Questions Answered!
Hey ^^
Your favorite Author with wings here.
I'll be answering all kinds of questions here - about the story, the characters, worldbuilding, what was going through my head during the writing process, and even what my favorite color is (in case you are wondering xD). Drop your questions below, and I'll keep updating this page as I go.
Obviously, no spoilers.
1) (This question is from Ch 15, but I liked it very much xD) Morphinne: Quick question though - while he was an avatar-less God, it made sense that he didn't really have human emotions. He understood how he should feel, but didn't actually feel it, which helped him make optimal decisions for growth. Now that he has a new avatar, is that still the case? Does he still lack empathy, or is it coming back—kind of like hunger did? Thanks and good job so far!
---
I will answer this but hide it inside a Spoiler tag, because even though I won't reveal too much, it's still part of the mystery
When Verde took over the Vessel, his consciousness split:
"The moment the energy entered the body, a new connection awakened, and I realized I could control the vessel directly, even while still occupying my usual perspective.
This is so weird.
I wasn't used to being a god yet, and now I was experiencing what felt like two separate existences at once. And yet… somehow, I managed. My mind adapted. I could control and perceive both without conflict."
Avenor can feel human emotions and needs (including hunger, thirst, exhaustion...), but Verde can't. However, the "two existences" are connected very closely...

2) Royal Guard - So whats the difference between mana and divine power if there is one. if spells can be casted does that mean divine power can also be casted? and if yes does that mean it also affects the mind???? - we dont cares that we asked three questions, we wants all three of them answered
----
* Difference between mana & divine energy? - I won't go into details, but divine energy is kind of like mana, but only gods can possess it. Mana is basically a diluted version of divine energy xD
* Can divine energy be used the same way as mana? - Yes. Whatever mana can do, divine energy can do too.

3) shaunwinsor - I have a completely unrelated question. What got you into writing?
----
Always loved writing. Even as a kid (7–8), I loved to write short stories. They were mostly about Kiki and Zizi (I don't know why those names...) having small adventures together, usually ending with a lesson - likely influenced by the stories my parents used to read to me when I was much younger xD
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
Then I kind of stopped... until a few months ago, when I got extremely frustrated with how The Divine Hunter ended. That frustration sparked something, and I ended up writing a short outline of how I would've liked the story to progress and end. It was just an outline, nothing more, but the process was so satisfying that I started writing a fanfic - Naruto: Azure Awakening. I'm not proud of how the early chapters turned out, but I believe they helped me learn how to better show the images I see when shaping a story for my readers.
So, to answer your question, there are two reasons I write: first, I love sharing my fantasies, what I imagine, what I feel... and second, I hope to write something lasting, something that might inspire others the way LOTR, LOTM, and A Soldier's Life influenced God of Velmoryn.
The answer turned out a bit longer than I intended, but it is what it is xD

4) TheMoonlightCat - How many ways are there to use mana in the story and how many races are there on the planet?
----
* The ways to use mana? - So far, what we have explored: Spells (diagrams are just one way of using spells), Skills, Active Enhancements (Like Roy's bow). There will be more.
* Races? - I don't want to talk about this particular topic just yet, but I'll say that Book 1 will show at least two more races.

5) The King Of Hexes - what are your favotitte novels??
----
LOTR is my all-time favorite, but I assume you meant webnovels. So in that case: LOTM, A Soldier's Life, and Regressor's Tale of Cultivation. I tried to pick from different genres.

6) $luggish Be The $loth - What is your favorite color (my guess is red)?

7) MilkTheShark - Is there a cap to the amount of stats you can get from essences? I think it was stated earlier that they gave you stats. If there is a cap, what is it, or is it capped based on tier ie: lesser essence can give you 15%/+15 flat of base stat but greater essence can give you 20%/+20 flat etc.
---
There are five types of essences: Faint, Lesser, Greater, Refined, and Mythic.
Each higher tier gives 500% more effect than the one below it.
* A Faint essence gives 0.02
* Lesser gives 0.1
* Greater gives 0.5
The system starts to change with Refined, and especially with Mythic. Those essences (and creatures which yield them) are on a completely different level compared to the lower tiers. The increase in stats is permanent (in terms of time) and can grow infinitely, there is no upper limit.

8) MilkTheShark - Does the name Velmoryn come from anything? Does it have a real world root?
----
It's completely new and 100% my brainchild xD

9) SenthelRose -
To the author - Is Verde's loss of emotions supposed to be instant from chapter 1 or is this a gradual muting of emotion and still ongoing? We saw the blurb in chapter three specifically about his emotions.
It was strange - emotions like anxiety, confusion, fear, and even empathy felt distant and remote. But my curiosity and desire to obtain more Divinity Points felt unusually strong. It felt like I was instinctively driven to grow my divine power as quickly as possible.
However, reading his POV it doesn't feel as if Verde has actually lost his emotions (to use a Star Trek reference he doesn't feel like he's Data or a Vulcan with muted emotion). Instead I only get the impression he's lost his empathy, which you mentioned. Likewise he still has a desire even if it's only pointed toward Divinity Points. You've also described some things that are emotional when writing his POV. By turns he's been anxious, frustrated, angry, pessimistic, impressed, amused, excited, afraid/fearful, etc all within the first five chapters.
----
Verde's emotions, like empathy, compassion, and love... are gone. The ones meant to bond him with others simply aren't there anymore. He can still feel envy, anger, excitement, confusion… emotions that exist on a purely personal level, centered on himself. But sometimes, he might still come across as humanlike, because even though he can't feel certain things, he knows he's supposed to. So he reflexively acts as if he does.

10) Dragons are cool say otherwise - Is there a limit to growth in this world or does it go on forever?
----
There's no limit to growth, but there is a limit to how strong a mortal body can become.
