Getting a Technology System in Modern Day

Chapter 985: Le France

If someone watched the situation in the solar system from above with all the Conclave fleets highlighted, they would see that a majority of them were slowing down, not going forward to complete the pincer maneuver they were initially planning at the start of the war.

The only Conclave fleets that were still moving were those now trapped inside the Oort cloud, locked from attempting to enter FTL travel due to the spatial blockers preventing any and all attempts. But remaining still was not an option they could take, resulting in them moving as fast as they possibly could, trying to escape despite knowing that it was most likely going to be futile. Every few minutes, they would receive a report of another fleet experiencing a breach and boarding actions before they were left with the choices of surrendering, fighting to the end, which was an ensured loss, or just blowing themselves up, taking with them the information that the empire would access once they completed seizing the fleet.

However, there were a few outliers, as three fleets came to a complete stop, raising the flag of surrender, which the empire gracefully accepted. They took control of them and transported all of the captured prisoners of war back to their holding locations through the same breaching pods that brought the avatars into the ships in the first place.

The empire was fighting this war on both fronts, employing different strategies depending on the location. It took a careful approach against those near the solar system and followed a controlled chaos when attacking and infiltrating the Conclave.

Proxima Centauri

As the center of control for the empire's Conclave-side response, it was currently undergoing a similar scale of movement to when they were born. Everyone with the ability to do something to aid with the preparations was doing that to the best of their abilities, giving their all.

It had turned into an event for all the Proxima locals, who were happy to finally have the opportunity to repay a portion of what the empire had done for them. Ships could be seen going to space to collect materials before sending them into forges the size of moons to be used for the production of anything the Conclave side of the war needed, adapting depending on the constantly changing situation from the data that was being collected and analyzed in real-time as Athena used the information to create missions for the Avatars nearest to the targets.

"Do you think he will call us?" Birch, the mother of the light elves, asked as she looked at the capital planet of the Proxima star system from the windows of a very luxurious space station.

After spending more than a decade in the empire, they had already regained their freedom of movement, which was allowed the moment the empire cracked wormhole technology and could reach them at any time if they were needed.

With those permissions, a majority of them had decided to return to Proxima to use this freedom to use the bodies the Emperor had given them to analyze and understand their real bodies, still buried under the ocean, while also leisurely enjoying observing their children now living lives without their intervention, unless in situations where they were doing it as a means of aid, which was extremely rare due to the level of safety achieved in the empire.

"Is there even a need, man?" Crabapple, the father of dwarves, said with his head still buried in the avatar designing screen as he tried to create his perfect avatar.

During the years, he had made many discoveries through his extreme curiosity and his newly gained love for researching, with his contributions being prominently listed in the Akashic records, made accessible for everyone to use so long as royalties were paid.

As officially registered imperial citizens, albeit with a few privileges like access to classified information and a few more, they were also included in the list of those who could create avatars, and Crabapple was planning to take his time to design what he deemed to be his perfect avatar before he was to have it created and participate in the war.

"I mean, our kids participating is no different from us participating," Oak, the father of the giants, said, leaning lazily on a recliner, showing no interest in participating in the events at all. He was more interested in watching how everything unfolded than participating in it, making him just one of the billions of viewers in the livestream.

As the back-and-forth discussion took place among them, an announcement made in the official broadcast of the war caused all of them to stop in their tracks, wanting to make sure that they had not hallucinated.

[Nymari civilization has surrendered,] was the announcement that was shown, but it appeared for such a brief moment that it went unnoticed by many. Nearly half of those who saw it before it disappeared wondered if they were just conjuring things from the stress of the war until they rewound the footage and realized that it was true.

Ten hours into the war, the first civilization had finally surrendered. Although it was the weakest civilization in the Conclave, it still had more star systems than the empire, and that was by miles, even after subtracting the ones Dreznor had taken over in his secret conquest.

"This is crazy," Oak, the mother of dark elves, said, expressing her surprise. As someone who had betrayed the empire and attempted to fight against the Emperor, she knew too well how the empire dealt with things, and she couldn't believe that it had only taken the empire ten hours before reducing the number of civilizations they were fighting by one.

………………..

While the empire was now finally learning of the news of surrender, which spread like wildfire, the fleets that had stopped outside the solar system started disappearing as wormholes opened near their locations. They entered, returning back to their civilizations to try and deal with the empire's infiltration or prepare for it should the empire target them.

However, not all of the fleets retreated, as all of the eleven civilizations in the top ten had their fleets still remaining within the vicinity of the Nexus, raising questions as to what their course of action might be.
