Chapter 18: Logical Date
Lee House
(Thomas, Timmy, Mark, and Freddie sitting on the coach)
Thomas: Wait, the carnival is coming?
Freddie: Yay, they came last night and are here the rest of the day. Unfortunately thanks to Mark both of us will miss it.
Mark: Hey you said as long I didn't hit you, you wouldn't mind holding a board so I could kick it.
Freddie: But did have to practice near the principal car.
Thomas: Sounds like you shouldn't use your head instead, there wouldn't be anything left (laughs).
Freddie: Now we have detention until 5:00.
Thomas: Well nothing stopping me from going.
Kevin: Actually you can't go.
(Kevin and Isabelle walking in)
Kevin: Isabelle has to paint the guest room today and you have to help her.
Thomas: Why can't you help her?
Kevin: I have to go into work today, being a lawyer is hard work.
Thomas: Well you are not helping to give them a good name.
Isabelle: Come on it will be fun, Thomas.
Mark: Looks like none of us are going to the carnival.
Timmy: Actually I'm going with May.
(All of them shocked)
Thomas: What!
Timmy: She asked me yesterday to go with her and I said yes.
Mark: You owe me 50 bucks.
Timmy: For what?
Mark: We had a bait to see if you or Thomas would go a date first.
Freddie: Actually after getting to know both of you, it looked like your parents weren't going to get grandkids.
(Kevin and Isabelle looking at Freddie)
Freddie: Soon. I meant since your sons are so respectful to women they wouldn't do anything to crazy.
Mark: Nice save.
Thomas: Dude don't you realize your going on a date.
Timmy: Is not a date. Is a fun outing with two friends going to a place meant for amusement.
Thomas: You do realize you read a dictionary not eat it (laughs).
Timmy: That would be impossible and painful.
Thomas: Going in or out. But if it's going out you can call it a knowledge dupe (laughs).
Mark: I can see why you baited on neither of them going out.
Carnival
(Timmy walking over to entrance)
May: Hey Timmy.
Timmy: Hey May.
May: So have been to carnival before. I have a few times, 5 times to be accurate. Are you cold, I'm cold, you can hold my hand if you're cold.
Timmy: Well if you are cold we can get closer to get more warmth.
(May blushes)
(Costumed bird with balloons walks over)
Bird: Hey kids what a balloon.
May: I love balloons.
Timmy: I don't see the appeal. Other then being colorful they are basically useless in fact if you don't pay attention they're gone forever.
Bird: Ok.
(Bird walks away)
(May looks disappointed)
Lee House
(Thomas and Isabelle wearing white painting clothes)
Thomas: Well if we ever run into a bear we can make them think we're distant cousins (laughs).
Isabelle: Because of white clothes are like polar bears, clever.
Thomas: Is not funny well you explain it like that.
Isabelle: Sorry.
Thomas: Let's just start painting.
Isabelle: Wait, we have to look at colors and see if we want them for the room.
Thomas: How long would that take.
Isabelle: Don't worry we have all day to figure it out.
Thomas: This is going to be rough.
Isabelle: Because dogs are color blind.
Carnival
(Timmy and May walking pass the rollercoasters)
May: Can we go on the rollercoaster?
Timmy: That probably wouldn't be a good idea. Based on what we had for lunch and the carnival food it would be an unpleasant ride.
May: Ok there's other stuff we can go. Bumper cars, maze of mirrors, horror houses.
Timmy: How about that one.
(Timmy pointing at the tunnel of love)
(May blushes)
May: Tunnel of love isn't that going too fast, we have the whole day to do other stuff. Especially that ride.
Timmy: Well it is the smoothest ride here, despite the inaccurate shape of the hearts.
Lee House
(Thomas and Isabelle looking at different paint colors)
Isabelle: Ok I found the right color. Are you ok Thomas.
Thomas: It's nothing, I'm just bored. I like painting stuff with my imagination not filling the blanks or in this case painting a wall.
Isabelle: Who says we are not using our imagination.
Thomas: What do you mean?
Isabelle: You try to imagine this as a big picture and make anything you imagine.
Thomas: Really anything.
Isabelle: Of course. In all honesty one of the main reasons your father asked you to help me was so you and I could spend time together. I know I'm just your step mother and I never want to replace your real mother but I still want to treat you like my son, like Timmy.
Thomas: Does that mean I have to be smarter then a computer?
(Both of them laughing)
Thomas: So let's do this.
Carnival
(Timmy and May walking by throwing games)
(May looking at giant stuffed penguin)
May: That's the cutest stuffed toy ever, but it might be in the top 10.
Timmy: I wouldn't try if I was you. These games are always rigged, just giant waste of time.
May: It wouldn't hurt to try.
(May tries to throw the ball at the target but buzzer doesn't go of)
Timmy: I told you.
May: You know maybe we should go.
Timmy: Are you sure we still have two hours until it closes.
May: Yeah I'm sure.
(May walks away)
Timmy: That's the fewest words she ever said to me.
Lee House
(Thomas and Isabelle sitting down eating ice cream)
Isabelle: I thought I was the only one who liked ice cream after hard work.
Thomas: What can I see we all scream for ice cream, especially when we get a brain freeze (laughs).
(Timmy walks in)
Isabelle: Hey sweetie.
Thomas: So bro is May the next Mrs. Lee.
Timmy: I don't think we're anything anymore.
Isabelle: What happened?
Timmy: Well after I told her it would be a waste of time for her to get a useless stuffed toy she left.
Thomas: And people call me a jerk, no offense.
Timmy: I get that people can get annoyed by my logical personality but I didn't expect how she would feel about it or I would feel.
Isabelle: How do you feel?
Timmy: My feelings for May are different you two and dad because she's not family. But despite her being a friend like Mark and Freddie she feels different.
Isabelle: How do you feel about her?
Timmy: Well she's the sweetest person I know. Despite her overuse of speech every word is intelligent and I can listen to her all day.
Isabelle: I think the reason why you feel different is because you like her.
Thomas: Aka kind of like how she likes dad.
Timmy: You're right I like her but what can I do?
Isabelle: Show her how you feel.
Thomas: Listen to her Timmy, she knows what she is talking about.
Timmy: I have to go back to the carnival.
(Timmy runs out)
May House
(Timmy knocks on the door)
(May opens it)
(My sees Timmy holding a the giant penguin)
May: Timmy, what are you doing with that?
Timmy: So I can apologize. May I'm the type of guy who uses logic more than his feelings but when I really care about someone they take over and you are one of the people I care about.
May: You really mean that.
Timmy: Of course. If you don't believe me I hope this fake flightless bird wood.
May: How did you get it.
Timmy: Well if you angle the throw right you can make the buzzer go off.
May: You really do have the biggest brain.
Timmy: Well actually the brain size…
(May kisses Timmy cheek and makes him blush)
Timmy: This is a fun feeling.
Tomorrow, Lee House
(Lee family looking at guest room with is cowboy riding dinosaur painted pictures)
Kevin: You did great honey.
Isabelle: It was Thomas' idea.
Thomas: You helped, mom.
Isabelle: You called me mom.
Thomas: Well you always try to be one for both of us.
(All for of them hug)
