God of Money: Reincarnated as the Weakest SSS Rank

Chapter 132: Robert Priestley

Louis shrugged and continued enjoying the fine food.

"But I have a question," said Mark.

Louis looked at him, as if to say he could go ahead.

"Where did you get so much money? Fifty billion Jens doesn't come from overnight. Your age doesn't match your wealth," he said.

Louis laughed softly, swallowed his food, wiped his lips with a napkin, and then replied.

"We Habsburgs are more surprising than you think, young Lord Neville," he said.

After that, he left.

Mark looked at him suspiciously from behind, but he had to agree with him on that.

'After all, they could rule practically the entire empire for many years. They must have their secrets,' he thought, immersing himself in the event again.

Meanwhile, Louis thought, 'How convenient that someone has manipulated history so much that I can use that surname as a cover for everything.'

To tell the truth, he was surprised. How had his uncle managed to manipulate history in such a way? The youngest son of the Lord of Habsburg?

He even deceived the Castles!

He should praise him for that feat. And to think that at first, he told him he didn't have much power in the family.

What would happen if he had all the power? Could he change the history of how the Empire was formed or something like that?

Well, putting that aside, he spent the rest of his time behind the scenes.

Later, on Louis' orders, more management positions were given to businessmen, and invitations were given to join the Houses, which would have a total investment of 50 billion.

Something that cost him 500 System Points and gave him five stat points... well, just for the expense. Luckily, he creates missions in bulk these days. And he created a mission specifically for that, which gave him the astonishing amount of 350 System Coins.

He practically recovered almost everything and gained 35 additional stat points (40 in total).

That's why he needed movement. He needed chaos. The problem is that he couldn't create that kind of mission all the time because they would kill him.

Taking out 50 billion was already a figure that would surely put him in the spotlight of the whole world (including the Castles), and if he took out 100 billion, he would have to answer to the king himself.

After all, even among the Castles, that amount was too much.

So the opening ceremony ended, with much publicity spreading throughout the district, including in the other districts, where Louis's paid advertising also appeared.

-

At the end, a figure was watching from across the street, atop a building. He was completely covered in rags. Not even his shoes were visible.

But he stared intently at the figures of Louis and Jessy, who were bidding farewell to everyone outside...

His eyes glowed with a hollow red light.

His body trembled slightly for a brief moment before he jumped out of the nearby field of vision.

-

Louis looked up, puzzled.

"What kind of look is that?" he thought, looking at the top of the building across the street. He had sensed something there, but that look felt strange.

Even so, he couldn't explain the feeling in his heart, so he sighed and shook his head helplessly. Maybe he had imagined it.

After seeing off the guests, the ceremony ended, and Louis and Jessy returned to the mansion.

The company will begin functioning properly starting tomorrow, and they already have a lot of work to do, as various businessmen have placed special orders.

So a busy week lay ahead.

-

"A student from the Academy, you say?" Robert Priestley stared at his daughter. "And you say you've bet with him before?"

"I met him in Velfast the day before the race that day. Do you remember there was a lot of talk about the Man in the Yellow Straw Hat?"

"I remember. Even I was curious to know who he was."

"Yes. Well, it's him. At that moment, he was being chased through the houses; they wanted to kill him. I don't know the reasons, but an executioner from Lockward was looking for him, too."

"An executioner?" Robert frowned. "Did you see him personally, or were they just rumors?"

"I came face-to-face with him. I even stopped him in his mission for a bit, to let that boy escape."

"Tsk, you always have so much guts that sometimes I think if you were born into the Lockwards, you'd be ruling the Empire." His father said, shaking his head.

"Even so, being chased by an executioner and still surviving, huh. He's an interesting boy. How old is he?"

"Sixteen, maybe? I don't remember if he told me, but he looks like a sixteen-year-old."

"Damn, isn't that rough? What is he, Aster Mane's son? Dominating the entire southern part of the Industrial District at 16 and still having so much money, but such good judgment not to do stupid things. He needs a good advisor to be able to make such good decisions! And he still has problems with the Lockwards, but he's still alive..." he said.

Rebecca smiled and shrugged. "Well, he's a Habsburg. Besides, from what I've heard, he's the son of Lord Habsburg himself. He inherited a lot from him."

"Well, I'm afraid he inherited and improved on that blood, because escaping from a Lockward in such circumstances is not so easy." He smiled. "How are his studies in magic? Is he good?"

"I don't know. Do you want me to look into it further? His teacher is Lord Hardrial. We could call him and ask."

"Oh, right. If he's an Armamentalist, he must be his student." Robert nodded. He was very curious, so he smiled.

"Well, forget about magic. I'll ask him myself. Tell me, how is your relationship with him? If the Nevilles intend to ally themselves with him to alert Aster Mane, then we could take advantage of that. Although the capital refuses to accept Neville as Castle, we in the city have already accepted it as one. With that leap, no one will be able to oppose us, so it's a good idea to form a strong alliance between us."

"Um..." Rebecca hesitated in her response. She didn't know what to say.

Was their relationship good? They used to joke around a lot. And he used to take liberties with her, something that didn't really bother her. But... Was that relationship good?

Honestly, she couldn't say.

People often wanted to take liberties with her, but she never let them. She let Louis only because she wanted to get close to him to win bets. Do they have a business relationship?

Although she didn't know if gambling was considered a business, but...

"Why are you hesitating? Don't you know what your relationship with him is like? You're usually quick to answer those questions. Do you like him?" Robert asked, curious, almost leaning over the table to ask her that question.

Unlike other parents, he wanted his little girl to find a boyfriend because he was concerned about her future. She loved to play too much and didn't interact much with people.

She graduated with honors from the Academy. She is a high-ranking magician, but sometimes she carries a sword.

Sometimes she bets amounts that even make him tremble, but she still has a good mind for business, negotiations, and family management.

She was a very... strange girl.

Would anyone really like her?

Well... her figure and physical beauty were top notch, but he didn't know if that alone would be enough for them to choose her. Leaving aside the fact that the last guy who tried was rejected outright and then gave up when he saw her personality, would someone come along who would love her just the way she was?

If he did, he would really like to meet him and have a few drinks with him. If he agreed to be part of the Priestleys, he would even call him son-in-law.

After hearing what her father said, she snorted. "Ah? No way. He hates my name and spends all his time criticizing it, as well as joking around a lot," she complained.

She was proud of her name.

Rebecca.

The name of a great woman. Her mother loved it. How could anyone not like it? Just her name alone commanded respect.

Robert raised an eyebrow, puzzled. "That sounds more suspicious than if you hadn't answered, you know?"

Rebecca shrugged. "Well, I think I get along with him. There's nothing wrong with his personality, and he likes to joke around with me, even in front of his friends, so I don't think we don't get along."

Although Robert found this suspicious and decided to try to get to know this boy, he smiled on the outside.

"All right. Then I hope you can befriend him. The Nevilles have a plan, and so do we. If that boy can bridge the Noble-Banker relationships, he'll be a good match, not only for you, but to become the next Aster Mane."

Rebecca nodded. She believed it, too.

"Then I'll go see his fights in the Tournament. I heard they're going to allow betting. Are you going?"

Robert smiled. "Of course I am. I haven't bet big in a while, so I hope the fights are good."

"Good. Then I'll try to introduce you to him that day," she said, but suddenly remembered something. "Right, I saw something today. A woman with albinism, about 20 years old, was standing next to Louis. I have a feeling I know her from somewhere. Do you know anything about her?"
