Chapter 48: Chapter Forty-Seven
Aiden POV
I gaped up at Raiven. I never even realized I did that until now. I can't believe I called our baby by his name. How could I? Why? Was I so blinded by anger I let it slip without me knowing?
I looked over at the sleeping Killian. I have to fix this. I can't have him hurt because of me. I started to stand up. Raiven pushed me back down.
"Not so fast. He's sleeping right now. Let him be." Raiven glared down at me.
I glanced away from him. I knew he was right. He always was. How can I make it up to Killian?
"Raiven? How can I make it up to him? How can I fix it?" I glanced at him from the corner of my eyes.
Raiven tilted his head. "Apologize. Then show him you're not mad at him."
I stared at him. Then nodded. "Yes. I will once he wakes up." I tapped my chin. "I think I'll go buy him his favorite snack."
Raiven nodded. "Do you remember what it is? It has been awhile since he had some."
I thought back. The last time Killian had his favorite snack was right before starting college. I stood up and walked out of the dorm. I walked to the convenience store that wasn't very far from the college.
I walked over to the cakes. I looked through them before grabbing the Boston Cream one. Killian loved everything Boston Cream. I walked up to the check out and placed it on the belt. Since there was someone in front of me I had to wait.
When it was my turn to check out the cashier reached for the cake but then paused. "Umm. Hi."
I looked up at the voice. "Well hello."
He finally took the cake and rang it up. "I'm sorry about earlier. I know I was ignoring you and I'm sorry. I had to."
I paid for the cake and took the bag. "I know. Killian told us what happened. He only did after I got mad at him and made him cry."
"You did what!?" Cameron raised his voice.
I glanced at Cameron. "I got mad at Killian. I was trying to figure out why you suddenly started ignoring me and when I mentioned it to him he was upset so I knew he had something to do with it. I got mad and let it out on him. I called him by his name which we never do."
Cameron facepalmed. "Oh Aiden." He shook his head.
I lifted the bag up. "I know. Raiven already knocked some sense into me. That's why I'm here getting this. It's his favorite snack."
Cameron nodded. "Yes. That's a good start. Just show him you're sorry and you love him."
I rubbed the back of my neck and nodded. "Yes, I know. That's what I'm planning on doing. Anyways. I should get going." I looked back at Cameron. "Don't ignore me again. You're one of my few friends and it hurt when you started ignoring me."
Cameron looked taken back. "You mean it?"
I nodded. "Yes. Before Raiven and Killian I always stuck to myself."
Cameron smiled. "Ok. So you think my feelings won't get in the way?"
I laughed. "I know you won't let them. Just continue being a friend. That's all I need."
Cameron laughed and held his hand out. "Will do. Just friends. I can do that."
I took his hand and shook it. "Good. I don't want any more problems between my mates and my friend."
With that I walked out of the convenience store and went back to the dorm. When I walked into the room I found Raiven laying down on the bed with Killian. He was rubbing his back while Killian's head was on his chest. He was also playing with his hair.
"How is he?" I asked as I put the cake down on the table and walked over to sit next to Raiven. I ran my fingers through Killian's hair.
Raiven glanced up at me and then returned his gaze to Killian. "Resting. He stopped crying when you left."
I frowned. "Guess that's good. I got his cake. Now just have to wait until he wakes."
As I ran my fingers through Killian's hair I could feel him tense up a bit. I withdrew my hand and he relaxed into Raiven again. I sighed and stood up. I walked over to the couch and sat down.
"Guess he doesn't want me to touch him yet." I mumbled.
"Can you blame him? One of the two people that he thought would never be angry with him got mad at him. He depends on us to always be there for him." I heard Raiven say. I looked over my shoulder at him. He wasn't even looking at me. His attention was all on Killian.
I looked away. "I know." I rubbed the back of my neck. "I'll do all I can to make up for it."
"All you can do is show him you're sorry and won't do it again no matter what. You have to believe in him." Raiven nuzzled into Killian's hair.
I nodded. "I know and I will. I will never let my temper get the best of me again."
"Good."
I stood up and put the cake in the fridge so it didn't melt. I didn't know how long it would take until Killian woke up and wanted it. I looked down on him again. He was clinging to Raiven like his life depended on it.
I slowly walked up to the bed and sat down on the edge. Just as I sat down Killian tensed up. I stood back up and he relaxed. I sighed as I went to sit down on the couch again.
"He tenses up with just my presence." I whined. I wanted to be near him but with the way he keeps tensing when I am I can't. "It looks like I'm not sleeping in the bed tonight."
Raiven looked up at me with an apologetic expression. "Looks like it. Just let him be until he calms down."
I nodded. "That's all I can do. I don't want to make it worse."
I laid down and tried to close my eyes to get some sleep. Unfortunately I couldn't fall asleep. If I did, it was very restless. I kept tossing and turning. I couldn't find a comfortable spot.
When I did sleep it was full of memories of my past. Back when my parents were alive, before I had to work for the Alpha. My parents were at the bottom of the totem pole. My parents had secrets that they didn't want the Alpha to know.
They let people think they were poor and weak. I ended up being the pack's punching bag. The whole pack took their frustrations out on me. They did everything and anything to me.
I didn't know until a year after my parents died that they were ones of the strongest and richest in the pack. I found out when I went to check my account and found so much money.
They knew they were going to lose their lives if the Alpha found out who they really were. They used an alias in public and never once had pictures taken of them at events.
One of the reasons I hated the old Alpha was because he took my parents from me. All because they were stronger and richer than him. He thought that since he was their Alpha he would get everything when they died.
He didn't know my parents had put in precautions if that happened. Everything went to me. I was now slowly bringing their company back to life after it was basically dead for the past few years.
I was slowly merging it into the company I just acquired. I was making it bigger and better. Raiven was helping me get it started since he had more business experience.
