Chapter 96: Bloody Explosion: His last attempt.
The pain slowed him down, but he knew this was a golden opportunity.
His level had just risen to level 28. It was the best time to attack.
"LOUIS!" she shouted, stunned.
But he ignored her. It didn't matter. She had done well.
So he shot one of the vampires that had just been hit by Laura, before jumping forward and striking two others, killing three almost instantly.
The timing was just right to shoot again in another direction, killing another. And one more shot came out very quickly, pushing his speed to the limit.
Although Laura was stunned, she realized she had to attack. So, her rifle appeared in her hand, and the tip of the rifle stuck to a vampire's head. Her calculation was perfect, as it was aligned with another one, and her shot was accurate.
The spirits hadn't even had time to react when the speed of the two had already taken out half of the fifteen.
Even the leader hadn't expected that, so he wasn't prepared.
He had been so taken by surprise that by the time he could react and attack them, the two had already killed three more, and the rest were burning in the flames of the fire that was consuming their companions.
Then, Louis and Laura stood back-to-back.
He quickly pulled out a potion to swallow, and she looked at him with concern.
"Are you okay? I didn't check the directions when I fired..."
He smiled. "Minor collateral damage. Nothing to worry about." He replied and glanced at her. "Have you leveled up?" He asked.
She shook her head. "I'm close, but they give me minimal experience."
"It makes sense." Looking at the levels, it almost seemed ridiculous to think they were in trouble in a dungeon like this.
But that's how unpredictable the dungeons are in this place.
That's why they're known as the most dangerous.
Louis turned his attention away from her and looked at the boss.
"It's coming."
From behind came several waves of blood, created from the blood of the 10 they had just killed.
And from below came one of the Pillars of Blood.
Even so, they both simply jumped aside and aimed at the waves of blood.
They split them in two with one shot and held their position, but the attacks had only just begun...
The remaining 20 or so small vampires attacked them once again, and the spirits became increasingly frenzied.
Even so, despite their youth, they fought with astonishing mastery in the art of battle. Their precise, error-free movements quickly reduced the number of vampires to less than 10.
At that point, their attacks became more frantic, and they even managed to strike the boss several times, damaging him from a distance.
It was surprising how intelligent these beasts were, but at the same time, how easily they could make mistakes.
Thanks to that, the battle slowly unfolded, and little by little, the victorious side was revealed to be the smaller one. Although Louis was covered in wounds all over, because he had had to attack head-on and not worry about his injuries, the boss was no better off than he was.
In fact, he was even worse off.
Until...
BAM*
A shot from Louis pierced the head of the last of the small vampires.
Then...
The boss moved toward them.
"IF I DIE, I WILL DIE WITH YOU!" Next to him, a wave of spirits moved to protect him.
Finally, a strange cube that had been behind the boss all this time floated in the air. It was just the cube they needed, but the boss's magic protected it.
But seeing it suddenly approach them made them both gasp in amazement.
"He plans to blow himself up with us!" They both shouted at the same time, trying to flee.
But the boss's speed was superior to theirs. In an instant, he caught up to them and opened his arms. The book in his hand floated in the air, then...
"BLOODY EXPLOSION!" He roared.
His body immediately swelled, turning him into an astonishingly potbellied man. The blood of the little vampires gathered around him and...
BOOM*
A bloody explosion covered the surroundings.
Louis pulled Laura toward him and tried to protect her, but they could only watch as the attack enveloped them instantly...
The bloody explosion had an astonishing attack radius, covering almost the entire room.
They couldn't escape.
Faced with such a powerful explosion, they could only watch as it engulfed them.
A minute later, the explosion was over.
The floor beneath had a huge hole in it, as did the walls.
There was still a piece of the floor left in the middle of the hole in the floor, where there were two figures and a head.
Louis and Laura looked at each other in shock. They were completely covered in blood, but they were alive.
"What the hell? We survived something like that?"
"Wasn't it that powerful? It even destroyed the floor and everything..."
Just then...
"Heh... damn you, heh, heh... you have over 100 stat points, but you're not even level 100... Bastard... Cheater..." The mouth of the head without a body spoke, with the hoarse voice of the ancient vampire.
Laura was stunned and looked at Louis.
'100 stat points?' She swallowed in surprise.
'God... he's as high as those guys,' he thought.
At that age, having that many points... was unreal.
Louis frowned, thoughtful. He didn't know how he had found out about it but smiled.
"In the end, you lost," he said.
"Heh, heh, heh..." The head laughed. "No. I didn't lose. Heh, heh, heh."
"How strange." Louis approached him and stepped on him. "I see you at my feet."
"Hahahaha, do you really think I'll lose to you, human?!"
Just then, Laura jumped back, landing on the edge before the hole, and looked at Louis in shock.
"Louis!"
Even he frowned.
That voice... had come from himself.
What the hell had just happened?
"Do you think that explosion was to kill you? No, I was just trying to implant my spirit in you. Hahahaha!"
"Go ahead, the only way to kill me is to shoot yourself! How about it?! Want to play a game?! There's a chance I'm like those wandering spirits over there, come on, shoot, nothing will happen to you! Aim at your brain and shoot yourself! Hahahaha!"
Although his mouth was moving, it wasn't him who was speaking. It was the spirit of that bastard.
That's why Louis frowned.
