God-Tier Fishing System

Chapter 165

The next day, Ethan awoke early from a deep meditative trance. Opening his eyes slowly, he adjusted both his physical and mental states, reaching a peak of readiness.

His fingertips traced over the smooth surface of the storage ring and checking his system inventory, reviewing each item, ensuring everything was in perfect order and in perfect place.

All was prepared.

The time had come.

He was ready to step beyond the familiar bounds of the Azure Origin Dao sect—perhaps to a future without return.

With a quiet resolve, Ethan left four jade slips on the wooden table beside him.

One for Mr. Burn.

One for Senior Sister Althea.

One for Junior Sister Liana.

The last reserved for Lyralei.

The jade slips bore no elaborate message, simply signifying his departure and a small message.

For Lyralei's, a small and carefully concealed "gift" also accompanied the note.

Satisfied, Ethan removed all defensive formations securing the place. He loosened himself and gently pushed open the sturdy door of his home.

He took one last glance at the place that had been his home for nearly thirty years.

His heart trembled unexpectedly.

Closing his eyes, he drew a long breath, grounding himself.

Then, he closed the door behind him.

His thoughts settled to a stillness like a lake's surface, while his expression reverted to calm and cold determination.

Before his final step, there was one last person he had to see—a disciple who had caught his attention.

Elias, bearers of the rare Heavenly Overlord Physique, one of the top 10 Ancient Spiritual bodies.

Dodging through the mountain paths, Ethan descended until he encountered a hurried disciple wearing the robe of a peak disciple.

"Ethan… Uncle, something's wrong! Elias! Something has happened to Elias!" the disciple exclaimed, breathless.

"What's the matter?" Ethan asked immediately, stepping forward with his usual calm.

"Junior Brother Elias went to the Outer Sect today to deliver supplies to his family, but he had a conflict with the disciples there. They alerted the elders, and Elias was seriously injured. There is an elder from the peak overseeing the matter; he asked me to come find you."

"Where is the Peak Master?"

"The master was not here yesterday. Seems he went out," the disciple replied, clutching his waist and panting deeply.

"Understood." Ethan patted the young man on the shoulder, and stretched out his great phoenix wings. With a leap, he soared into the sunlight, becoming a streak of light.

"Wow… those wings, they're so magnificent!" the disciple murmured with envy, eyes wide.

Then he gasped, feeling the chaotic tension inside him suddenly calm and heal.

"It's Uncle Ethan… truly the most powerful in the sect. His talents are unmatched!"

He clenched his fists, eyes blazing with renewed hope.

"Since Uncle Ethan has left, I'm sure he can handle Elder Adyr of the Outer Sect."

"To dare attack Master Ethan's favored disciple—he's courting death."

.....

At the Outer Sect Gate, in the Law Enforcement Hall:

Elder Adyr and another elder stood face-to-face arrogantly.

Cross-legged nearby, Elias struggled to catch his breath, coughing up thick mouthfuls of blood.

He had come today for a simple task: to deliver items to his family.

But the disciples of the Affairs Pavilion created trouble instead.

They accused him, a mere physical cultivator and new inner sect disciple, of having stolen numerous elixirs and spiritual herbs.

They mocked his possessions, claiming that he stole them from the inner sect..

Indeed, ordinary inner sect disciples could not amass such resources, but these had been granted by the Peak Master as a reward.

Disciples could hardly accept the truth.

Frustrated and insulted, Elias clashed with them.

Though outmatched by their number, Elias refused submission.

Their bickering escalated until Elder Adyr was summoned.

Believing the accusations, he immediately struck against Elias.

The result: grievous internal injuries.

Elias's harsh awakening to the cultivator world echoed loudly.

In the realm of power, the strong devoured the weak without reason.

Strength was paramount, but backing was just as crucial.

Without powerful allies at his side, Elias would never claim or keep his hard-earned treasures.

Even after his fight, he had triggered enemies hidden behind.

If the Peak Master hadn't appeared nearby, Elias might have been crippled or worse.

.....

"Elder Adyr is ruthless."

"That is the norm."

Elder Adyr had once been Peak Master of the Voidshade Peak in the inner sect himself.

Exiled to the outer sect after a grave mistake, his temper only worsened.

In the outer sect, none dared cross or even look at him for fear of his wrath.

Disciples bowed their heads in his presence, fearing sudden fury.

.....

"Boy, confess!" Adyr snarled coldly.

He hadn't intended to humiliate Elias greatly, but the boy's pure physical cultivation had struck a nerve.

Memories of Ethan's miraculous rise flooded him, reigniting his rage.

Taking out his frustration, he harshly sought to crush Elias.

.....

"Master Adyr," The elder from the peak interjected cautiously, "please do not go too far. It is not your turn to punish my disciple."

His strength paled beside Adyr, Adyr was a top cultivator at the peak of the Tribulation Transcendence realm.

Though relegated to an Outer Sect role, he was wise enough to avoid offending Adyr.

Still, he felt bound to protect his own, especially now that Elias bore Ethan's attention.

He sent a disciple to notify Ethan, awaiting his arrival.

.....

"do not go too far?"

"How should an inner sect disciple who steals be punished?"

"Such unlawful acts merit five years demotion and three years meditation in the Serene Mirror Lake."

"Yet, Elder, you shield your disciple? According to sect law, you should lose your rank and be demoted as well."

"Master Adyr, you can speak whatever you want, but you can't talk nonsense. Elias's elixirs and herbs were naturally rewarded by the peak. You said he stole them, where is the evidence?" the elder asked.

"are you planning to go against me?" Adyr's voice was full of menace.

Suddenly, a sphere of potent spiritual energy crystallized in his hand.

The elder's scalp tingled; he was but a Body Integration realm cultivator.

If Adyr attacks, he might not be able to block even a single attack.
