Chapter 185: How are you so awesome?_1
Liang Qian thought for a moment, her large eyes curving into crescent moons. This is the perfect opportunity to snatch the Taoist Treasure while he's bathing and then run, she schemed.
"Okay."
She maneuvered Chu Hao into the bathroom. The guy was dazed, leaning heavily on her shoulder—dead weight, indeed.
Honestly, he made her break out in a sweat, and she herself was burning up. The hotter it got, the more the alcohol went to her head, and she felt dizzy too.
Finally, the crucial moment had arrived. Liang Qian said, "I'll help you undress."
Chu Hao shamelessly replied, "Sister, help me bathe, and you bathe too."
Liang Qian blushed. "I... I think I'll skip bathing."
How could Chu Hao let her off the hook now? This is perfect for a 'mandarin duck bath,' isn't it?
Chu Hao put on a stern face. "If you don't bathe, I won't either."
Damn it! For the sake of the Taoist Treasure, I'll risk it all! Liang Qian resolved.
"Fine, fine, you first."
"No, you first."
Why is this kid so demanding? Liang Qian thought. Just wait until I get the Taoist Treasure; I won't care who you are then!
Liang Qian smiled faintly. "Aren't you hot? Let Sister Qian help you."
"Good, good."
Haha... the chance has finally come! The Taoist Treasure will be mine! Liang Qian thought as she grabbed Chu Hao.
But in an instant, she was dumbfounded. Where's the True Word Brush? Where's the Taoist Treasure? Damn it, what the hell is this thing?!
Liang Qian immediately freaked out. Where on earth did this guy hide the True Word Brush? It wasn't in his pants where I expected!
What infuriated her the most was that she had actually mistaken that thing in his pants for the Taoist Treasure.
Heavens! How could I have been so foolish?
Chu Hao figured Liang Qian should be making her next move by now. Haha... time to say goodbye to my integrity!
Just then, Liang Qian stood up with a gloomy face, clutching her clothes, and walked out of the bathroom.
Hey... what's going on? Chu Hao wondered.
Chu Hao hurriedly asked, "Sister, what are you doing?"
If it weren't for her last shred of reason, Liang Qian would have chopped Chu Hao to pieces. Her face was dark and unsightly.
After thinking it over, she realized something as important as the True Word Brush couldn't possibly be carried on his person. I've been so foolish.
"I have something else to do."
Damn it! Chu Hao fumed internally. I went to such shameless lengths, and you're just going to walk away? That's not right. This definitely isn't right! Don't I have any appeal? Or did she get scared after seeing my 'Taoist Treasure'?
Liang Qian had already left the bathroom and was sitting on the edge of the bed, deep in thought, feeling incredibly foolish.
However, this isn't over, Liang Qian thought. He probably doesn't know my identity. Perhaps I can use this to slowly get close to him and find out where he keeps the True Word Brush.
Chu Hao walked out of the bathroom dejectedly. Seeing Liang Qian hadn't left, he asked in confusion, "Sister Qian, what's wrong?"
Liang Qian forced a smile. "Nothing... I just don't feel well."
"Where do you not feel well?"
Liang Qian quickly replied, "My... my stomach hurts."
Seriously? Chu Hao thought. Aunt Flo is visiting? Damn it, why do women have to have periods? It always ruins my good times!
"Oh." Chu Hao plopped down on the bed sullenly, not saying a word.
Liang Qian didn't want the atmosphere to remain so awkward. Perhaps I can use this chance to ask about the True Word Brush's whereabouts, she thought.
"Chu Hao," Liang Qian began, "Ke Ke's dad said you can catch ghosts?"
Chu Hao lay sprawled on the bed, still burning with desire. And you want to talk to me about catching ghosts right now? Are you serious?
"Yeah, a bit," he replied.
Liang Qian feigned curiosity. "So, what do you usually use to catch ghosts?"
"That's just how I catch them," he said nonchalantly.
Liang Qian felt helpless. It seemed Chu Hao was completely sober now. This won't do... I have to get him drunk again, she schemed.
She asked, "So, are we still drinking?"
Chu Hao was quite upset by now. "No more drinking. I'm going home."
What should I do? Liang Qian panicked. If he goes back now, this great opportunity will be wasted. Then Yao Hu will definitely make a move on him, and it will be impossible for me to get the True Word Brush for myself!
"Don't!" Liang Qian blurted out instinctively.
Seriously, lady? Chu Hao thought, annoyed. Can't I even go home? What are you trying to pull?
Chu Hao stared at Liang Qian. A flicker of panic crossed her face. Has he figured something out? she wondered.
Chu Hao said with a meaningful tone, "Sister Qian, I think there's got to be a reason why you can't find a man."
Liang Qian blinked, puzzled. "Why?"
Chu Hao gave a wry smile and pointed to his crotch. "Who could possibly stand being played like this by you?"
Liang Qian's face flushed. This little rascal! she cursed inwardly, knowing full well what he was implying. Yet, her mind remained entirely focused on the True Word Brush.
Looks like I need to change tactics. If I can't even handle you, then I'm not fit to be one of the Twelve Protectors of the Nether Cult! she resolved.
"How about this! Sister Qian will help you," Liang Qian offered, a new glint in her eye.
Chu Hao's heart skipped a beat. "How will you help?"
"I'll watch a movie with you," Liang Qian said after a moment's thought, her expression serious.
"What kind of movie?"
"You know... *that* kind."
Are you sure you're trying to help me and not just make me die of frustration? Chu Hao thought.
Chu Hao shook his head. "No thanks, I'm going back."
Liang Qian grew anxious. "Wait! How about we drink some more? When I drink a lot, my stomach doesn't hurt anymore!"
What the—?! Chu Hao was stunned. That's a surprisingly deep statement! Are you saying that if you get drunk, even period pains don't bother you? HOLY CRAP! How can you be so badass? But I like it!
"Alright then! Let's drink a little more. It's still early to go back anyway," Chu Hao readily agreed.
Liang Qian sneered inwardly. Let's see if I can get you drunk again and make you spill the beans about the True Word Brush's location!
So, the two of them started drinking again, trading cup for cup.
Liang Qian suddenly realized this kid could really hold his liquor. No matter how much they drank, he didn't seem to get drunk at all.
Liang Qian, however, had drunk far too much and was completely wasted. She mumbled, "Chu Hao... that True Word Brush you use to catch ghosts... where is it?"
Chu Hao was visibly stunned. How does she know about the True Word Brush?
"Sister Qian, what are you talking about?" Chu Hao asked, feigning confusion.
Liang Qian, utterly dizzy from the alcohol, was completely unaware of what she was saying. Perhaps this was, as they say, 'in vino veritas'—truth revealed by wine.
Her face was flushed crimson, complementing her wine-red hair, giving her an alluring look. "You... you're still pretending," she slurred. "The True Word Brush... the one you used against Dong Qi... why aren't you carrying it anymore?"
"Sister Qian, you've had too much to drink, haven't you?" Chu Hao probed after a moment's thought.
Liang Qian waved her hand dismissively. "I'm not drunk! This little bit of alcohol is nothing!"
"Oh?" Chu Hao pressed on. "Then how do you know I have the True Word Brush?"
Liang Qian clutched her chest, let out a small burp, her face beet-red. "I... of course, I know! I'm the Ghost Princess! There's nothing the Ghost Princess doesn't know!"
Ghost Princess!
