Chapter 344: My Little Girl Is Growing Up (Part 2)
Noah could indeed keep an eye on her, but using coercive means was meaningless; he could keep her body, but not her unleashed thoughts. Someday, she would find an opportunity to explore the outside world herself. Instead of this, it was better to let go voluntarily.
However, letting go did not mean allowing her to run wild, so,
"Perhaps you do possess the ruler's talent I just mentioned, but you are too young now. You haven't completed the studies I've outlined. You are my daughter; do you want to be the first to break the rules I've set and challenge me as the Dragon?"
"Dad, I don't plan to challenge you. I just think I can give it a try, just like my brothers did."
Even in the face of pressure from the Holy Dragon, feeling the authority from her father, Scadilo showed no signs of submission; she still firmly held on to her ideas.
"You are my youngest child. Since you insist on following your brothers' footsteps, I allow you to try. However, while you are trying, you must also complete your studies.
If you do not achieve excellent grades in your term exams, no matter what you accomplish outside, you must stop and return to the academy to continue studying until you complete all your studies and obtain your diploma from me."
Noah set clear requirements; since his little daughter had ideas, he should let her try. As a father, obstructing a child's ideas when they have both a plan and the ability to execute it will inevitably cultivate feelings of negativity and rebellion in her heart.
So, the best approach was, within his controllable range, to let go freely and allow his little daughter to showcase herself. Success would be best, and failure was no big deal. Wasn't a father's role to clean up for his daughter at times like this?
"Yay!"
Upon hearing her father's specific requirements, Scadilo agreed without thinking and cheered immediately.
Her excitement even affected Noah, prompting the old Golden Dragon to ask,
"Where do you want to be your Dragon Lord? Or do you need me to bestow a piece of land upon you?"
"No, I don't want your land grant, Dad. I want to rely on my own capabilities to claim a territory."
Hearing Noah's suggestion, Scadilo rejected it without a second thought,
"As for the direction, I want to go to the East Coast. I've heard there are many primitive coasts not yet developed. I want to find an excellent natural deepwater port and build my city there.
Not only on the shore, but I also wish to establish a palace underwater. I want to create a mega territory spanning the ocean and the continent, and when I come of age, I will be the true Frost Queen!"
With her plans for the future laid out, and her father offering advice but not obstruction, Scadilo's mood became increasingly joyful, allowing her to visualize her bright future.
"If you seek to become the Frost Queen, you shouldn't be on the East Coast but rather head north."
Hearing his daughter's grand ambitions, Noah couldn't help but interject.
"The North? No, I'm not going. It's too boring there."
Scadilo thought for a moment and shook her head to reject her father's suggestion.
Although the frigid polar environment north aligns well with the Silver Dragons' attributes, Silver Dragons appreciated the prosperity of civilization, and the chance of encountering a Silver Dragon in a city far exceeds the possibility of meeting one amidst the Polar Glaciers.
"I want to become the Silver Dragon Queen of the East!"
"Hahaha, my daughter will indeed become the Ice and Snow Queen of the East in the future."
A despotic monarch might entertain certain thoughts or intervene upon hearing such ambitious declarations from their close heirs; however, at that moment, Noah couldn't help but laugh,
"Not just the East, but you will also be the Queen ruling the Eastern Sea of the continent."
"That's a goal to be achieved after I come of age. For now, my first task is to find a natural deepwater port!"
Scadilo wasn't lost in the beautiful visions of her future; she remained focused on the present, genuinely planning how to leave the academy, head to the Eastern Coast, and find a natural deepwater port,
"Dad, can I hire the Bronze Dragons from the academy?"
"You want the Bronze Dragons to help you find a natural port?"
Noah saw through his youngest daughter's intentions at a glance.
"Yes."
Scadilo nodded heavily.
"This is too dangerous for dragons that haven't matured yet. No."
Noah refused his daughter's request.
"I didn't mean my friends; they are indeed too weak. I was referring to the teachers at the academy. Can I approach Mick and Quentin?"
"Hiring adult dragons? Quite the idea. But do you have the means to pay their wages?"
Noah admitted to underestimating his daughter's initiative. This was not a spur-of-the-moment idea but rather one arrived at after careful consideration,
"If you don't, I could advance you some..."
"No, I could sign an IOU with my real name, or I could allocate a portion of the future port taxes to them."
Scarotti declined her father's financial assistance once again.
Strictly speaking, the little Silver Dragon, who hadn't even transitioned out of the hatchling stage, exhibited a remarkable independence and a cunning "sky swap for white wolf" strategy.
"IOU? Future taxes?"
Noah experienced a mix of joy and a touch of unexplainable complexity in his heart at that moment, seeing his daughter grow more independent.
As his most beloved daughter, Scadilo carried vast wealth inside her, the kind that would make even the Ancient Dragons envious.
However, it couldn't be realized or used for hiring purposes. Thus, in another sense, Scadilo was penniless because her young age left her with no usable assets.
However, totally unexpected was that despite her young age, her thinking was deep. She started advancing into the future early and even planned to hire adult dragons using potential income, without parting with a single coin.
Hiring adult Bronze Dragons to find an excellent deepwater port capable of constructing a city, and then using part of the future taxes from this deepwater port to pay the Bronze Dragons' wages.
What an ingenious idea? Noah, however, could not recall a devilish teacher at his academy that instilled such thoughts. If she came up with the brilliant notion on her own, her future was boundless.
Because, as his daughter, the Bronze Dragons working at the academy would surely agree to Scadilo's request, even if temporarily unpaid, they would be more than willing to help the princess.
Because pledging bonds of assurance, aside from her own future, there was also Noah as her father. This little one seemed to want nothing yet missed nothing.
"Can't I do that?"
Seeing the increasingly complex emotions on her father's face, Scadilo cautiously inquired.
"Yes, no matter what you want to do, as long as it doesn't violate principles, go ahead."
Noah spoke warmly.
"What are principles?"
After thinking for a moment, Scadilo couldn't help but ask.
"I am the principle!"
"Huh?"
"Under my watch, you can do anything."
"Yay, Dad is the best."
With her father's promise, Scadilo's courage soared. Cheering, she returned to the academy, and just half a day later, a mighty dragon group left the Cloud Sea Secret Realm for the Eastern Coast under Noah's complex gaze.
"Your Majesty, Princess…"
"What did she offer to take so many teachers from my academy?"
Noah looked at the dragon elf who came to report.
"According to unverified reports, Her Highness Scadilo appears to have promised them some tax clauses."
"So, she used a city that doesn't yet exist to woo a group of dragons away from me?"
