Chapter 211: The Evil Nature of Humans (First Update)_1
Chu Hao glanced at them and said, "You two are really something, daring to mess with this kind of thing."
Long Yuan and Du Yuezhen, shivering all over, pleaded desperately, "Master, please save us. We wouldn't have helped if our ancestors didn't owe the Luo Family."
Chu Hao said with a chuckle, "Save you with what? The incomplete Sun-Draining Ghost Formation you just set up didn't work and instead angered that thing. The one it most wants to devour is probably you two."
Long Yuan and Du Yuezhen were in utter despair.
Master Kong hurriedly came forward. Seeing that Long Yuan and Du Yuezhen knew Chu Hao, he felt a surge of joy and said, "Young man, quickly take out the True Word Brush and deal with the monster up there."
Chu Hao outright refused, "Sorry, why do I have any obligation to help you? Who do you think you are?"
Master Kong's face became unpleasant.
Yesterday, he shamelessly demanded I return the True Word Brush. Would I help him? What a joke.
Master Kong became frantic, his expression turning ferocious. "If you don't help us, you'll die too!"
Still trying to threaten me at a time like this? Am I supposed to tolerate you?
Chu Hao kicked him, sending him rolling away like a football.
Master Kong said incredulously, "You kicked me?"
Chu Hao cursed, "Scram! You two, throw him out as well. Just looking at him is annoying. Maybe if I'm in a good mood, I'll save your lives."
"DING… Host has successfully shown off, gaining 200 Pretentiousness Points."
Upon hearing this, Long Yuan and Du Yuezhen were overjoyed. They stared at Master Kong with hostility, saying, "Sorry, Old Kong. You should sacrifice yourself for us. After all, you're alone anyway."
"What are you doing? What are you doing?"
Master Kong was panic-stricken as he was dragged out by the two old men.
In an instant, the Eight-Headed Ghost Mantis focused on Master Kong. Its favorite prey was cultivators of Daoist arts. He screamed in terror and turned to run. As a result, he was torn to bits, flesh and blood scattering everywhere.
With Master Kong dead, Old Master Luo completely despaired, his last hope resting on Chu Hao.
Old Master Luo said in a panic, "Master Chu, save us!"
Previously, they had looked down on Chu Hao and even spoken harsh words, intending to discipline him. But now, these same people grasped at him as if he were their last lifeline.
"Master Chu, save me, please!"
"Young man, save me! I'll give you anything you want."
This group of people, terrified to the extreme, continually pressed towards Chu Hao as if merely getting close to him meant survival.
Chu Hao crossed his arms and said indifferently, "Old Master Luo, do you remember what I said yesterday?"
Old Master Luo's face showed terror. Chu Hao had said that the Luos were already as good as dead, and there was no need to hold a grudge against the deceased.
Chu Hao said coldly, "An injustice has its perpetrator, and a debt its owner. As for the creature your Luo Family raised, it would be letting you off easy if it only killed your entire family."
The people around them were immediately shocked upon hearing this, especially the Luo Family Descendants.
"What? This thing was actually raised by the Luo Family?"
"Damn it! Do we all have to die because of the Luo Family?"
Many were outraged. They valued their own lives far more than the Luo Family's authority.
Old Master Luo said hastily, "Master Chu, please help me! My Luo Family will give you anything you want."
Chu Hao sneered, "I'm sorry, but this Taoist Master doesn't associate with people who steal others' longevity. For someone like you, even if Yama were to torture you for a thousand years, it would still be too light a punishment."
Old Master Luo trembled in fear.
Many people were confused, not understanding what was happening.
Chu Hao swept his gaze around, sneering, "A bunch of idiots! You've been sold out and you're still counting money for the ones who sold you. Just now, each of you lost almost a year of your lifespan."
The crowd was shocked.
Old Master Luo's face turned extremely ugly. Chu Hao knows all about it! But how did he find out?
Chu Hao looked at him with disdain. "That crappy Sun-Draining Ghost Formation of yours? I've been playing with that kind of stuff since I was three. Did you really expect your Luo Family to find competent people? You actually thought these half-wits could suppress the thing beneath?"
Long Yuan and Du Yuezhen felt very embarrassed. They were considered somewhat prominent figures in the paranormal circle, but compared to Chu Hao, they were indeed half-baked.
Long Yuan hastily said, "Master Chu is right. If our ancestors hadn't owed the Luo Family, we wouldn't have come to this godforsaken place."
Du Yuezhen also said, "The Luo Family's ancestors possessed great abilities, but to this day, not a single descendant who knows Daoist arts remains. Sooner or later, the family will perish."
Old Master Luo turned deathly pale.
After hearing the full story, many people suddenly understood what was going on. So, the so-called 'Worship your Ancestors' was just a ritual to absorb our lifespan?
Another scream rang out as someone else was pulled into the sky.
Everyone went mad, their eyes bloodshot as they glared at the Luo Family Descendants.
"Everyone, throw the Luos out! Perhaps then we can survive!" a burly middle-aged man said viciously. This man was one of the local underworld bosses, already no stranger to brutality and violence.
The Luo Family Descendants turned pale with fear. Luo Ming shouted, "Bodyguards! Bodyguards!"
At this moment, the Luo Family's bodyguards all looked indifferent. This whole mess was caused by your family. How could we possibly survive if you don't die?
Everyone wanted to survive, especially since the Luo Family had brought this dire situation upon themselves.
The Luos were in utter despair. Their last hope was gone.
The middle-aged man was ferocious. Seeing no one else making a move, he took matters into his own hands.
He grabbed Luo Ming by the hair, his voice chilling, "Luo Family, this is the consequence of your own actions! If you don't die, it'll be hard for the rest of us to live."
A member of the Luo Family tried to help, but he was immediately surrounded by people who watched him coldly.
"What are you doing? We are the Luo Family! Don't you care about your futures anymore?" some of the Luos cried out.
"AH! Let go of me!"
Luo Ming struggled in pain as his hair was pulled, but he didn't dare go out.
The middle-aged man then pulled out a gun, pointing it at Luo Ming. "Run! If you don't run, I'll kill you right now!"
Luo Ming was aghast, staring at the dark muzzle of the gun.
"One... two... three..."
"BANG!"
The middle-aged man actually fired the gun, causing everyone to scream in terror. The bullet hit Luo Ming's arm, and he cried out in pain.
The middle-aged man licked his lips. "Are you going to run or not? The next shot will be to your head."
Luo Ming trembled all over, his face a mask of utter terror. "I... my legs are weak... I... I can't run..."
The middle-aged man shouted furiously, "Useless trash!"
Another gunshot rang out, hitting Luo Ming's thigh.
"AAAHHH!! It hurts! It's killing me!" Luo Ming screamed in agony, drenched in sweat.
At this point, people were on the verge of madness, their cruelest natures laid bare.
The burly man held the gun, pointing it at the rest of the Luo Family members. They screamed in terror, scrambling back.
The man then set his sights on Luo Yan, sneering, "You're next. I've pursued you for so long, and you wouldn't even give me a second glance."
With that, he lunged forward to grab Luo Yan.
