Chapter 294: Sleeping? [2]
Florence lay warmly across him and her body molded to his as if she belonged there.
The steady rise and fall of her chest against his chest made every breath a little heavier.
Her fingers traced along the lines on his chest "Mmm…" she murmured lazily, her voice vibrating against his neck, "you're so warm… it feels good like this."
Brandon's palm shifted, kneading her ass with a firmer squeeze, drawing a low, satisfied hum from her throat.
She tilted her head and her lips brushed his jawline in a fleeting kiss before lingering at his ear.
"That's right…" she whispered, a faint chuckle slipping through, "…hold me just like that. Don't you dare let go."
Her legs adjusted, curling a bit more comfortably around him, pressing her body flush against his.
The thin fabric of her underwear left little barrier, and every subtle shift of her hips teased against his hand and thigh.
Brandon exhaled softly as he could feel every inch of Florence's body even though she was wearing her underwear.
He tilted his head just enough to meet her eyes. "You're enjoying this way too much."
Florence smiled back, brushing her lips teasingly close to his lips but not quite closing the distance. "Maybe… but that's your fault, darling. You made the mistake of touching me first."
Her smile stayed as she shifted her weight just enough for her body to roll subtly against his.
The soft press of her breasts against his chest and the warmth of her thighs squeezing closer around him... it all left Brandon in a haze where instinct guided his every move.
His hand gave her ass another squeeze as his fingers spread against the plush curve of her ass.
She arched slightly at the touch and a hushed sound slipped past her lips that was halfway between a sigh and a moan.
"Mm… that's better," she whispered, her breath hot against his neck.
Her lips trailed up along his jawline, leaving feather-light kisses until she reached the corner of his mouth.
Her hips shifted again, pressing more firmly against his palm.
The thin barrier of her underwear strained against his fingers as she moved deliberately, coaxing him.
"Don't hold back, darling," she murmured against his lips, her hand sliding down his chest until it rested low at his waist.
Brandon's thoughts are muddled, and he doesn't care if it's Eira's mother or his mother-in-law... he just saw a beautiful and kind woman lying in his arm, flirting with him.
Florence's body pressed even closer against him as she nuzzled at his jaw.
Brandon's pulse quickened "You're… dangerous, Florence," he murmured, half-joking, though his tone betrayed how much her nearness was getting to him.
She smiled at that, lips grazing his cheek before kissing the corner of his mouth again. "is that so... this is just skinship between son-in-law and mother-in-law."
Her hips shifted faintly against his hand, and she arched her back just enough to press her chest more fully into him.
The warmth of her body, the soft scrape of her nails at his side and the way she seemed to mold against him... it all pulled him in deeper.
Brandon exhaled slowly, trying to steady himself, but he couldn't.
Her curves molded against him as though her body had been designed to fit into his body.
"That reminds me, Brandon…" She paused, her lips hovering just above his collarbone, before she whispered, "Can I call you Kael?"
Hm? He looked down at her and saw the shy blush across her cheek.
Feeling her gaze, she looked away and muttered quickly in embarrassment "I mean.. I like the sound of the name and it sounds so cute, so can I call you that?"
Ehhhh? He blinked, seeing her getting all shy for such a small request.
Her blush deepened when she noticed his silence, and she tucked her chin slightly "It's silly, isn't it? Forget I said anything…" she murmured, her confidence slipping for just a moment.
"Florence…" He leaned closer, so near their foreheads brushed and his breath fanned across her lips. "…You can call me whatever you want."
Her eyes widened at that and then with a slow smile that lit her face in a way no teasing smirk could, she whispered it for the first time.
"…Kael."
She giggled, wiggling her legs like a happy girl "Kael.. Kael..."
Brandon couldn't help but laugh, "What's gotten into you?" he asked, though his smile showed how much he enjoyed seeing her like this.
Her giggles only deepened, her lips brushing over his collarbone between them. "It's just… it feels different calling you that. Not Brandon… but Kael."
She muttered the syllables slowly this time, "Mmm… Kael…"
Her body pressed tighter to him and she whispered again "Kael… it sounds closer. Like I'm calling not the Herald, not the boy my daughter loves… but you."
Brandon's chest tightened faintly at her words.
Florence tilted her head up, her blonde hair brushing his chin as she looked at him "Kael," she repeated again, this time with a faint pout on her lips.
Then she wriggled her hips lightly against him and murmured "Say it back to me. Say my name."
Brandon let out a quiet chuckle and replied "Florence,"
She giggled again, clearly unsatisfied. "No, no… not like that."
Her voice softened into a hushed murmur, "Say it the way I said yours. Like it's just ours."
Her gaze didn't waver, and the smile tugging at her mouth made her look both stunningly beautiful and almost disarmingly girlish.
Brandon exhaled and looked into her eyes, "…Florence."
Her entire expression softened at once as if his voice melted straight into her.
She pressed her forehead to his and whispered back, almost giddy, "Yes… like that. Kael and Florence…"
Her body wiggled again, a little laugh escaping her throat "Mmm… I like that so much."
Looking at her happy face, Brandon's eyes softened and he instinctively leaned down, kissing her cheek.
"...ah."
The sound escaped his lips as he pulled back slightly, realizing what he had just done.
His eyes darted away and the tips of his ears flushed red with embarrassment. "…I am sorry," he murmured. "You were beautiful and I… I couldn't help it."
Florence's eyes trembled, as she has been the one always making moves on him and tempting him but this is the first time he has made a move on her.
Her lips quivered for a moment before curling into a smile.
Her chest felt tight, as if her heart had swelled beyond its bounds.
She lifted her hand and lightly touched the spot on her cheek where his lips brushed, as if to preserve the warmth he left there.
"No, no," she said softly, shaking her head. "It's okay, dear… you don't have to apologize."
She leaned in, "…You can kiss me whenever you want."
Brandon's lips parted, though he said nothing.
His throat felt tight, like his body is caught between hesitation and desire "Mhm."
Florence only smiled, her eyes brimming with tender affection, as if patiently waiting for him to cross the line she had already erased for him.
She had already erased the boundaries. All that was left was for him to decide.
