God's Imitator

Chapter 32: Two Proposals

First proposal: The community will issue a 1000-minute visa time to all players every day.

Second proposal:

All players within the community who participate in the game are required to contribute 5% of the visa time earned in-game to the Community Security Fund.

This Community Security Fund will provide a minimum subsistence guarantee for all players at a rate of '80 minutes of visa time per person per day'.

If the visa time is not used up by the end of the day, the remaining time returns to the Community Security Fund pool; if exceeded, players will cover the excess with their own visa time.

Additionally, materials purchased using the 'Community Security Fund' can be freely distributed and used among players and are not considered a form of transaction.

Everyone finally reached a consensus.

"Then Fu Chen should go submit the proposal. If the second proposal still cannot be approved, then delete the items from back to front and try a few more times."

Cai Zhiyuan glanced at Li Renshu: "Renshu, could you explain it to the others?"

Li Renshu nodded: "Alright."

Everyone left the room, and at that time, the others were still gathered in the hall and had not left.

During the day, everyone can move freely within the community, go for a walk outside, swim in the pool, or simply take a nap in their room.

However, at this time, most people seemed to prefer staying in the hall with others.

Perhaps because they were not yet particularly familiar and comfortable with this environment, staying with others felt safer, or perhaps to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings.

When everyone came out of the room, Lin Sizhi clearly noticed a few people casting furtive glances at them.

Obviously, under the same roof, no matter how low-key their small meeting of five was, it couldn't escape everyone's eyes.

Fu Chen walked straight out of the hall.

According to the relevant instructions, there is a separate building outside the hall, which is mentioned in the rules as the 'Community Management Office'.

When players wish to propose, or vote on existing proposals, they must go to the 'Community Management Office' to complete the relevant operations.

Each player entering the 'Community Management Office' has a corresponding time limit and must leave before the limit is reached; likewise, when a player is using the 'Community Management Office', other players must not forcibly enter or share its use.

Using violence or other means to coerce players, preventing players from entering the 'Community Management Office', and similar tactics are considered violations.

Violation of these rules could result in punishments of varying severity.

Everyone subconsciously watched Fu Chen enter the 'Community Management Office' through the floor-to-ceiling windows in the hall, but before they could raise questions, Li Renshu had already sat down at the long table and started explaining.

"First of all, I apologize to everyone. We held a small meeting just now and discussed a proposal with only a portion of people involved.

"But please rest assured, we did this not to form any small faction, but primarily to consider some people's feelings, so it wasn't appropriate to be too high-profile.

"The content of the proposal is as follows..."

Li Renshu did not elaborate on the process of the five discussing the proposal's content but directly introduced the content of the two finalized proposals to everyone.

As she roughly explained, the corresponding prompt appeared on the big screen.

[A player has proposed a bill, and the community has approved it.]

[In the next hour, all members, please enter the 'Community Management Office' or use your personal computer to participate in a secret ballot.]

[If the proposal receives more than half support, it will be implemented as a basic rule.]

[Proposal content: Introduce rules related to the 'Community Security Fund'.]

[1. All players within the community participating in games must contribute 5% of in-game visa time earnings to the Community Security Fund.]

[2. This Community Security Fund will provide a minimum subsistence guarantee at a rate of '80 minutes of visa time per person per day'.]

[3. If not used up by the end of the day, the remaining visa time returns to the Community Security Fund pool; if exceeded, players will cover the excess with their own visa time.]

[4. Materials purchased using the 'Community Security Fund' can be freely distributed and used among players without being considered a transaction.]

At the bottom, the countdown for the remaining voting time was displayed.

59:59...

59:58...

Clearly, Fu Chen had submitted two proposals, and the first proposal, which was not approved, would not appear on the big screen for all to vote on or discuss.

This also confirmed the previous speculation by the five: player proposals are not unrestricted; they cannot conflict with the New World's underlying rules or existing basic rules, and in all likelihood, they also cannot conflict with already approved proposals.

Of course, if it's a player-proposed proposal, it may be possible to modify or even overturn it by proposing a new proposal afterward, but this still requires further verification.

Seeing the content on the big screen, a hint of delight appeared on Li Renshu's face.

The failure of the first "milking the system" proposal to be approved was within expectations.

And the fourth item in the second proposal also had a risk of conflicting with basic rules and being disapproved, which she had already mentally prepared for.

At this moment, seeing that all the content of the second proposal passed the review, she was still somewhat pleased.

After reading the content of the proposal, the expressions on everyone's faces varied.

However, most people were quite surprised.

Jiang He was the most agreeable and was the first to express herself.

"This proposal wasn't discussed in public to take care of us 'poor folks', right? Renshu, you're so thoughtful."

Xu Tong glanced at her: "How are you poor? I'm the one who should be called poor."

Ding Wenqiang's face also showed a bit of gratitude, and Su Xiuqin's joy was even more obvious.

Clearly, Ding Wenqiang could also feel that this proposal was mainly to help him with his food issues. And not bringing it to a public forum for discussion to some extent also took his dignity into consideration.

Su Xiuqin hadn't expected that the problem she'd raised would be resolved so promptly and effectively.

Li Renshu continued: "At present, this is still just a proposal, just a kind of initiative. If anyone has different opinions, we can still have extensive discussions."

Jiang He stood up: "What's there to discuss? Aren't things like this, similar to welfare protection, beneficial to everyone?

"This is a sign of our community entering a civilized society.

"Anyway, I'm going to cast my vote in favor first."

After Jiang He finished speaking, she left the hall directly to head to the 'Community Management Office'.

Soon, others followed suit in expressing their opinions.

"I agree too."

"Who would have thought of such a method? Now, even if you don't earn much visa time due to bad luck, you don't have to worry about food and drink."

"Exactly, without worries, you can participate in games with more ease in the future."

At this moment, Fu Chen had already returned, and there was even a round of applause among the crowd to welcome him.

Li Renshu looked at Wang Yongxin: "Brother Wang, if you have any thoughts, please voice them. Your opinion is also very important."

Others subconsciously looked at Wang Yongxin.

Obviously, if there were anyone who would oppose this proposal, Wang Yongxin would be the most likely candidate.

After all, he currently holds the most visa time and has always valued "the protection of private property".

Although 7 agreements would implement the proposal, Wang Yongxin's objection alone couldn't change the outcome, it would still be best to minimize disputes and achieve unanimous approval if possible.

To everyone's surprise, Wang Yongxin seemed to have no dissatisfaction at all.

He smiled: "Indeed, the three things in life one can never escape are birth, death, and taxes.

"Even in the New World, you still have to pay taxes according to the law.

"But rest assured, I fully support this proposal.

"Why are you all looking at me like that? Do you think I would oppose it?

"I have no reason to oppose it, after all, I'm already used to paying taxes in reality, not to mention that you're proposing a flat tax rate instead of a progressive tax rate, which is already quite friendly to me."

Seeing his reaction, everyone couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

It seems passing this proposal unanimously was a foregone conclusion.

Although many people foresaw that cracks would inevitably appear in this community's future, maintaining this kind of unity— even if it's surface-level unity— for as long as possible is still preferable.

Everyone left the hall one by one, heading to the 'Community Management Office' to vote.

Only ten minutes or so passed, and the voting was already complete.

[Proposal content: Introduce rules related to the 'Community Security Fund'.]

[Voting is complete.]

[Next, we'll announce the results of the anonymous vote:]

[In Favor: 11 votes.]

[Against: 1 vote.]

[The rules related to the 'Community Security Fund' are established.]

[The part of earnings not converted into visa time will be converted according to the new rules.]
