Getting a Sugar Mommy in Cultivation World!!

Chapter 415: Forgetful Xin Yan

"Argh!!" The guards screamed in pain, clutching their heads. Unlike the young man, their pain did not abate quickly, lingering for a while before finally subsiding.

'There is no mistaking it; she is an expert. Even I cannot sense her cultivation level.' The middle-aged man started trembling in his boots after witnessing the small display of power from Xin Yan.

"What happened here?" Under the oppressive aura of the chief and his sharp glare, one of the guards cracked and started to blabber everything that had happened, including how the old man gave the order to throw the woman to the wolves to save themselves.

Hearing the guard ratting him out, the old man's face darkened. He wanted to kill the guard, but he was too afraid to make a move in front of the chief.

*Bang!*

When the guard stopped explaining, the chief's aura exploded, causing them to fall to their knees.

"You!! Trash like you have no right to become a guard!" His enraged voice scared the guards. With a snort, the chief turned towards the old man who was still somehow standing on his feet. "And you!"

"To think an old man like you would be so treacherous. Throwing the life of one of our own people to save yourself."

"I… I did this to save the rest of the people in the settlement!!" The old man tried to defend himself by coming up with an excuse.

"Tell that to yourself. Just pray that you don't die at that expert's hands before I deal with you!" Chief Vel scoffed at the old man, not believing him.

"CHIEF! You have to protect me! I will take any punishment but don't let that woman kill me!" The old man fell to Chief Vel's feet, begging for his life. From what he could see, the mysterious woman favored the woman he discarded to die. He did not know what she would do to him.

Chief Vel frowned at seeing an old man kneeling at his feet. Even though what he did was unforgivable, Vel did not have the heart to see someone who had been a resident of the settlement longer than him die.

"Since you are still alive, I think she does not know about it. If that woman you left to die says anything, I cannot do anything about it. If you are still alive by the time we come back, I will make sure to punish you all with the most painful punishment myself." The chief turned around and ignored the man.

He looked at the people inside the settlement gathered in one place, scared to their guts, wondering what was happening on the other side.

"Thank you for your grace, Chief!" The old man slammed his head on the ground a couple of times while speaking words of flattery. But unlike his words, his eyes were filled with killing intent. 'Just you wait, you bastard. I will make sure you regret the day you became the chief for making me face such shame.'

"Anyways, we should go down there and meet our savior." Turning his head away from the people, the chief jumped down off the wall and landed on the ground before the rest of the guards followed suit.

Some of the guards stumbled, fell, and injured themselves, but they stood up and followed behind their chief.

Even though he was reluctant, the old man thought that Chief Vel's words made sense, so he also jumped off the wall and followed behind them. His eyes turned bloodshot as he thought, 'I have to make sure the woman does not blabber too much.'

...

Xin Yan, who had just stood up after stopping the woman from continuing to kneel before her, sensed a group of people coming towards her and turned her head in their direction.

She had been keeping an eye on them from the start, making sure they did not slip away.

She did not think they would come towards her directly. Seeing the person leading the group, Xin Yan paused and muttered, "A monk?"

Her words, although low, reached the ears of the chief and the guards following behind him, causing them to stop in their tracks. Even though he was stunned by her voice, the words she said caused a tick mark to appear on his face.

"Hmm… not a monk." Xin Yan continued to mutter innocently. It was not that she was saying that because of his bald head; instead, she was saying that because the chief's appearance was similar to the monks she had seen.

A kind appearance, calm eyes, and… to be honest, the bald head did make her a little biased towards that assumption.

"Greetings, senior! I am called Vel, Chief of the village, and as you said, I am not a monk." Chief Vel spoke through gritted teeth. He tried to appear approachable, but being reminded of his bald head always angered him.

Xin Yan nodded her head without saying anything. From the corner of her eye, she saw the woman she had just saved looking pale as if she had seen a ghost and averted her eyes.

Following where she was looking, Xin Yan glanced past the chief and saw the guards trembling in their place.

Seeing the woman who had just massacred the beasts without even breaking a sweat looking in their direction made them sweat in fear. Feeling a piercing gaze on their bodies, the guards silently started praying for their lives.

"Oh, looks like I forgot something." Xin Yan suddenly spoke up, catching everyone's attention. When the chief followed her gaze, his eyes widened when he saw that she was looking at the old man.

He opened his mouth to speak, but before words could even come out, Xin Yan raised her hand and waved two fingers in the air.

Hearing the damp sound of something striking the ground, the guards slowly turned their heads and saw the headless body of the old man still standing.

*Splurt!!*

Blood flushed out of the neck and splashed all over them. In their fear, all the guards froze. They could not move, they could not breathe. All they could do was watch the body fall to the ground with a horrified look on their faces.

*Thud!*
