Glitched Goddess: My Skills are maxed out

Chapter 160: Ch 159: Distraction - Part 6

"Tsk, look at you. You're all messy because of Lysera playing around with you. Let's get you cleaned up. Then, we can have some breakfast and start out day, alright?"

Irielle asked but Kana was not listening to her. Her body felt heavy and light at the same time and she felt like she needed to go to sleep.

However, Irielle did not allow her this as she asked Lysera to pick Kana up and take her to the bathroom.

____

'I feel so tired. I just want to go to sleep. Can I lose my eyes and lose myself in the soft sunlight now?'

Kana closed her eyes and allowed her body to relax.

The morning sunlight filtered softly through the curtains, bathing the room in a gentle glow. Kana sat slouched on a small stool near the washbasin, her eyelids drooping as steam rose from the warm water.

Lysera knelt beside her, carefully rinsing Kana's hair, while Irielle stood nearby, rolling up her sleeves with an impatient huff.

"You're going to fall asleep sitting up like that."

Irielle muttered, reaching over to splash a bit of water onto Kana's cheek.

'Bastard! As if it's not your fault I'm in this condition.'

Kana's head jerked slightly, but before she could respond, her body swayed to the side — almost slipping straight into the basin.

"Kana!"

In an instant, both Lysera and Irielle caught her, one hand each grabbing her shoulders to steady her. Lysera sighed, her voice unusually soft.

"Stay awake for just a little longer… we're almost done."

'Easy for you to say. Your body doesn't feel like it's breaking apart because someone went a little too hard.'

Kana ignored the part of her that reminded her that this was her fault as well. She wanted that sex as much as the other two were willing to give it.

After what felt like an eternity for Kana, they finally finished washing her and dressed her in fresh clothes.

Irielle disappeared for a moment and returned with a tray, placing it gently in front of Kana. Warm bread, sliced fruit, and a small bowl of porridge filled the air with a sweet, comforting aroma.

Kana picked up her spoon, but her movements were sluggish, her chin dipping forward as if the food itself were trying to lull her to sleep. Lysera nudged her lightly.

"Eat before you fall face-first into it."

Somehow, Kana managed to finish her breakfast without drowning in the porridge, earning a faint smile from Irielle and a relieved sigh from Lysera.

Once they cleared the dishes, Irielle tilted her head.

"So, what do you want to do today?"

Kana rubbed at her heavy eyelids and murmured.

"…Sleep."

"Do you want us to stay with you?"

Lysera asked, exchanging a glance with Irielle.

Kana shook her head, offering a small, tired smile.

"I'll be fine. You two should go out and enjoy yourselves."

Though reluctant, they eventually agreed and stepped out.

As soon as the door closed behind them, Kana let out a deep sigh of relief, sinking into her bed at last.

The quiet washed over her like a wave, and for the first time that morning… she could finally relax.

"Finally, they're gone. I had a feeling that if they decided to stay, then we would have just repeated what happened last night. And as much as I would like to do that, I don't think my body is in any condition to do that anytime soon."

Kana complained as she tried to relax.

Sleep claimed her more than once, but her mind kept her awake. Lying on her back was not helping her much.

Kana sat cross-legged on the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. The silence in the hotel room pressed against her ears, making her restless.

With a soft groan, she rolled over and scanned the room for something — anything — to keep herself occupied.

Her gaze landed on the small wooden shelf near the window, stacked neatly with a few books.

Curious, she slid off the bed and wandered over, running her fingers along the spines until one particular title caught her eye.

"…Huh?"

It was the same wolf story she had back at home — the one about Rimeru.

Kana hesitated, slowly pulling the book out. The cover was identical, down to the worn edges and faint scratches, as if it had been sitting on her own shelf all along.

"…Is this… a really popular story? Even this hotel has a copy in our room."

She murmured, flipping it open to skim the first few pages. The words were exactly the same.

A strange unease settled in her chest. Something about it felt… off. Too coincidental. Too deliberate.

She frowned, snapping the book shut.

"Nope. Not today."

Sliding the book back into its place, Kana stepped away from the shelf, brushing off the chill creeping up her spine.

Whatever the reason, she didn't want to think about it anymore.

Moving toward the window, she pushed the curtains aside and glanced outside. The streets below were lively, filled with vendors, carriages, and people bustling about their day.

A faint breeze drifted in, carrying the smell of fresh bread from somewhere nearby.

Kana exhaled softly, shaking her head. Staying cooped up in this quiet room was only making her thoughts spiral.

"…Fresh air. That's what I need."

She muttered to herself, nodding firmly.

Grabbing her cloak from the chair, she draped it over her shoulders and headed for the door.

The weight in her chest lingered faintly, but as soon as she stepped out into the warm afternoon light, the lively sounds of the town washed over her, grounding her in the present.

Without looking back at the shelf, Kana walked away, hoping a little fresh air would clear her head.

"It'll be a quick walk. I will just go out for 10 minutes, walk around the hotel and be done with it. Surely nothing will happen in that much time, right? I mean, what are the odds?"

Kana laughed to make herself feel less nervous. But somehow, each step only unnerved her even more.
