"They're so strong!"

"Right? They won way too fast! The matches at the other courts are only halfway through!"

"Jeez! Is this the power of the Interhigh champions?"

"I really don't know how many teams at this year's Spring High have what it takes to go up against them!"

Even after the players of Karasuno left the court, the audience continued to murmur among themselves, still watching their retreating backs.

In this opening match against Inufuto, the overwhelming strength Karasuno displayed had truly shocked many spectators.

But, on second thought, it was only natural. If they weren't this strong, how could they have possibly won the Interhigh championship?

Meanwhile, the Karasuno team made their way into the stands to watch the next match.

After their own game, there was still one more opponent from their group they wanted to observe this afternoon—

Kamomedai!

Kamomedai was also a seeded team in Group A, and this would be their first match of the tournament.

Karasuno paid close attention to Kamomedai. After all, in the last Interhigh tournament, Kamomedai had been a powerhouse, advancing all the way to the Final Four.

Facing them in the group stage was no small matter—they had to be taken seriously.

Just as the team settled into the audience seats, Shōyō Hinata spotted members of Nekoma and Fukurōdani gathered nearby.

"Hey! That was a great match!" Kōtarō Bokuto waved enthusiastically and shouted, laughing.

Before Karasuno could respond, Bokuto grinned wider and added, "But it's still not as amazing as me!"

Behind him, Keiji Akaashi and the others wore expressions of quiet exasperation.

"Next time, I'm definitely going to surpass you!" Hinata replied with determination.

"Haha!" Bokuto placed his hands on his hips and declared proudly, "I'll be waiting!"

"By the way," said Tetsurō Kuroo, stepping forward with a grin and eyes full of challenge, "since you guys are through today, our teams face off tomorrow."

"Haha! I've been looking forward to meeting you on the main stage!" Daichi Sawamura smiled at Kuroo, the same fire of rivalry glowing in his eyes.

"Hah! City boys, are you ready for Lord Tanaka's Violent Buckle?" Ryūnosuke Tanaka flexed his fists and laughed boldly, taunting the Nekoma squad.

Behind him, Kōshi Sugawara and a few others facepalmed in sync.

"Can you please stop calling it that ridiculous name..."

But before Sugawara could finish his sentence, Taketora Yamamoto jumped out from behind Nekoma's ranks.

"Don't think we're afraid of you guys!"

"Tomorrow, you'd better be ready to lose!"

...

As the banter continued, the next match began.

On one of the courts, Kamomedai's first match was underway.

Their opponents were a familiar name to many—the same team Karasuno had faced in the national tournament last year: Matsukawa Tech.

However, compared to that time, Matsukawa Tech's strength had noticeably declined.

That's because, after the Interhigh tournament, all of their third-year players had retired from the volleyball team and didn't return for the Spring High.

Even so, making it through the local preliminaries and reaching the Spring High again was a sign of just how strong their program was.

Still, compared to other teams, losing a full class of experienced third-years was a huge blow.

That disadvantage might not show against average opponents.

But against a powerhouse like Kamomedai, the difference became obvious.

Once the match began, Matsukawa Tech's struggles started to show.

Facing Kamomedai's relentless offense, they barely had room to breathe.

In the end, they lost the match 0–2.

Kamomedai claimed their first win and moved on to the next stage, set to compete again tomorrow morning.
