Golden Dragon: Six Thousand Years of Empire

Chapter 366: God-Devouring Dragon

"The Dragon Clan's lineage is the purest, its form most resembling my offspring, yet he wants to become an Underground Monarch!"

Noah had some reservations about his second son's request for a title, but he agreed nonetheless.

Because Terramus had effectively become the Lord ruling over vast areas of the Dark Territory. The only thing lacking now was his father's recognition.

Whether Noah approved or not, Terramus was already the Great Lord of the Dark Territory. As a father, Noah could not criticize the achievements his offspring had fought for over the years.

Since the child wanted it himself, naturally Noah would let him go for it. After all, the Dragon Clan often produced distinctive dragons, and he himself was among them, so his son was no exception.

Though this was partly due to his father's influence, the child now quite enjoyed it and found fulfillment, discovering his own pleasures that he appreciated.

"Whose fault do you think this is?"

Standing beside Noah, the Great Angel Commander heard the Holy Dragon's complaints and glanced at him.

"Didn't you say you captured a God Hunter? Someone of my kind, show me."

Noah avoided responding and abruptly changed the subject.

According to the Great Angel Commander's account, the God Hunter squad that attacked him had indeed been annihilated, none escaped, but not all were dead. There was one survivor.

"I have sealed it in Mage City."

Under Ophelia's guidance, Noah soon met the only surviving God Hunter and the only one captured alive.

It was an Ancient Blue Dragon exuding a heavy aura of historical vicissitudes, but unlike ordinary Blue Dragons, he lacked the crude and heavy bone armor and scales. Its overall form appeared more ancient and elegant, its scales even had a crystalline quality, resembling more the Blue Gemstone Dragon of the Gemstone Dragon Clan than the Blue Dragon of the Colorful Dragon Clan.

"Ancestor Dragon? No, just a Ancestor Return Blue Dragon."

Noah wasn't deceived by the appearance. The source of power within the bloodline couldn't fool him. By examining the blue dragon's hundred-meter-long body, Noah identified its lineage and heritage.

When Noah saw this Blue Dragon, its eyes were still closed in pretend slumber, looking rather weak.

Its body seemed pieced together, with terrifying scars running through it, indicative of a dragon's body torn asunder, horrifying to behold.

By most creatures' understanding, this dragon should have succumbed to the Nether River, yet it was still breathing, still alive, though only just, hanging by a thread.

"So pitiful!"

Although aware that the Ancestor Return Blue Dragon was among those sent to assassinate him, Noah found it difficult to feel any anger.

Not because he was particularly merciful, but because Noah recognized from the dragon's scars that this pitiful state was caused by his own defense during sleep.

"At the time, you wanted to eat him, but after tasting Dragon Blood, you spat him out. Your body rejects consuming your kind."

Ophelia, observing Noah's expression, provided a description of the battlefield, explaining why the Blue Dragon survived.

Due to being in a dormant state, the retaliating body of the Ancestral Golden Dragon refused to consume its kin, thus opting to tear the Ancestor Return Blue Dragon apart.

After dealing with a Priest attempting to escape, Ophelia discovered the Blue Dragon, already torn into pieces by her mate, showing signs of revival. She took the meat fragments back to Mage City and sealed them, resulting in its current form.

"Originally, I intended to kill him, but a living Blue Dragon is far more valuable than a dead one, and it's your trophy, so I decided to let you handle it upon awakening."

"The logic is sound, but he doesn't seem to have many years left."

Noah glanced observing the Blue Dragon's refusal to open its eyes, commented to the Great Angel Commander beside him,

"Better to kill him while he still has a little vitality and forge his Dragon Soul into bone, probably a fine Inheritance weapon."

"Your Majesty, have mercy! Please spare this insignificant one's life."

Upon hearing Noah's words, the Ancestor Return Blue Dragon hurriedly opened its eyes, which were adorned with thunder patterns, akin to a shattered Blue Gemstone, giving the dragon's slit pupils an imposing air. However, his sycophantic demeanor shattered any fantasy of the Dragon Clan's dignity.

"Give me a reason to spare you."

Noah looked at the old dragon, who finally stopped pretending to sleep.

"Your Majesty, I never intended to harm you, not once did I plan to take action against you..."

"If truly you had no intentions, you wouldn't be here before me."

Noah interrupted the old dragon's excuses, his gaze toward the Ancestor Return dragon was indifferent, neither sorrowful nor joyful, but this lack of emotion terrified the old dragon further.

"I didn't want to come, but a certain majesty offered benefits I couldn't refuse, so I decided to join the events."
