"I can hear you just fine." Luo Huian raised her brow and softly smiled at the woman who was about to lose her temper. She said to her, "There is no need for you to say anything because I am certain that it would upset both of us in more than just one way."

Qi Changpu narrowed her eyes when she saw how Luo Huian was dealing with the situation. The woman who lowered her head and glanced at the world as if it had done her some great wrong was gone, and in place of her sat a woman who was filled with vibrant energy without any gloomy look in her eyes.

Though there were indeed traces of anger and frustration in her eyes, this Luo Huian was much more controlled than the one in the past.

Just how was it possible for this woman to change so much?

She inhaled heavily and then said to Luo Huian, "Miss Luo, while I do know that you are upset, I think you are accusing us wrongly; we just sent Yongrui to that village because we thought that it was a simple village with no troubles. If we knew that there was something wrong, then we would have never done it."

"Ah," Luo Huian leaned back on her chair with a mocking smile on her lips. "It looks like Miss Qi is even more naive than a little child. Such a matter can be disclosed with just a small investigation or a net search, and you are telling me that you had no idea that such a thing was going on in that village?"

"You really want me to believe this excuse?"

When Qi Yongrui saw that Luo Huian was not convinced, her expression shifted. Usually, whenever she used her skills, the other person would be convinced quite easily, but it seemed like her skills were nullified when it came to Luo Huian!

Her heart also started to beat uneasily because she could see that it would be really difficult for her to suppress Luo Huian.

"Miss Luo, what will it take for you to let us off?" Qi Changpu asked Luo Huian with a pleading expression. Though she hated that she had to lower her head in front of Luo Huian, there was nothing that she could do.

This woman was the one who had the power to deal with her family at the moment.

If she could deal with Luo Huian, then she would have never lowered her head in front of her.

Luo Huian's lips curled up once again when she heard Qi Changpu's question. She got to her feet and said to the woman, "Yongrui has already told you what he wants. Now you have two choices: one, you go back and tell your family that they need to sign the severance document, and we will let go of this matter."

"Second, you can continue being stubborn, and we will fight to death with you."

Luo Huian then turned to look at Qi Yongrui. With her hand stretched in front of him, she said to the mer, "Let's go."

Qi Yongrui raised his head and looked at Luo Huian, who was smiling at him, and his heart jumped a few beats. He was really charmed by this woman to begin with, and now that she was treating him so well, Qi Yongrui felt like he was slowly losing his mind.

He took her hand and then turned to look at his adoptive sister; he noticed that Qi Changpu was rather upset with his actions, but he didn't care. In the past, he couldn't even raise a dog because this woman was not only perverse but her obsession with him was really ugly.

Now that he finally got an opportunity to stay away from this woman, then he would be a fool to think of ways to please her.

He said to Qi Changpu, "Sister, let me know when you have made up your mind."

Luo Huian waited for the mer to finish speaking before wheeling him out of the VIP room. As soon as the two of them left the small room, there was a crash, and Luo Huian curled her lips. This was the reason why she asked the waiter to serve the priciest dishes of the restaurant because she knew that Qi Changpu was going to be driven crazy by Qi Yongrui.

Qi Yongrui, on the other hand sighed. He knew that with his sister's temper, she would never stay quiet. Though she was pushed into a corner by them this time around, she would certainly cause trouble for them in the future. This was how that woman was.

When the two of them stepped out of the restaurant, he turned to look at Luo Huian, who stood behind him, and said to her, "Thank you."

"Hmmm?" Luo Huian turned to look at the mer who was sitting in the wheelchair and remarked, "You don't need to thank me. While I do admit that I helped you out a little this time around, I didn't do anything special; it was you who fought with that woman and stood up against her."

"If you want to thank someone, thank yourself for showing the courage that you couldn't show in the past."

When Qi Yongrui heard her words, he was rather pleased by them. After all, no one would feel upset when they were praised; he thought that he was indeed a tad bit worthy of praise. After all, he finally faced his fears.

The two of them returned to the Ye house, where they ran into Fan Meilin.

The mer had returned after his short vacation and was looking at Qi Yongrui with a complicated look in his eyes. Though he despised the mer for taking away the official husband's position despite working as a spy, he never wanted Qi Yongrui to be hurt in such a way.

He stepped forward and looked down at the mer who was sitting in the wheelchair and narrowed his eyes. He stated, "Just how weak are you that someone like them hurt you like this?"

He used to think that Qi Yongrui was rather skilled, but now looking at his condition, he couldn't help but think that the mer was rather pitiful. He had such a good background, and yet he was treated worse than the servants of the Qi family.

When Qi Yongrui heard his words, he smiled calmly; he was not bothered by the fact that he was no longer normal. Though he couldn't walk, he could finally let go of the Qi family, and that alone was enough for him.

He said to Fan Meilin, "Well, things are already like this and there is nothing that we can do about it."

That was indeed the case; now that Qi Yongrui had turned into a cripple, what else could they do other than just letting things go? If he held on, it would only turn him bitter and angry.

"You all have returned." Ye Shun raised his head and looked at his daughter along with his two sons-in-law; the third one was at the seminar and was yet to return. He said to the Luo Huian and the rest, "Go and eat something; you must be hungry after running around for so long."

Though he did know that Luo Huian went to a restaurant with Qi Yongrui, he also knew that the woman was simply disgusting and despicable; if his daughter could eat more than three bites with Qi Changpu in front of her, he would start writing his name backwards.

When Luo Huian heard that the meal had been prepared she felt her stomach rumble and agreed with Ye Shun. She wheeled Qi Yongrui to the dining area with Fan Meilin closely following behind her.

However, just after taking three steps, Fan Meilin received another message and paused to take a look. When he saw that it was the same harassing message that Liao woman often sent him, he rolled his eyes and ignored it.

But that was until he noticed the last lines that the woman had written underneath the message.

[If you want your wife to continue facing such situation you can continue to ignore me, Lin.]

Fan Meilin's eyes widened as he raised his head and looked at his wife. Though he knew that there was something wrong with Luo Huian getting only dangerous mission, he never thought that this woman was the one behind it.

He turned on his feet and headed to a small balcony where he called Madam Liao.

The call was answered almost immediately as the woman chuckled, "It seems like I have some good fortune today. Should I try running for lottery?" The woman was teasing him as if the two of them were close friends which made Fan Meilin sick.

He hated how Madam Liao could still act as if she had done nothing wrong!
