God of Technology: Creating the Internet in Another World

Chapter 101: Mech

"Yeah, it's possible, but in the real world, no one can see Him, and He can't touch anyone either." Ren spread his hands helplessly. A deity existing between the virtual and the real—not only did Ren find it strange, even the Goddess of Magic found it a bit bizarre.

To think this world would actually produce such a... such a weird deity.

A god who couldn't affect the real world—how was He supposed to collect faith power?!

He could make an impact in the virtual world, sure, but how many people could actually enter that virtual world? The only virtual worlds he could think of were the Great World of Depravity and Ren's network virtual world. Now the Great World of Depravity had been swallowed up by Ren, and the network virtual world couldn't pull in many people. Without divine power to maintain it, relying solely on natural magic power couldn't support the massive information transmission load.

What did it mean to be the weakest deity?

This was it—this was the weakest deity!

Undisputedly the weakest deity!!!

In the short term, he probably wouldn't be able to grow strong.

However, Ren also recognized his enormous potential.

As the network continued to develop, the Master of Depravity's authority would make him grow strong quickly.

Never mind that in this entertainment-starved era, tons of people would end up with "internet addiction"—just thinking about developing some short videos and game features in the future and letting him control those would be enough to make people fall into depravity. He'd get stronger without even trying.

"So what do you plan to do with Him? Take Him back to your divine realm?" The Goddess of Magic took a good while to digest this information before asking.

"I'll send Him to my virtual divine realm and have Him work as a network administrator for a while."

He couldn't just leave this guy in the Great World of Depravity, right?

Give it a bit more time and the Great World of Depravity would probably collapse.

Toss him into the virtual divine realm to temporarily replace Ren as the network administrator, working with the Scribe to manage the network. He could also help handle prayers from believers... Originally, Ren had planned to just create some virtual customer service to solve the believer prayer issue, but so far he hadn't been able to get it right. Everything he made turned out to be artificial stupidity—it just wasn't quite there.

Might as well let this guy fill in temporarily!

This guy was a deity, and now he was Ren's subordinate deity, so he could definitely handle it.

Plus, the things believers prayed for might even become nourishment for depravity.

After a quick exchange, Ren didn't care what the Master of Depravity thought. With a wave of his hand, the goat head vanished from the Great World of Depravity.

"Let's go too!"

Taking the Goddess of Magic's hand, he activated his authority. A wave of energy rippled outward, and in an instant, the two of them were back in the real world.

With a slight sense of perception, he discovered that almost everyone in the entire Fallen Ones' headquarters was lying on the ground, though there didn't seem to be any life-threatening danger.

"Don't know if these guys passed out from mental exhaustion or if something went wrong." Ren swept through with his divine power and quickly detected something unusual. "It seems like... they've all been corrupted by me?"

Heaven as his witness, He really hadn't intended to corrupt these dark cultists. These guys were just too extreme. From start to finish, his targets had been the Great World of Depravity, the Master of Depravity, and at most the God of War.

"Actually, that's not bad, is it?" The Goddess of Magic didn't seem to mind.

The Fallen Ones staying at headquarters were the elite among elites. In fact, there were far more than just these people—they were spread throughout the entire continent. Wherever there were vulnerable hearts, there were shadows of the Fallen Ones. Disappointed nobles, ministers who'd lost power struggles, second heirs of great families, supernatural beings who couldn't break through their limits...

The number of people wanting to fall into depravity was countless.

If these people could be put to use, they'd actually make a pretty good source of faith.

Suddenly, the Goddess of Magic realized that the one who didn't know how to collect faith might actually still be Her. Even this Master of Depravity who couldn't descend to the real world had a considerable number of very influential believers.

"You're right. Since they're already corrupted, I can remotely influence them later. Let's go!" For a moment, Ren didn't know how to handle it, so he just decided not to bother. After all, they were at their own headquarters. "We came all this way down here, so you want to check out the nearby cities?"

"Okay." The Goddess of Magic nodded slightly, her expression unchanged, but her heart was quite satisfied.

It had been tens of thousands of years since She'd come to the mortal realm. Although She could have believers offer up whatever She wanted, it ultimately wasn't as freeing as getting it Herself. Thinking about how Betty had brought back so many things from her shopping trip last time, She was definitely feeling a bit itchy too.

After sensing the area where life energy was most concentrated, they headed in that direction through the forest.

As for why they didn't just teleport, well, obviously they wanted to have fun for longer.

"Speaking of which, you corrupted so much of the God of War's divine power this time. Did you manage to steal any authority?"

"Yeah... and way beyond what I expected." Ren's expression suddenly became a bit strange. "The God of War's authority fused with the God of Creation's authority, plus my Magic Conductor authority..."

[Mechanical War Body]: Based on faith power as the foundation (can consume one's own faith power or be summoned through believer prayers), summons a mech war body weighing 1,722 tons and standing 79 meters tall (can continuously grow stronger as faith increases)...

Ren really hadn't expected that this trip would net him a super mech.

Honestly, this thing was basically every guy's dream, and he was genuinely interested. But in a supernatural world like this, he couldn't quite figure out what level of power this mech could unleash.

How would it fare against a legendary magician? Against a legendary knight? Against a deity? Without actually testing it in real combat, it was hard to say.

But this wasn't exactly the place to experiment with it. He'd have to look into it later.

"Kind of like that giant you summoned in the Great World of Depravity?" The Goddess of Magic seemed to be in a good mood and was being more talkative.

"There's still a big difference. This mech... war body is essentially a super Magic Conductor, made of metal, controlled by linkages, with magic power as kinetic energy. You could think of it as, like, a super magic puppet?" Ren thought about it and used what he felt was a pretty appropriate description.

The two chatted as they continued toward the densely populated area. Soon, they discovered they weren't actually in human territory—they were in the elven kingdom.

The Fallen Ones had actually built their headquarters near the elven capital. Talk about hiding in plain sight! The elves, who thought they could control everything through the forest, probably never imagined there'd be such a group right under their noses...

"What's that?"

Suddenly, the Goddess of Magic noticed that at the edge of the elven capital in the distance, there were numerous giant containers over three meters tall arranged in an orderly fashion. Some containers even reached about ten meters. It looked very... very industrial.

The orderly arranged giant containers were connected by various pipes, covered all over with druid runes and ordinary magic runes. They seemed to be runes added to ensure smooth transport of materials inside.

Around them, a large number of druids were constantly moving about, making adjustments... For some reason, images of breweries from Ren's past life suddenly popped into his head.

They seemed to have a similar vibe.

Of course, these weren't for brewing alcohol—they seemed to be for mass-producing magic potions.

But soon he spotted the problem. "These devices seem to be for extracting various potion essences or mixing and fermenting multiple materials, but the issue is, where's the energy source? They're not planning to have a bunch of druids constantly outputting magic power in front of these big guys day and night, are they?"

From a certain angle, these big tanks were actually Magic Conductors too... if they could solve the automatic charging or use a bunch of energy storage runes.

"Even if they mobilized all the druids in the entire elven capital, they couldn't last more than three days." After sensing the scale, the Goddess of Magic came to a conclusion. "They must be planning to get self-charging magic arrays from the Kingdom of Dawn. I can see their Magic Power Network receiver ports. So? Want to give them a hand?"
