NOVEL NEXT Chapter 3: Combat Training
Not long after Klyne falls asleep, Ellie and Russel enter the room to wake him up.
"Yo Klyne! We have training now, so... Get up!" Russel screams into the room, shocking Klyne awake. He scrambles to get up before seeing Ellie and Russel.
"What's going on?!" Klyne yells out as he gains his composure.
"We need to take you to the training field out back and get started on training you." Ellie explains.
Quickly Klyne gets ready and meets them outside at an open space right behind the church.
"So what are you teaching me today?" Klyne asks.
"Today we want to see what skills you already have and possibly teach you new skills to focus on. So please demonstrate your skills in a duel against Russel." Ellie explains.
Klyne looks at Russel, who has already drawn his large sword. Klyne then quickly moves to the field and draws his two swords. Ellie speaks out quickly "Do you have a duel wielding skill Klyne?"
Klyne looks over and nods, returning his focus to the duel. As they begin the fight, almost instantly it was clear that Russel was much stronger than Klyne, Russel's speed was so impressive as he arrived in front of Klyne instantly as Russel's giant heavy sword is swung into Klyne.
Klyne quickly attempts to block the sword with his two swords, as the swords made contact Klyne is sent back a few meters and the area is filled with sparks and the sound of metal clanging.
"Impressive! Your stats are still too low but your weapons and your skill in using your weapon is quite strong too." Russel says as he charges at Klyne again. This time Klyne summons a magic circle as he casts balls of flames to fly towards Russel. Still not used to casting his accuracy is very poor, but what surprised Ellie is that his mana hasn't depleted entirely.
Russel's blade strikes against Klyne sending him flying but with only minor injuries. Ellie quickly heads over to heal Klyne only to find that all of his injuries have already healed.
Klyne gets up, putting his hand on the back of his head "That's my limit really, the skills I have aren't very good for combat at this stage." Klyne says.
Ellie asks "So what skills do you have?"
"Oh... I have the S Grade Super Recovery, A Grade Analysis, A Grade Fire Magic, A Grade Duel Wielding Sword Combat and B Grade Blacksmithing. All of them are at Level 100." Klyne responds.
"That's impressive! We will teach you a range of skills today then. Wind magic will be useful for you." Ellie says.
Russel pitches in "Yeah! The Spell Bade skill and Perception skill will be super useful for you too."
"What does the Spell Blade skill do?" Klyne asks Russel.
"The spell blade skill allows the user to enhance their weapon by injecting it with mana. While a weapon is under the effects of mana its form changes to what best suits the user and it deals magical damage too." Russel responds.
Klyne nods, "I see, lets learn that then and maybe we need to increase my level since my stats are quite low."
Ellie quickly responds "I mean based on what we saw just then maybe we can start exploring the goblin dens around here. What do you think Russel?"
Russel thinks for a bit before responding with, "Why don't we wait to show you new skills and take you to the forest to kill some goblins and get you leveled up."
They quickly pack a bag and head out into the same forest they met each other in.
Arriving in the forest they take a direction with no path that they had previously heard about goblins being sighted.
Ellie informs Klyne that they will not be taking action unless necessary. Goblins are one of the weakest monsters that have lived in the human lands for centuries. The average Goblin is around level 10 and have very few skills, their only skill of concern is their B Grade Dagger Combat skill.
It doesn't take long before they spot three goblins each wearing rags made of cheap materials and each one holding a small dagger made of chipped stone.
Klyne looks at Russel and Ellie, they nod to him for him to attack. Deciding to keep his distance he attempts to cast a fire bolt spell, a red magic circle the size of his palm forms in front of him, it quickly is sent off as a small ball of fire flies towards the goblins easily catching the goblin alight, Klyne continues to cast the spell till the three goblins are burnt to a crisp dead on the ground.
Klyne looks at his status to see he has raised in level to level 3. Putting his stat points into mana and speed to hopefully allow him to cast stronger fire magic.

After the successful fight the three smile before continuing into the forest to find more goblins. Wandering around aimlessly for hours they find another group of four goblins, but this time one of the goblins had a lighter green skin colour and was taller, it even had a small wooden shield.
Klyne immediately uses his analysis skill on it.

Klyne whispers "That's a goblin soldier, it has a recovery skill and is level 15."
The other two it there in shock, before Russel responds with "That can't be, goblin soldiers are only born from goblin kings who have evolved into a Hobgoblin king. If there was a Hobgoblin king around this forest then not even we could handle it by ourselves."
Klyne looks at them before saying "It's okay i will defeat these and i promise to protect the people of this town as is my mission from god." With that he turns to the group of goblins and draws his swords.
