Grand Voyage: I Start My Journey With A Ghost Ship!

chapter 127

Yang Yi had thought the Vitality Coconut was discontinued, but to his surprise, he could still buy it from Shen Guanquan.
However, that special fruit tree grew very slowly—it would take another week or two before it bore fruit.
Given its ability to restore stamina, Yang Yi decided to buy some and make Vitality Coconut Juice Coolers.
Though not as potent as the Appetite Potion, the juice had no side effects, and drinking it restored a fair amount of stamina.
After chatting for a bit with Shen Guanquan, Yang Yi went back to selling his goods.
He planned to sell off some Pale Worm Fat and Scorched Liquor.
The former was an excellent fuel source.
The latter could also be burned, but its real value was that drinking it granted resistance to extreme cold.
Selling both at this time would fetch a very high profit.
He had 978 liters of fat left and planned to sell 478.
Of his 332 liters of Scorched Liquor, he planned to sell 300.
He kept some in reserve—just in case. Especially the fat—it was perfect for setting fires, and there would definitely be many chances for that.
Once he decided to sell, Yang Yi checked the market for similar products.
Other players had also managed to produce worm fat, but theirs was of lower quality—Fine grade rather than Superior. The going price was 100 conch coins per liter.
Yang Yi examined one listing:
[Name: Murky Fat of the Pale Worm]
[Type: Consumable]
[Quality: Fine]
[Description: Fat extracted from the corpse of a Pale Worm. Highly flammable, burns with an irritating odor.]
Compared to Suna’s refined fat, this one burned with an acrid smell and lacked the healing effect for frostbite and burns.
So Yang Yi boldly set his price at 300 conch coins per liter.
That was far too extravagant for use as simple fuel—but players still bought it, mostly for the healing properties. Most only bought a liter or two.
Only Shen Guanquan bought 100 liters in one go.
Seeing how valuable it was, Yang Yi felt a bit regretful. Back when he had killed a whole swarm of Pale Worms, he’d tossed all their bodies into the gacha machine...
If he had refined them into fat instead, he could’ve made a fortune.
But at the time, the Nyxstar’s cargo hold couldn’t store so many corpses. If he had chosen to refine the fat on-site, he would’ve had to linger in that sea for far too long—and in that case, keeping first place might’ve been impossible.
Considering the bonuses and his lumber profits, he hadn’t actually lost out.
And in that kind of environment, there wasn’t much room to think about profit—reaching the goal was all that mattered.

While selling the fat, Yang Yi began listing the Scorched Liquor too.
The cold-resistance effect was incredibly strong—it was the perfect time to sell. Once everyone left the Extreme Winter Sea, its value would plummet.
Still, plenty of players wanted to buy some, just in case.
Yang Yi priced it at 500 conch coins per liter, adding the slogan:
““Drink a cup of Scorched Liquor—and you’ll have the guts to streak at minus 30 degrees!”
“Is that for real?”
“Spread the word! The one-eyed boss is drinking and streaking in the dead of winter!”
“……”
“Spread the word! The one-eyed boss likes streaking!”
“……”
“Spread the word! The one-eyed boss is so broke he can’t afford pants! Everyone, buy a bottle to support him!”
“……”
“Wait, are we even sure he’s one-eyed?”
Speculation ran wild.
Most players assumed it was the One-Eyed Captain selling, but some doubted it.
Yang Yi couldn’t be bothered to explain—he just focused on selling and making money.
He received tons of friend requests and spam messages but ignored them all.
By the second half of the night, he had finally sold everything.
When he checked the prices of cold-resistant clothing, he found they’d already dropped.
By now, almost every surviving player had winter gear; unless it was high-quality, it wouldn’t sell.
So Yang Yi scrapped the idea of selling his own—better to keep it in case it came in handy later.
At this point, his conch coin balance had reached an incredible 498,100—nearly half a million.
By then, he had used up all his free chat messages, so he had to spend 100 conch coins per post to continue advertising.
He spent 1,000 that way.
With so much money, Yang Yi no longer cared just about Rare-grade gear—he wanted Epic-grade items too.
None had appeared on the market yet, but sooner or later, they would.
And when they did, it would probably cost a fortune to buy one.
Once everything was sold, less than five hours remained before dawn.
Yang Yi quickly went to sleep.
He drank an Appetite Potion, ate four loaves of black bread, and downed a few roasted longfin sardines before dozing off.
“Maybe I can buy some Pale Worm corpses, refine them into fat, then sell that…”
That was his last thought before drifting into sleep.
***
The next day.
Yang Yi got up at dawn and checked the weather:

Location: Sea of Origin
Daylight: 10 hours remaining
Temperature: 14–22°C
Wind: Level 3
Pleasant climate, long daylight—perfect conditions.
Yang Yi didn’t rush to land on the island. Instead, he discussed with Suna whether refining worm fat for profit was feasible.
It was possible—but not as profitable as imagined.
The biggest issue was that corpses sent through the gacha machine underwent a change in nature.
Not only could they no longer be used for gacha, but their research and crafting potential also dropped sharply.
This phenomenon only occurred in corpses that could be used in the gacha system—resulting in reduced oil yield and lower quality.
Yang Yi spent 500 conch coins to buy a worm tentacle as thick as a human thigh to test it.
He refined just 14 liters of fat from it, and the quality came out only Fine.
At last night’s rate, that would sell for about 1,400 conch coins—but it took a full hour.
After that one test, Yang Yi gave up the idea of oil refining and went all in on lumber harvesting.
He even called Suna to help—her job was hauling logs.
Otherwise, before they even finished selling the wood, the market price would crash.
As more players left the Extreme Winter Sea, some {N•o•v•e•l•i•g•h•t} lucky ones were bound to find islands too. When that happened, wood sellers would increase, players in the region would decrease, and prices would drop fast.
Yang Yi had to sell all the island’s wood before that happened.
With Suna’s help, she could also handle the chopping of banana trees.
After about five hours, there wasn’t a single intact tree left on the island.
After a simple meal and short rest, they began hauling logs.
Hauling everything in one direction was too inefficient, so they moved the logs to nearby coastlines instead.
That way, the Nyxstar could move along the shore and use its grappling hooks to pick up the timber directly.
The process was long and tiring—they carried for a while, rested, then continued.
By nightfall, they had only managed to transport logs from just over a thousand trees—equivalent to 13,842 units of wood.
Of those, 10,000 units were sold to the Heart of Steel in two separate transactions, netting a total of 250,000 conch coins.
