Golden Dragon: Six Thousand Years of Empire

Chapter 345: The Ghost Fleet from the North

It is precisely due to this rampant thought of 'if they can do it, so can I' that has led to the gradual construction of a city named Arendelle on the northeast coast, rising from nothing to something.

The speed of construction of this port city is fast enough to rank among the top three in the Holy Dragon Land. The reason it is among the top three is because this land has too many masterpieces originating from Legendary Mages. Compared to Legendary Mages, the merchants driven by profits appear a bit slower in terms of efficiency.

In just less than three years, at most two and a half years, a city capable of accommodating a million people, with room for expansion, stands tall on the northeast coast of the Xilantia Continent, becoming a famed ice-free port across nations.

On the third day after Arendelle announced its completion and the port opened to the outside, amidst floating ice and occasionally visible shattered glaciers on the sea, a fleet emitting a green luminescence sailed smoothly from the northern icy currents.

As soon as this fleet appeared on the horizon, the urgent ringing of bells resounded from the greenstone lighthouses standing on the port coastline. Amidst the unsettling chimes, numerous members of the Dragon Clan soared into the sky, all gravely gazing towards the distant horizon where the sea and sky met.

This was not a normal worldly fleet, but an undead fleet composed of one extremely dilapidated ghost ship after another.

It included warships, merchant ships, barges, and small boats, looking like a hodgepodge of various types of vessels, some of which were not even suitable for navigating the complex waters of the ocean.

Any seasoned sailor seeing such a ragtag fleet on the sea would surely burst into laughter.

But now, even the most seasoned captains couldn't laugh; instead, they were drenched in cold sweat, trembling despite the protection of the Dragon Power.

Ghost ships have always been among the most common protagonists in the terrifying legends of the sea, and now they were witnessing not just one ghost ship, but a formidable ghost fleet.

"We must immediately seek assistance from Elisium, requesting them to send Ancient Dragons for aid. We definitely cannot resist this undead fleet on our own."

Upon sensing the undead aura spreading across the horizon, the mature Bronze Dragon, who found this natural deep-water port for Scadilo, immediately suggested, azure dragon eyes full of seriousness.

As a Dragon Clan member previously active near the coast, he certainly did not fear ghost ships. How could the noble Dragon Clan possibly fear the undead?

But a large undead fleet composed of ghost ships was a different matter. Such a large-scale group of ghost ships would certainly include extremely terrifying legendary malevolent spirits. This was not a danger that this group of mature Dragons, who had not even reached Legendary status, could handle.

As for the group of merchants, those ignorant fools, they all flocked to the seaside, craning their necks with various vision-enhancing tools to point at the distant ghost ships, as if they hadn't realized the horrifying danger that could annihilate the entire city in an instant, turning them all into undead.

"This fleet should be from the Undead Kingdom; there is no need to be nervous!"

In contrast to the extremely cautious mature Dragons around her, Ice Princess Scadilo, knowledgeable of certain hidden facts, appeared calm.

She knew the situation of the Undead Kingdom in the north because her brother had spent half his childhood there. According to the information her brother revealed to her, the ruler of the Undead Kingdom was one of their nephews.

Although she had never met the nephew who ruled over millions of undead, Scadilo held a great liking for him.

Thus, she had no fear whatsoever towards the seemingly terrifying ghost fleet that blanketed the sky with ominous clouds, but instead was slightly eager to try.

Because she wanted to know if her nephew had heard about her success in building a city here and brought his subordinates and gifts to congratulate her.

Although the possibility was slim, it did exist. After all, the Undead Kingdom was also her family's property.

Legend has it that the current ruler of the Undead Kingdom, the Demon King, once sounded out her brother about inheriting his position, but her brother refused at the time and was unwilling to take over.

"That's the Undead Kingdom? Why don't we need to be nervous?"

Hearing Scadilo's words, a group of mature Dragons was utterly confused because they couldn't discern the logical relations at all. Aren't the living and the undead natural enemies?

"This is a fleet obviously controlled by an Enslaved Spirit with Legendary wisdom, what's there to fear? If it belongs to the Undead Kingdom, then there's even less reason to worry. The Undead Kingdom has reached secret agreements with my father and the Atlas Kingdom."

Although no so-called secret agreement existed, since it was their family's business, she could say whatever she wanted, as she could make one up anytime if needed.

Upon hearing this, the group of mature Dragons immediately relaxed. Upon careful thought, it was true. If the undead had sufficient wisdom, they would surely know to revere.

This land was under the rule of the Holy Dragon. If the Undead Kingdom did not want to reignite the flames of war, there was no way this fleet would attack Arendelle, as that would be a provocation to the Holy Dragon's might.

"I'll go over and ask them what this is about."

Just as the group of mature Dragons calmed down, they heard the esteemed Your Highness, who ascended to the sky with them, speak stunning words, scaring them out of their wits.

"Your Highness, what are you talking about?"

"They are cruel undead. How can someone as noble as you communicate with them?"

"This is too dangerous."

While the mature Dragons couldn't help but remind, or rather urgently dissuade, Scadilo, nonchalant, casually waved her hand, whereupon snowflakes began to fall from the sky, swirling, and ice crystals floated in the air, forming a snowy pathway stretching towards the sea, directly pointing at the now stationary ghost fleet.

"Don't worry, my father has given me plenty of treasures."

Seeing a mere fledgling able to control the boundless wind and snow, possessing the ability to alter the climate, the group of mature Dragons also fell silent, saying nothing more.

Thus, under the watchful gaze of a group of merchants and guards, who found the spectacle never too big, they saw a noble little figure with silver hair cascading to her waist, stepping toward the distant ghost fleet on the divine bridge of ice and snow.

As the esteemed Your Highness gradually approached, a large ghost wearing a crown emerged from the distant undead fleet.

The enormous figure loomed like an azure mountain range between the dim, gloomy sky and the ice-filled sea, with its terrifying aura permeating every part of the sea and sky, even making the confident merchants shudder involuntarily.

What was shocking was that upon the appearance of this seemingly ghostly emperor, it actually bowed respectfully to the venerable Your Highness.

Subsequently, instead of the intense conflict that should have ensued, the two began conversing, and outsiders could not understand what they were saying.

However, the sharp-eyed merchants noticed that after a brief conversation, Scadilo returned with a smile on her perfect little face.

"Your Highness, what did that evil undead say to you?"

As Scadino returned, a group of Dragons immediately gathered around her.

"Nothing much, just the undead wanting to trade with us and asking if we are willing."

The smile on Scadilo's face was as bright as the warm sun of spring, and anyone could see that the little Silver Dragon was in an exceedingly happy mood.
