Chapter 776: Survivor's Exchange
"Heh~ Body odor, huh…" Raze wryly smiled after seeing the Body Odor Control skill. Although they do not have to worry about their hygiene because they have supplies of soap and others, they might just be telling anything about body odor…
'Should I?' Raze thought to herself as she wasn't sure how she smelled to others. Although Roan was not complaining, it might be because she was his master.
Raze leaned one elbow casually against the glowing terminal, scrolling through the bizarre listings…
Still, after a few more moments, she returned to that Body Odor Control Skill.
It wasn't exactly a combat skill, but she couldn't deny its usefulness. In a world where you sometimes went weeks without proper showers, one well-timed skill could be worth more than an enchanted blade.
Her eyes flicked toward the side panel. 60,000 Points… or a Tier-5 Alchemy Robe Set.
"Robes for deodorant. The apocalypse really changes people," she chuckled.
She then noticed that there were others selling Body Odor Control Skill as well, but they were asking for a ridiculous trade…
"They want a Legendary Weapon for this? Dream on…"
Raze muttered as she decided to take the first one with an acceptable trading offer.
"Fine… Take my 60,000 points."
Survivor Skill Scrolls weren't easy to obtain after all.
After confirming the purchase, it appeared in front of her terminal. Just like that, she stored it inside her inventory as she decided to learn it later on.
Scrolling further, she found something that actually caught her attention.
[ Skill Scroll: Ghost Hand — Seller requests: 50,000 Points and 2,000 Zombie Cores. ]
A utility skill. Able to manipulate objects up to 5 meters away with spectral force.
Raze gently nodded as she knew how good this Skill was…
"Now that's useful. But this is a bit too expensive for that."
However, she must admit that she needed this skill when riding Roan. After all, it wasn't easy riding a Dragon, and having a "spare" hand could certainly help her with any battle while mounted.
She tapped the listing, locked in her offer, and confirmed the trade.
A moment later, the scroll materialized on her exchange platform just like what had happened moments ago. She then stored it in her Inventory as she smiled with satisfaction.
Another listing blinked as she scrolled—
[ Bag of Holding Potion ( Medium Size ) — Seller requests: 200,000 Points or equivalent rare crafting material. ]
Her eyes widened slightly.
'Oh-hoh. Now that's a treasure.'
Taking Potions out of Inventory takes about 10 seconds or so. Since you have to open the inventory, search for the item, select it to take out, and materialize it.
However, with the bag that could carry potions, they would certainly save a lot of time, especially if it was in a dangerous situation.
Medium meant about the size of a carriage's worth of storage, easily enough to stash Potions without worrying about space.
Without hesitation, she offered a mix of Points and leftover crafting metals she'd been carrying around. She wasn't sure when it would be accepted, but once it did, it would be directly transferred to her inventory instead.
Just then, the booth next to hers was activated. Another hooded figure stepped up, activating the terminal. They didn't glance at her, but Raze recognized the stance instantly.
"…Tessa," she murmured.
The hood tilted, then a quiet laugh escaped.
"You noticed. Figures. How is it?"
Despite both of them being wrapped in concealing armor, the recognition between friends was immediate.
"They have interesting items… You should take your time… But what're you shopping for? Do you have something in mind?" Raze asked, eyes sliding back to her screen.
"Something cheap… I need a cheap weapon with a lot of potential. I want to be the one upgrading it to Legendary Grade," Tessa replied. "I don't have a lot of Points left with me. What about you?"
"Oh, just bought myself a Bag of Holding Potions and a few Skill Scrolls." Raze's tone was deliberately casual, but she knew Tessa would hear the smugness in her voice.
"…Show-off."
Raze smirked… "Better than blowing your Points on overpriced knives."
"Hey, don't knock knives. They don't run out of ammo," Tessa countered as she tapped through the Weapon listings.
They bantered comfortably while browsing through the items…
Raze then noticed the odd scroll again. It had a higher trading offer but Tessa might still have enough to take it.
She then leaned slightly toward her friend and spoke softly.
"By the way… there's a Skill Scroll here. Very rare. Body Odor Control."
Tessa froze. "You're joking."
"Nope. Eighty thousand Points plus 2 Epic Grade Weapons."
"…That's robbery."
"Think about it though," Raze muttered as she tried to explain why it was important.
"You're always crawling through sewers, running in leather armor, dripping sweat. Imagine—one cast. Boom. Fresh as daisies. Men will fall in love. Zombies will… uh, probably still eat you, but they'll enjoy the scent."
"Pfftt~" Tessa couldn't help but chuckle, but it was certainly a good Skill for a woman who cared a lot about scent.
Tessa took a deep breath to calm down and considered it for a moment.
"…You're insufferable."
Raze chuckled, tapping the listing again just to torment her. "Should I buy it for you? Consider it a gift. I'll even write, To Tessa, may your enemies die before your stench does."
Tessa groaned. "Do you want me to kill you?"
"Sure, but you'll smell great when you do."
Just like that, both women burst into laughter…
Other Survivors shot them odd looks, but neither cared.
"Anyway," Tessa muttered after catching her breath, "don't waste your Points on stupid scrolls. What else is on your list?"
"Depends," Raze replied smoothly. "What's on yours? Maybe we pool resources, make smarter buys."
The two of them leaned in toward their terminals as they debated which strange treasures were worth buying and which were scams. They certainly won't be leaving this Survivor's Exchange Hall anytime soon.
