Girl Hero: Revenge on Goblins!

Chapter 809: Chapter D290: A Sky Full of Stars (Part 3)

In the next instant, grand radiance bloomed from the young girl, her heavy ceremonial attire fluttering up in a breeze of Magic Power.

The ritual gown, ranked among the world's class, had countless Magic Arrays engraved upon it, all of which simultaneously activated, collecting and interweaving the overflowing light, finally forming a cocoon-shaped light sphere that enveloped the girl within.

Meanwhile, the Holy Grail that was drained in one gulp floated up gently before the light cocoon fully formed, and then disappeared into the void beneath the monument.

"Drank it all?" asked the Liberation Saintess beside.

Perceiving the situation of the Holy Grail, the old Pope exchanged a glance with her, not replying but nodding slightly.

Upon hearing this, the Liberation Saintess seemed unsurprised, yet through the exchange of glances with the Pope, they detected a thread of regret amidst their mutual joy.

"Even the Heavenly Full Holy Grail we've prepared for so long couldn't fill her Abyss..." the Liberation Saintess sighed softly.

Having once been a Saintess, she naturally had memories of undergoing the same ritual, but back then, she hadn't managed to drink the cup dry.

This wasn't due to a small appetite; the Heavenly Full Holy Grail is indeed mysterious, but its function in the ritual isn't as miraculous as folk wisdom suggests.

To replenish flaws, evoke potential, pave new paths—these are the effects that a cup granted by destinyDestiny can offer.

To completely use up the Magic Power liquid in the cup, either implies flaws as vast as an abyss or potential beyond imagination.

The history records of Saintesses able to have drunk the Holy Grail dry are rare.

Awakening as a Magician requires more substantial Magic Power than other Professions; despite the Church providing the highest specifications for the ritual, it still couldn't entirely satisfy the Hero.

"Since we've made up our mind, all we need is to try our best, whether she or us, it's the same."

The cocoon of light enveloping the Hero had fully formed; watching this scene, the Pope murmured quietly.

He then lifted his scepter lightly, and with the Silent command issued, the sound of thousands of steel boots hitting the ground simultaneously arose around the square. Fully armed Holy Paladins bearing Sharp Swords and shields entered the square's center and dispersed at equal distances forming an iron wall barrier around the monument.

Numerous Magic Powers merged seamlessly into one through the Holy Paladins' unified actions, like a phantom fortress safeguarding the slumbering Saintess within.

And the rest of the Church's higher-ups dispersed as well, returning to their quarters for rest. The Church's operations still required their work, and their task was to welcome the arrival of the new Saintess at their posts.

Unaware that the entire Holy City, the entire Church, even the Kingdom were trembling because of her slumber, the Hero in profound awakening opened her eyes—

In a Star-spangled abyss, the Hero in serene expression descended slowly, seemingly oblivious.

Under the starlight, her long eyelashes trembled slightly, she subconsciously licked her lips.

Then, within the abyss, a pair of Emerald Stars lit up.

'Hmm, the taste of my own blood is peculiar.'

It seems she doesn't possess the talent of a vampire metamorphosis.

Savoring the slightly sweet taste that, while not unpleasant, didn't incite a craving for another sip, the Hero opened her eyes, accustomed to the scenery before her.

After drinking the Holy Grail Blood, her consciousness detached from the outside world, sinking into the depths within herself.

There was No More heavy gown on her body here; there is only and solely what belongs to her.

Even though she, as an Innate Sorcerer, had hardly any association with the Warlock Association, she was not unfamiliar with the scene and had some understanding.

Here lies the conceptual road connecting life and the world, and it's the inevitable path for a Magician in their Profession journey.

The soul and self are the ascending entities, whereas the countless points of light ahead are fragments of her past self.

They have ascended from the distant past, arriving at where she is now, coalescing into a soul possessing an identity.

Then this soul will continue floating, until one day it returns to stardust with the deceased flesh, transforming again into part of someone far in the future.

This is the most crucial concept of the Magician Profession, known as the abyss of self.

Man is also part of the world, thus everything in the world exists within the abyss.

The task of a Magician is to briefly Resist the buoyancy of the soul, reverse it and delve into the abyss, where they touch and awaken those slumbering pasts, reclaim forces once theirs.

And Magicians further proclaim that by reaching the deepest part of the abyss, one could comprehend their own origins and even glimpse the ultimate origin of the world.

Though the Hero never truly studied Magician knowledge, due to unexpected circumstances, apart from the first transformation ceremony, she underwent the second and now third as a Magician.

It's well-known that Mage and Magician are both Spellcasters Professions, yet their philosophies differ vastly, the two don't quite feud like fire and water, but have numerous clashes as well.

In the Mage Association, a long-standing joke goes:

'A distinguished Mage will surely join the Mage Association because there lie the most Wise Men and profound knowledge;

But an outstanding Magician might very well have no connection with the Warlock Association, for even they can barely understand their own mysteries, let alone control destinyDestiny's favor.'

Despite the many biases against Magicians in this joke, it isn't entirely unfounded; there's reasons behind it.

Humans cannot choose their birth, even with reincarnation Magic, they can't control the composition of their inner abyss.

The Warlock Association has studied numerous rituals attempting to influence their own abyss to adjust the awakening probability, but many of these efforts often fell short compared to one pure stroke of luck.

But now, in front of the Hero, golden-red Radiance streamed in from all directions, forming a passage straight to the depths of the abyss, as if inviting her deeper within.

Many dim-lit Stars were repelled by this golden-red Radiance, unable to approach the Hero shrouded within.

'Is this the power of the Holy Grail...'

The Hero came to a realization, she plunged into it without hesitation.

The intense buoyancy within the abyss was isolated by the light barrier, and she plunged rapidly as if she'd fallen.

However, the high speed didn't persist long; shortly after bypassing the brief time since birth, a massive—Star suddenly blocked ahead, truncating the Holy Grail's light path, into which the Hero dove headfirst.
