
'I'm getting dizzy. Better stop before I die like an idiot from blood loss.'
After wrapping things up, he stretched his legs and let out a long yawn.
Feeding that much blood really took something out of him.
His body felt light, but his eyelids were starting to drop.
'Guess that counts as donating,' he muttered, standing up.
Too tired to bother with anything else, he dragged himself out of the room and made his way straight to Kana's.
She always kept the blankets warm.
Without knocking, he slipped inside, kicked off his shoes, and flopped onto the edge of the bed.
"Move over," he grumbled half-asleep.
She didn't even wake up. Or maybe she just gave up fighting him over this.
Luck didn't care either way. He was already snoring before his head hit the pillow.
[Congratulations! You have survived Night 10]
[Survivors 30/31]
[Daily Rewards]
[300 EC - Survivor Allowance]
Luck woke up to the sound of running water.
Looking sideways, he saw that the bathroom door was wide open, and steam spilled into the room like mist.
"She could asked me," he mumbled, stretching with a grin.
Without a second thought, he ran toward the bathroom—still completely naked—and slipped inside.
The warm air hit him like a wall. He didn't stop.
Just stepped in, wrapped his arms around her from behind, and pressed a kiss to the back of her neck.
Kana flinched under the stream as his arms wrapped around her from behind.
"Seriously?" she said, half turning her head. "You just barge into the shower now?"
Luck leaned in and kissed the back of her neck again.
"Door was open. That's basically an invitation."
"It's not."
"Well, I'm here anyway. And wet now. So really, it'd be rude to kick me out."
She sighed, but didn't push him off. "At least pretend you've got shame."
"Shame is for people with dignity. I traded that for better reflexes."
Kana shook her head and kept washing her hair like he wasn't there. Luck rested his chin on her shoulder, enjoying the heat and the way the water slid down both of them.
"Brought you something," he said casually.
"Unless it's a towel, I don't want it."
"It's a thousand times better."
His hand slipped around her waist as he leaned in closer, letting her feel the answer to that question without saying another word.
She stiffened for a second.
"Really?" she asked, deadpan. "Right now?"
Luck grinned. "Look how big and juicy it is."
"You're unbelievable."
He chuckled. "But consistent."
She didn't move away. She didn't say no, either. Just muttered under her breath, "You better wash my back after this."
"I'll do better than that," he said—and started moving his hips.
Kana let out a sharp breath, gripping the wall for balance.
"You're the worst," she whispered.
"But your legs say otherwise."
"Shut up."
He chuckled, hands still on her waist, guiding the rhythm.
Water kept pouring down over them, masking the sound of everything else in the world.
After they wrapped up their naughty morning routine, Kana sat on the edge of the bed, drying her hair with a towel.
Her skin still steamed from the shower.
Luck stood behind her, gently kneading her shoulders.
"You're actually good at this," she mumbled, tilting her head as he hit the right spot.
"Of course," he said. "I've got magic fingers. Legendary, really."
"Mm-hmm."
He leaned in, grinning against her ear.
"I think you're ready for the next round."
Kana flinched ."Aren't you a little too horny ?"
Luck didn't even try to deny it. "Blame the blood loss. Pretty sure my brain's forcing me to do lewd stuff just to spike my heart rate and make more blood."
She scoffed. "That's not how biology works."
"Well, my body's made of pure awesomeness, obviously. I probably bleed medicine. If someone bottled it, they'd wipe out cancer and get abs at the same time."
Kana snorted. "Then donate some. There's a whole world out there waiting."
"Nah. Can't risk people becoming as hot and powerful as me. Gotta maintain the status quo."
She shook her head, laughing softly. "You always have an answer for everything."
"Part of being a super genius. My brain runs 24/7. Gotta talk to myself sometimes just to stay sane."
"Wait, you actually do that?"
Luck nodded without shame. "Full-on debates. Sometimes I lose, too. That's how you know it's serious."
She stared at him for a beat, then burst out laughing. "You need help."
"Probably," he said, grinning. "But I'd argue with the therapist, too."
After the teasing and jokes, things turned more serious.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small pill, pressing it gently into Kana's hand.
"You're body's already adapted to the last one. I think you're ready."
Kana didn't hesitate. She tossed the pill into her mouth and swallowed it dry.
Soon, Ki surged like a dam had cracked open.
She staggered a little, gripping the edge of the bed for balance.
This was normal.
Twenty full points added in an instant, a leap that would normally cost forty years of life.
But there was no danger this time because he already given her an extra fifty years while he was asleep, more than enough to cover the cost.
That was what he thought—but reality turned out to be far more complicated.
"I need to control my Ki!" she sat down cross-legged on the floor, eyes closed as she started to focus.
The surge of Ki inside her overflowed, rushing through her veins like a flood without a path.
Her breathing turned shallow.
She tried to stabilize it on her own, but it was too much, too fast.
'I messed up,' he muttered under his breath.
Wasting no time, he placed his palm gently on her back. "Let me help."
He reached out with his own Ki, forming a link between them.
As the connection locked in, the overflowing energy began to shift, flowing into him little by little.
It was hot—wild—but manageable for him.
His eyes narrowed as he guided the current. What surprised him wasn't just how easily he could redirect her power—it was how his own Ki started to resonate with hers.
Instead of draining her strength, the flow started to sync, forming a loop.
Not only was he helping her stabilize, but his own energy was rising in response.
His lips curled into a small smile. . 'So that's how it is... Dual Cultivation'
