Just as the words left his mouth, the sky cracked.

"You shouldn't have awakened her, Jemil."
Flare stood, flames igniting in her palms. "Who's this skull-wearing idiot?"
Kaelira summoned a dozen floating cards glowing with chaos energy. "He has 'boss fight' energy."
The stranger pointed his spear.
"I am the Herald. Sent by the Council of Forgotten Realms. Your little collection of wives has broken the divine contract."
"Return the Abyss Empress, or your Homeworld dies."

Jemil stepped forward. "You've got one mistake."

The Herald reeled back, eyes narrowing.

The Herald hovered midair, bleeding from his eyes. But he wasn't done.

Flare crossed her arms. "So instead of marrying us… he made us?"
"I'm sorry," Jemil said. "I didn't know."
Nyxalithe touched his cheek.

The Herald dissolved into mist, retreating through the cracked sky.

"You'll become a god of gods."
The sky stitched itself shut behind him.
Silence fell.
