God of Destruction: Living Among Mortals

Chapter 47: F-rank Dungeon: Part III

I can feel it, he thought as the wolf looked cartoonish, coming to him at such a slow speed. I can feel the mana, the energy, and the Circle of Pillars stirring inside me. I guess I should be listening to my inner self more often.

Then, in the blink of an eye, as Nova sidestepped, the wolf went back to his original speed, crashing into the ground. Its snout was aching from the impact. It looked more aggressively towards Nova, irate and condescending, filling every tear in its eye.

The wolf lunged again, its claws arching downward, but Nova feinted to the left, faster than the wolf, punching the wolf in its flank as hard as possible, hearing the very bone of it crack, fracturing it into ashes.

The other wolf took the opportunity to sneak up behind him, as the first wolf lay sprawled on the ground, unable to move. Blood was gushing out everywhere, internal and external bleeding taking over the wolf, and in just a matter of seconds, it dissolved, becoming one with nature.

The other lunged at Nova's back, who was filled with pride of killing one wolf, and he had forgotten about the other one. The wolf claws at his back as ferociously as it could, to seek revenge for its brother.

It howled tumultuously, then devilishly growled at Nova, launching another slash. Nova's eyes widened as the bone reached deeper within his skin, touching the bone slightly.

Nova screamed in anger like a rabid dog, shaking himself violently, as blood dripped like a waterfall from his back.

The wolf didn't give up; it launched another downward slash, but this time gripping Nova's skin as hard as possible, then slashing down with its claws.

On the other hand, Adam was having an even tougher time. The one-eyed wolf, that he had blinded from one eye, lunged at him, snapping at his face, as Adam tried to defend himself from the bite, which would rip him to shreds.

In a matter of urgency, he used his claws to slash at the wolf's hide. Blood was spraying at him, as if he was dying his T-shirt. He pushed the wolf off, as the other one decided to join in. It left Adam's legs, pinning his upper body instead, and not making the same mistake as its partner, as he became more cautious.

The other wolf barely managed to get up, as the wolf on top of Adam also snapped at him, biting his forearm, making him suffer for an extended period of time, before unclenching its teeth to slash at his face.

"No-Nova..." Adam was barely able to speak as he called out for him.

Nova heard the call, seeing how Adam's ability faded away as the wolves laughed at his nearly lifeless body.

Nova got another boost of adrenaline and dopamine as he grabbed the wolf from his back, feeling the skin, the tissue, the muscle in his back ripping apart, as he ripped apart the wolf from his back, slamming it like a pro wrestler on the ground.

Then, he mimicked the wolf's movement, using his fingers as claws, and was somehow able to cut straight through to the wolf's heart. The wolf died on the spot, blood trickling down from its ears, mouth, eyes, and snout.

Nova caught a glimpse of the alpha, who had transferred his grin and laughter to Nova, who just stared him down condescendingly. He turned back to the other wolf, who was still on top of Adam, rushing at it with his full speed.

The wolf looked at him, then went throttle at Nova, as claws and bite, meet the utter and bloodied fist of an unbreakable guy, who was just enjoying himself. The claws slashed down on his chest, and the punch embedded straight in its snout, cracking the bone.

Nova's chest singed, but he laughed manically, scaring the wolves, including the alpha, who was taken aback. The alpha gulped as he thought it was fighting a madman, who just didn't know when to give up.

Both the wolf and Nova turned back at the time, glaring at each other. As they lunged again, claws meeting fist. But Nova turned to the side, as the claws missed, the fist connected, delivering another deadly blow to the wolf's face.

The wolf went down, as only one wolf remained. In a matter of a second, Nova was behind that wolf, his eyes disappearing as only the sclera remained. He was temporarily out of it, but still managed to remain somewhat conscious.

He punched the wolf down, killing it then and there, then woke up, as his iris and pupil returned. He went down on my knee as all the damage he had accumulated thus far was gnawing at him at the same time.

He lifted himself, body spreading wildly, as if to ease the pain. But it made him look further like a maniac. A man with no restrictions. Nova then turned his head to face the wolf, tilted his head on the side, chuckling at him with a devilish grin that would even make the devil quiver.

The alpha stepped forward, breathing angrily as hot clouds sprouted from its nose. It was burning, not singeing, but truly burning. Hot vapor started to emit from its body, readying itself for the final battle.

Nova coughed as he tasted iron on the tip of his tongue, his body internally screaming at him to falter. Every muscle burned, every cut on his skin throbbed, but he didn't give up.

Oh, he was far from being finished.

He straightened slowly, his chest rising, eyes locked on the alpha as if they were the only two things in the universe.

His grin wasn't just madness anymore; it had ascended to the raw human nature of defiance. The thought of Adam, broken and calling his name, kept him standing when his knees wanted to collapse.

"Not yet," he muttered under his breath, more to himself than the beast.

The alpha snarled at him, pacing in slow circles, its heat bending the air around them. Nova wiped the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand, then raised his fists again. Ready for round two.
